This amp was made in 2004, bought new in January, 2005.
It is a two channel amp, but I never use the clean channel. It sounds better to leave it on the "rock" channel, and just turn down the gain a bit.
It does have a headphone jack, which I use. It has plenty of power for practice; turn the volume up past one-fourth of capacity and the cops will quickly be at your door.

Sound Quality : 8
I have an Epiphone Junior with a Gibson 498T pickup in it. I paid almost as much for the one pickup as I did for the guitar. With this guitar, the amp rocks! The gain is really good; you can turn it up so high that it sounds like el-cheapo buzzing bees distortion. But you can also use the gain wisely and make it sound like natural overdrive.
I just got a Strat, and it really makes the amp sound awesome. When you realize I only paid 68.00 new for this amp, it has to be the best deal around.

Reliability : 10
This amp really is not for gigging, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It looks more expensive than it is, and it never craps out or does anything weird. I imagine that it will last as long as your average Chinese solid state t.v.; that is, forever.

You can deal with Kustom if you want, but this thing aint going to break.

Overall Rating : 9
I've only been playing a year and a half. This was my first amp. It sounds as good as I can play. The only drawback is that it has no reverb. I solved this problem by buying an inexpensive Danelectro BLT echo pedal. This pedal adds a nice sounding "wetness" to the amp, and now it sounds like a much more expensive item. If you're just starting out on guitar and want an amplifier that will give you honest quality for the money, Kustom is an outstanding choice. They don't have the name like Fender or Marshall, but it has a Celestion speaker, great distortion, and plenty of power.

I have been playing guitar for about 4 years, I've had this amp about the same ammount of time. I use an LTD with EMG-81 pickups. It doesnt have very many features, just pretty good sounding rythem and deadly gain.

Sound Quality : 10
For a practice amp it is great! If you are just starting out, you play metal, and have a low budget, i recomend this amp. its got more gain than you could ask for out of a 16 watt amp. it has a very good tone, havnt played any practice that even compares to it.

Reliability : 8
I've had this amp for 4 years, I have played the hell outa this thing. It is still givin'er. It doesnt sound like it did the day I bought it but it is still great. If I got it stolen I would buy another... well if i wasnt saving up for a better one like i am haha...

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea, never had to use it.

Overall Rating : 8
Id have to give this amp an 8. It is great, but it could have used reverb. not that its all that important. I recomened this amp if you are in the market for a practice amp.

16 watts, Distortion channel, volume, gain, also clean volume and a 3-band equaliser. Sound out jack, also headphones and sound in jacks. See other reviews for the full details.

Sound Quality : 8
I play mostly metal, using an Ibanez RX70 and occasionally a Boss MT-2.
Distortion: This has better than average distortion for amps in it's price range, but it needs to be up reasonably loud to do it justice. It's pretty brutal with the gain all the way up, and does that ol' reliable Metallica / Pantera / Opeth kind of distortion sound well. The sustain's not fantastic but it's not bad in any way.
Clean: Ehh ... it's a clean sound. It's ... clean, and clear... good enough for me.
It goes surprisingly loud for a practice amp, and it handled the MT-2 very well.

Reliability : 10
Uhhm, I wouldn't gig with it, I don't think I'm quite at that stage yet (and certainly not with a measly 16 watts).
It's never broken down. I've given it the odd accidental whack when moving it and it hasn't complained yet.

Never dealt with Kustom

Bought it from Joondalup music in Perth Western Australia. People were very friendly and helpful, and recommended this over a peavey Rage 158.

Overall Rating : 8
I'd have hoped for some reverb or something but this is answered by the KGA16R, reviewed elsewhere.

If it were stolen I'd probably consider buying the KGA16R, or maybe something larger and more marshall-y. No offence to this amp, but it's time to branch out, you know what I mean? Probably not.

Listed below, clean and distortion. This amp is not versatile at all. But for a 16 watt amp this is loud. It competed with a marshall mgh100dfx on a volume 4 so i guess thats not saying much for the marshall. If you want cheap power and a decent clean, you may like this. Its a practice amp tho, with nice power, all the features you'll need unless your an idiot dependent on effects.

Sound Quality : 5
Im using a cheap ibanez with an SH-6 pickup. I hate the way this amp sounds its way way way too muddy. It feedsback but i've never played an amp that didn't. distortion sucks, really bad. Whoever said this was good should try a Randall, or a Marshall maybe. Although the lower end amps of those two fall apart. I give it a five because i really like the clean channel, but hate the distortion.

Reliability : 10
Not loud enough to gig but this has been through lots of people and i have to say holds up better than a randall rg75 although taht sounds better.

Havent had to.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing two years and i used to own a randall rg 75 before ups killed it, have owned a roland 30 watter, and a Ibanez TB-50R. It was similar in sound to the roland although the roland broke. My Randall was great until it started losing sound(became quieter) please take my advice no matter how careful you are with a Randall it may just screw your life over. Lost $700 in shows and the amp itself. At least this 16 watter stays together. GO KUSTOM! I just dont like the distortion but its just a practice amp!

this a a 16 watt solid state amp by kustom. dont know what year it was made. it features a clean channel and a distortion channel and a headphone jack thats about it i wish it had reverb

Sound Quality : 5
im using a washburn mg-44 with a floyd rose tremolo, dual humbucker and a single coil in the middle postion.i play rock music(the doors, creed, godsmack, etc)the amp has a good clean channel for a solid state you can make good clean music but the distortion on this amp is terrible its to muddy for my taste i cant even pick out a single string when its on the distorted channel and it has horrible gain settings i can tweek it all day i couldnt find a good distortion

Reliability : No Opinion
i wouldnt gig with it because of the bad distortion but its built solid its not really loud so theres no way i could gig with it

I would have given it a 10 if it was a KGA16R, its a very nice amp, has channel switching, no reverb though. It has a headphone jack, its a very great amp for the mmoney

Sound Quality : 10
This has a great speaker, its a celestion speaker. Its good for any style. It doesnt have any effects, but the Clean And Distortion are awesome!

Reliability : 10
Its awesome, although ive only had for a month, its very high quality for a jensen product.

16-watt 2-channel solid state practice amp. controls; Volume,Gain (Channel 1), Rythym (volume for channel 2, breaks up beautifully like a tube amp at 6>), bass, mid, treble, channel switch, headphone jack, on/off light. external speakers jack (Hi-Z). Speaker; celestion super 8, 8-inch 8-ohm.

Sound Quality : 8
i use an ESP custom LTD M-200 i think (its used) w/2 "duncan desgined" humbuckers bridge/neck. i play punk, and it works really really good with this amp. the distortion is excellent, i dont need to put it up past 5, with gain at 10 and some detuning you can get the Deicide sound easlily, but i can play bad religion at 5, so im good. its not that loud, its a practice amp, duh. you can play with a drummer, but you wont be able to hear it that well. this amp is just like any other amp with monstrous gain. the clean channel is distored at past 5 i think, but i like it. distortion is VERY VERY brutal.

Reliability : 6
i cant depend on this thing,. mainly due to my ignorance. i wouldnt take this to a gig, unless i couldnt get any other amp. i plugged my amp (from the Hi-Z) ext. speakers jack into a 200 watt power amp then to a 65watt speaker, and guess what, i fried the transostor in my amp, so im in the process of getting a new one. it shouldve fucked the speaker if anything./

Customer Support : No Opinion
um...this amp has a warranty i think....im not sure, its new so i could have them fix it, but i'd rather pay the 4 bucks for the transistor and do some tweaking myself.

Overall Rating : 7
ive been playing for 6 months (alot of people say that im really good for only playing that long, cuz i am :) ) all i own is this amp, my ESP and some cords, ooh, also loads of broken strings that i will melt into a giant ball and eventually destroy the world with, mwuhuhahahahaha. if it were stolen i'd but something else, no offense this is a really good practice amp, but i'd get a Fender frontman 25R for a boost in power. i love distortion, i love the chicken-head knobs and crome trim, i hate that goddamn transistor. um..this was bought for me, so i couldnt really choose it... i wish it had about 34 more watts so i could practice with my band with out using our damn PA.
