dont know when it was made but suits pretty much all styles of music...i play rock/metal and i have a dano distortion and they go together perfectly! it has cd in, mid low, high equalizers, reverb, rhythm and lead, clean and dictortion. You can also plug in headphones which is good for jamming at home especially if you have a mom that likes to have her sleep. Solid amp...deserves a 9

No noise whatsoever...got it used and works perfectly...as most kustom amps do. heck it even makes me sound like herman Li with my slick ibanez. distortion is good but not as crazy as my friends line6..but pretty decent. Deserves a 9

Kinda small for gigging unless you have speakers that you can hook it up to...but you can go pretty loud. ive never gone past 3outof7 on the volume distorted. never broken down on me and never will:)

I think mine was built in 2007.
I bought this amp on a whim while visiting a local repair shop to have my Strat fixed. It looked good so I plugged it in and was very pleased with the sound, so at $116 I said "what the heck".
This amp is very versatile. Two channels - clean and gain, plus reverb. Headphone jack and CD input, too. Basic tone controls, but the bass knob actually has bass in it! It can perform country, blues, surf, 70s rock, punk and even hard rock up to AC/DC very well. It can play heavy metal also, but only for practicing, IMHO. Reverb is "okay", better than nothing.
Best sounding SS amp I have ever owned. Plays just as well as most midrange priced tube amps.
I wish this amp had a tremelo unit on it. Other than that, it's got everything.
Use it at home and on the patio and solo recording sessions. LOUD for a 16w amp!

The sound is fantastic, especially when you consider it sells for less than $120. Most people would believe it was tube if they heard it but could not see it.
I like classic rock (LZ, Bowie, Aerosmith, Cream, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Cheap Trick) blues and punk rock (Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Chrome). I play a 1977 Fender Stratocaster with EMG-SA pickups, plus a 1992 Gibson Les Paul Studio with EMG 81/85 pickups.
This amp is not noisy unless you crank the gain way up. AND IT IS LOUD!!! The clean channel does not distort unless you put it on 10.
The distorion is very raunchy and very bassy (you might want to turn the bass knob down on this channel), unlike the vast majority of amps both SS and tube. I get a great blues / classic rock sound with the gain at just 2 or 3. Led Zeppelin at 3 or 4. Ted Nugent at 5 or 6 (or 7).
This amp is FUN to play.

Kustom's amps are hard to find in stores (I wanted to try the Dual 30) so I emailed the company and they got right back to me and put me in touch with a local store who would order for me.

Been playing for 30+ years. If it were stolen I would get another one, or maybe the DFX version of this or maybe try the Dualo 30 version.
I love the wide variety of classic sounds, as well as the convincing tube-like tone. And the price is right, too!
Just wish the reverb was a little better (not that it's bad).

no idea when the amp was made. but i tend to like to play a lot of blues and some rock. comes with a clean and dist. channel along with some 'verb. rated at 16w, it is a solid state amp.
Sound Quality
:

the clean sound is pretty damn clear. for a 16w amp, it gives the highs a very pristine ringing and the lows a driving punch. that little celestion speaker is sure driving it home in this little guy.
the 'verb is pretty standard. not the cleanest i've ever heard, and after about the halfway point of turning the knob, starts to sound excessive and sloppy. best in moderation.
the distortion channel, however... maybe it's just my amp, but it seems like it's entirely too bass-y(?). doesn't seem to really matter how you set the tone controls. it's just comes out too muddy for my taste, so i rarely use it.

buddy gave me this amp 3 years ago as a thank you. it has been across several state lines with me. played on balconies and pushed to the decible limits. not a note sounded strained. this amp hasn't given me any grief as long as i've had her.

Made in 2004
Very versatile
I play rock, pop, new age
I use it at home and when playng at church
Solid with an 8'' speaker insider.
Very good construction quality (better that many cars inside!!!)
Guitar-IN, CD-IN, Phones-OUT.
Reverb also.

This amp seems more powerful than the specifications say (16w).
Clean sound is good, distortion not so good, so if you want to use it to rock, it's better to buy a processor...
The reverb is good, although i don't use it so much...
For the price, its a very good amp. Very good value.
If you want to start playing, you've just found your amp.

Well, i don't have it for enough time to say something about reliability, but you know, has a very solid aspect, good outside quality, well, let's see if it lasts enough!

I've never dealt with them, but i think if i would, it would be a little tough... I live in Portugal and that brand doesn't have a representation here. If it was a Fender... sure it would be easier!

I have been playing for some years, but at a classical guitar.
Now i mover to a Squier Special, a Boss ME-30 processor and this amp.
If is was stolen, i don't know if i would buy another. I would like to try some to have a better comparison.
I love the stile, the power, the quality, the portability, the CD-in.
I don't hate anything in special, but you know, the distortion isn't good enough.

the amp is versatile sonically and responds well to fx units/pedals. obviously only a practise amp in terms of volume but you certainly won't be straining to hear it. unfortunately doesn't come with remote channel switching. personally I took of the back and fitted a relay to the original switch and in turn connected that up to a small footswitch. works nicely though not the prettiest of modifications.

I'm using the amp with a fender mex fat strat. The tone controls are very effective and allow you to dial in many different sounds. You would have difficulty getting an amazingly heavy sound, though its only a practise amp, and what are pedals for anyway? The reverb is a bit noisy but is quite effective. I took a jonny greenwood approach and cranked everything up to max(except the master volume-this thing is quite loud for a practise amp) and you can get a surprisingly rich sound, great for brian may style solos. love it.

If I had to replace it due to theft/damage, I might ditch the whole practise amp idea and go for something like a behringer v-amp through headphones(so I could use it with a 4track more easily etc...). but, if I got another practise amp, would have no hesitation in getting one of these

Got this for $20.50 on eBay, almost new! What a great little amp. 16 watts driven through an 8" Celestion speaker gives all the noise you need in a practice amp. Clean channel is clean, with three band EQ and a nice sounding reverb. I have not cranked it up to see where the channel breaks up, but who cares. The distortion is also very nice, and variable. I use it with a little Ibanez compressor pedal, and it really helps even out the notes. This has all you want for a practice amp.

I use this with a DeArmond Bluesbird style guitar and an old Harmony Rocket. I play electric blues. Both sound very nice through this amp in both a clean or distorted blues voice. Again, for the cost and varaibility of sound, this is way beyond expectations.

Brand new. 16 watts, gain and volume for lead, separate rhythm, low, middle, high, and reverb settings. Head phone and cd inputs. Nice little practice amp for around $115. Plenty of power and distortion for room practice. I've only been playing for a couple of months and took the advice of the dealer.

I've got a Fender Nashville Telecaster that I run through it. It sounds clean. I had purchased a Danelectro Nifty-Fifty at first, but took it back and replaced it with this amp. Much better. Nothing against the Dano, but this amp has more features for about the same money. Since I'm new, I don't know enough to have a style, but from just fiddling with the settings, I'm impressed with the range of this little amp.

I know I'm not a very reliable source because I'm so new at playing, but judging from the competition (Danelectro, Marshall, Vox, Fender, etc.) in the 12-16 watt range, this is at least equal to what I heard out of these amps. At this price range, the difference is pretty minimal. Features are as short as the wattage, but I think this amp will do me fine for some time to come.
