Amp made in 2002. Onboard Dig-F/X. Celestion speaker. 65W, 2 Chan. There is no headphone out jack.

It would be nice to have as I don't want to vibrate my 6 month old out of his crib.

Sound Quality : 9
U use it with my Digitech RP100, so it kicks ass on a variety of sounds. I can go from U2 to Creed and the amp just begs for more of a challenge.

Reliability : 9
Others in this post have questioned its reliabilty. I have had no problems and it comes with a 3yr warranty.

Customer Support : 9
The shop where I bought it didn't have the manual it came with. I e-mailed Kustom and they e-mailed me a manual the next day.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 15 years. I have an Digitech RP100, Yamaha KB-480 keyboard, Samick AV-1, Image 20W practice Amp, Rodriguez Classical Guitar, all hooked up to my PC for recording.

I would buy the exact amp again. For the price, there is no amp better on the market.

I love the top mounted dials. The seem extremely rugged.

Only wish it had the headphone jack.

Bought this amp in summer 2002.
Solid state 65 watts two channels and on board effects.
Pretty much most of the things I would want if I was designing my own amp.

Sound Quality : 8
This amp gets used mostly with my Strat+ with EMG Ynh-20 Electronics.
It's a great amp for Church where I line out into the board and anywhere that you'll be asked to go direct though I do use a Behringer G100 DI with 4x12 cab emulator on. Sound wise it has 3 ranges of dirty (rythym, gain & more)and no real sparkling clean, but I don't know anybody who plays dead clean anymore.Could have lots to do with my axe as it's a little hot. It's really quiet for noise and really loud for volume if you dig...I do like it best before the speaker breaks up..it's not the most musical speaker distortion in my opinion.

Reliability : 9
Solid State! No Grief!..I say this after spending two hours babying my other(tube)amp..
The dealer says the effects board has a habit of acting up..but it does come with a 3 year warranty.

Customer Support : No Opinion
3 year warranty
No trouble after 8 Months

Overall Rating : 10
Overall, considering price, sound and features I have got to rank this amp highly. It's light to carry, versatile and sounds good.
I'm happy with it.

This is the only thing I want to write about... THESE AMPS are NO reliable at all! I bought one and broke down a couple of days... next day went to the store and told them about it, and they said I could get a new one, so I tried one of the amps they had in the store... It didnt work either! So the guy said that there were usually a lot of fault with!

If u get urs to work, then thats fine! but for the rest of us who cant get this hunk of junk to play for more than an hour, its no use... Its cheap though!

i think this amp was made in 99. it is pretty versatile, but i usually use it for ska (clean) and punk (heavy distortion)The two chanels are pretty good, but the clean sounds empty somehow.it runs to my cab and sound exactly the same as without, so that is good. i dont really use the effects, but they are better than pedal effects, except you cant mix em.Solid state, pretty decent, i usually use it for shows and band practice. i paid 420 canadian, but the knocked it down to 400 plus 15%tax because of a tiny wee little scuff..

Sound Quality : 9
i use some crappy no name glam rock axe, and it makes it sound really really good. it is great for heavy distortion, but it is hard to get a rockabilly sound from it.it runs quiet, but it has alot of feedback if it is up past halfway.the clean runs clean no matter how loud.Fucking brutal distortion.

Reliability : 1
mine broke within a week. I hadn't even turned it up halfway, and the speaker melted. It had only been on for about five minutes, and there was no reason for it to blow. When i brought it back, KUSTOM refused to replace the speaker, because it wasn't normal wear and tear. I indicated that that was why i wanted it fixed, because it should not have blown from being used quietly for short periods of time, but they completely refused to do anything. Don't Fret had to take the speaker out of the amp and put in one from another amp at their own expense. There is also no written warrantee, just keep your recipt..

Customer Support : 1
the company was pigheaded, assish, and rude. They did not care about me as a customer after they had sold me the amp. They accused me of lying.I would like to nail their front window with a brick and glue thier locks shut.

Overall Rating : 7
been playing for about four years, i also have a peavey 4x12 cab, a yamaha vintage 100 watt, a marshall 100 watt, and a bunch of other stuff. I would probably not buy another one, id get a head instead. I love the distortion, i hate the fact that i cant put it past halfway without an anoying background feedback. It sounds better than dirty marshall, which is a pretty good statement.

I'm not sure what year it was made but I just bought it so most likely 2002.

I play all types of music, rock, pop, little jazz, etc. It seems to work for most music.

Basic features:
65 watt solid state, more than enough power
Two-channel, clean and distortion
Digital effects, 2 reverbs, echo, chorus, flange and a couple of other standard effects that everyone else has.
Fx loop
Foot switch jack
12 in. Celestion speaker
1/4" line out AND XLR line out. (great feature for stage)
CD 1/4" input

Sound Quality : 8
I use an Epiphone Les Paul Special with the amp and it sound pretty good. I play rock and easy rock, etc., and have been playing for about 30 years. It works out pretty well. I don't beat my equipment up so I depend on a more subtle sound.

The clean channel sound good, but it is missing something. I can't put my finger on it yet as to what it is. The distortion channel works out good for what I play, but it is not very versatile. It's pretty heavy, you can't really get that light subtle distortion. It's sort of a heavy to very heavy distortion. But it does sound good.

On the up side, the amp is almost noiseless. Kustom distortion has almost no hum or buzz at all. Other Kustom amps have the same characteristics.

And another thing, the digital effects are near perfect. The best I have seen in a small combo amp. Other amps introduce lots of hum when they are activated, but this one is really clean. You will use the effects, they sound REALLY good, and they work the way you would expect them to work. Not like that other amp with digital effects who's name I won't mention. (crate) :) On the downside, as with all combo effects, you can't mix them.

I don't use it at really high volumes, but I have turned it up a few times. Still sounds good a high volumes, but if you use any type of effects pedals, using the effects loop is a must at high volumes. If you put in the guitar input, it just turns to mud.

It also has a bright button on the clean channel that increases the treble, but it has so much treble to start with I never use it. Another one on the distortion channel increases the distortion ever more. I don't use it either.

Reliability : 6
Now this is a difficult thing to rate.

In general, the amp is very reliable. It's solid state. Not much to go wrong there.

Where it has a problem, and to me, it's a serious problem is the cover. They used a fabric backed vinyl that is very soft. It will tear with almost any dent you put in it. The first day I got it I slightly bumped it on the wall putting in the closet. It tore the cover so I had to glue it and touch it up with a black pen.

To avoid this, I just left it out next to my DAW computer and try to move it as little as possible.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It has a three year warrantee. I have not had to used it yet.

Overall Rating : 7
Overall I like the amp. I'm not 100% sure I would replace it with the same unit if it were stolen. What I can tell you is that I think it is the best amp with that much power for the price. If I did not have much money (like now) I would buy the same unit.

I like the sound overall, but there should be some sort of gain on the clean channel as well. Something that does not take it into the distortion realm, but something that will make the signal "fatter".

Also, the foot switch jack is a stereo jack that switches between channels and turns the effects on and off. Kustom does not make a foot switch. What do you buy? I don't know, and they don't either. I asked them.

Another thing I would like to see that I probably would not ever use is multiple guitar inputs.

Don't get me wrong, I really love the amp. I use an amp modeler, and at times I just prefer the sound straight without the modeler. It's a great sounding amp, just a few things would make it sound even better.

I use this amp for live shows and at home

I use an Ibanez RG 570 & Fender strat
This amp has great lead channel, but the clean channel gets distorted high volumes causing the sound through the speaker to break up. I've found that setting the bass around 2 o'clock, and the mid and treble around 10 o'clock works best when EQ'ing the dirty channel. EQ the clean channel with the bass at 2 o'clock, and the mid and treble at 9 o'clock.

Reliability : 10
I haven't had a problem with it. I have used it every weekend for a year now playing four hours a night.

I have been playing for seventeen years. I bought this amp to practice with, not to use it for gigs. I own a peavy 5150 that is to loud for small clubs that I mostly play now. Kustom was forced into action, but I am looking for something different. The dirty channel is great for gigging, but the clean channel doesn't have enough power over rock drums without distorting. If you plan on keeping the overdrive channel, then it's a great amp. Also ,I would recommend this amp to anyone who will be playing in a band for the first time.

i give this amp an 8 because if its buttons and knobs you want this is your amp. Granted its not one of those line 6 amps this doesnt have that many but its good. It has 3 channels: Clean; Lead; Lead with the more button. its got all the plugs youll need. you can hook up a cab or do line direct recording its cool you can hook up heaphones but it comes out mono atleast for me it does. Its a very loud 65 watts. trust me. Kustom says its a solid state Mosfet whatever that means

Sound Quality : 9
This is Defiantely a Metal Amp. It gives Death Metal Type Distortion when the gain is cranked. And of course with an amp like this I play metal music. what a coincidence. I guess you could play other pussy shit with it too, it does have a very nice and clear clean channel. The High Low And Mid Knobs are very responsive so when you turn them you actually do get different tones. I Have and Ibanez Rg 550 with emg 81 and 85 pickups. I doubt its my guitar that makes the amp sound good, it sounds good with other guitars too. I get loads of feedback when the volumes cranked but ive been told thats unavoidable with any amp.

Reliability : 10
Its a solid state so I dont replace tubes. Id gig with it. As a metal guitar player the tone only matters to a point after that you just want it to be fucking loud which it is. but it still sounds very good at high volumes.

Customer Support : 10
I bought this amp off ebay and did not have a manual. their customer service Dept. sent me one for free. HOT DAMN

Overall Rating : 10
I give it a 10 because its a damn good amp for what i payed. I bought it on ebay! (i reccomend it buying from them if you are an informed consumer) ive seen more expensive amps from marshall that dont pack the power this mothertrucker has and it sounds just as good in my opinion. Ive only been playing for a short time, less than a year in fact. I guess im pretty good for the time ive been playing. Im assuming at some point i will improve. CAUTION: THE AMP WILL NOT MAKE YOU A BETTER GUITAR PLAYER. I do Hate the feedback at high volumes though. The 10 is for amps in this PRICE RANGE. overall all as compared to maybe a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier Id give it a 7. thats not that bad though as compared to a 2000 dollar amp

i believe my amp was built about 1999 . It has 8 effects onboard , 2 channels , and a line out , guitar input and cd tape input . plus , it has outlets out back for mics , footswitches and stuff. i dont use them .The effects are good and the distortion is very versatile. On the lead chanel it has a more switch for heavy distortion and a mid boost switch . On the clean channel it has a boost button . Very good features for the price .

Sound Quality : 10
I use this amp with my Dean Sarasota. For those who dont know , this is a dual humbucker semi-hollow body . I play my own style of heavy rock , and cover songs and styles by vai , satch , megadeth , savatage , and then to players like stevie ray vaughan , and zakk wylde . Randy Rhoads groundbreaking axe work is the main sound being heard on this amp though. This amp is extremely versatile . i can get studio quality sound at all volumes , although i never cranked it up all the way . thats just the way i am , i dont believe in doing so . the effects onboard bring this amp over the top .They make any guitar player sound 10 times better . The effects are so clear and warm sounding that i dont practice with them on b/c wen i go play straight through another amp with no effects , i feel like i am not nailing it as i did before. Phenomanal tone , except for one problem . Personally i feel the speaker could be a little brighter , but then again , thats my preference . The man who bad mouthed this amp eaither got a poorly constructed one or was an a$$hole plain and simple . My friends think i am god . Could it be the amp ? i dont know , but i wont ever replace it .

Reliability : 10
i have had it for a year or more , and i have had no such problems , i just plug it in and play . it is very reliable , and has never hassled me ( knock on wood) hopefully 30 years from now i will feel the same way . I feel it is very reliable , for the price it's pretty sturdy . my only complaint is the thin wood out back .

Customer Support : No Opinion
to be perfectly honest , i always go to the store where i bought it , as i said in my review of my dean chafin sarasota , the man i bought this from treats me like gold and i have never had a problem he couldnt solve . but then again , i havent had problems with this amp , only minor things on my guitar so i really dont have an opinion on this.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 2 years or so and have come a long way . I have played many amps . To be perfectly blunt this amp would make a great addition to anyones rig , be it live , for home use or for the studio . I cant say as to if it's the perfect amp . It suits me very well and i am very picky . It plays well and makes me happy . thats as far as my thoughts go . If it were stolen i would probably step up to a larger amp such as a cabinet and a head setup ( i plan to any way due to live playing) but this is not b/c i am dissapointed , i just want more power. i hope the larger amp sounds as good as this . I wish kustom would make a head version of this amp . If i come into money and it was stolen i would buy another even after i had the large amp setup . i played a marshall valvestate avt 50 head and a 1960 a speaker and the kustom compared very well . i cant say enough , but hey dont take my word , go out and play one . youll be happy you did ..

This amp was made in 2001. It seems versatile enough. It has two channels and 8 digital effects.

I have a samick LLC-650 and a fender squire stagemaster. The amp sounded good with both guitars. I have no complaints with the sound.

Reliability : 1
Here's the problem with this amp. The first one I had worked fine for about a month. Then, the volume would suddenly drop to where you could barely hear it. I took that one back and got another one. The second one worked fine for a few weeks then the effects board started to have a very annoying HUM! I took it back and I will never buy another kustom amp!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never dealt with customer support, only with the guys at the place where i bought it.

Overall Rating : 1
I have only been TRYING to play for about a year, but it's hard to learn with crappy equipment! At first I really liked this amp. It had pretty good tone and all, but I can't stand things that are always breaking down.

Twin channels, clean with 'bright' switch, and gain with 'more' and mid-boost. Its got XLR out and effects loop, speaker out, line out etc. Anything you could need really. No headphones but who needs it anyway. There is also a CD input-bizarre!!!

Sound Quality : 10
Well it makes any guitar sound good. I use a Epiphone Les Paul (with Kent Armstrong pickups) and a Gordon Smith GS-1. The clean sound is fender through and through. With the bright switch it just sounds like great. Really warm and valve-like, far more so than most of these cheaper amps posing and valve amps. The gain channel is really versatile, and is strange in that its character changes as you increase the gain, not just giving you more and more gain. Its tone changes!! So it starts out warm and bluesy, then turns to a darker more power chord like rhythm sound. To get the most useable (IMO) Les Paul sound you should stick the 'more' button in and turn the gain down. This is just brilliant to my ears. You can vay your guitar volume and its just changes to whatever you fancy tonewise.

Reliability : 9
It seems very well built for the price. It had a slight am rattle when I got it, but this was caused by the top of the cabinet (roughly in the middle)vibrating against the amp head. So I lowered the amp head out and stuck some Blu-Tack in there to stop the vibration. Now its quiet as a mouse. The front panel/grill is attached with velcro strips, which aren't alligned to well, but it hasn't fallen off yet. If it does its just a case of stapling the back in the right place!!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've had no need to contact them as yet. Fingers crossed.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for around 7-8 years, and had a load of different amps and guitars through my hands. None have pleased me as much as this. It is a really good all round amp, which I plan to use mostly for band rehearsals and recording. But it is perfectly capable of being used for gigs. And it has not problem sounding out over my drummer, who uses an un-dampened bass drum!!!
