Solid state, 3 way equalizer, distortion channel with gain&level, clean channel just level. Headphones and speaker out put, one input. Found it on the street, the input jack is half broken (as in other review).

The bass is strong, but it rattles. In the higher cords the guitar starts singing quite nice! With the distortion levels right you can make it growl. I play blues and clean and it does it ok, for a free amp it sounds fantastic!
I play a Gibson with pa 90s, maybe they make every amp sound good.

I was actually surprised that any practise transistor amp would sound even reasonable. I have played through a 50 watt Samick and it was awful. Get it for a few dollars and make garage music with it - in your garage.

my first amp, not bad really, 15-20w, dist channel & clean channel, headphone jack, Speaker jack, 3 eq band with 1 clean volume knob and a gain and volume knob or distortion channel. HERE is a MAJOR thing, i looked inside the amp and found a section of circuitery that says "reverb/chorus" yet nothing is there, i contacted kustom but they didn't give me the part or anything

stock, its a bit bassy for a guitar amp. volume fluxes pretty wildly, esp on distortion channel. distortion "gain" is a ery good feature as it give ability to add amount of distortion to a high and low degree so at very low distortion it can be used as a solo boost

depend? NO! the input jack is sooo bad, i have to adjust the jack constantly, but then it broke and i couldn't get any loud sound without going over the 2 o'clock point in clean level volume

THE KLA 20 IS PRETTY DULL ON ITS OWN BUT YOU CAN'T FAULT THE MANUFACTURERS FOR THIS AS MOST GUITARIST'S USE FX ANYWAY.
I PERSONALY USE A FENIX PLUGGED INTO A KORG A5,A YAMAHA DIGITAL SAMPLER/DELAY AND A JIM DUNLOP G 90?.
IT IS A BEDROOM AMP AND IS NO GOOD WHAT SO EVER FOR BEING IN A BAND WHICH IS WHY IT PROBALY HAS A SPEAKER OUTPUT.
IT SHOULD ALSO HAVE BEEN GOOD IF INSTEAD OF A HEADPHONE JACK IT HAD A FOOTSWITCH FOR CHANEL SWITCHING. BUT IT SERVES MY NEEDS

THE DISTORTION IS FLAT AND EMPTY AND THE EQ IS RUBBISH. NOT EVEN A PRESENCE/BRIGHTNESS KNOB.
THE CLEAN CHANNEL I FOUND VERY STERILE WHICH NOTTO EVERY ONES TASTE I LOVED AS IT DID'NT COLOUR MY FX SOUND

I HAVE HAD IT SINCE 97 AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS WHATSO EVER BUT THEN I JUST USE IT AS A SPEAKER,
I DON'T CHANEL SWITCH OR PLAY WITH SETTINGS.
THAT IS WHAT FX ARE FOR.

I think the one I have was made in 97. 15 watts clean, 20 watts overdrive(or so they claim). It has the basic components of a small solid state practice amp, with a few "extras" including a line out jack, headphone jack, etc. Two channels, clean and overdrive. Also a basic 3 band EQ. It's the only amp I use, so I guess it's acceptable.

I play a Hamer Slammer (fat strat copy)through a Zoom GFX707 to my amp. I sounds decent through my setup, but a multi effects pedal can make any amp sound good. Without the pedal, things change. The amp has no tone or personality at all. Granted, it is a solid state amp, but the sound shouldn't be completely flat and lifeless. By playing w/ the EQ, you can almost get it on the verge of not quite sounding OK. The overdrive is not too bad, but leaves much to be desired.
After wondering if it was my guitar that totally sucked, I switched amps for a few days and played though my sister's little Crate 12 watter. It sounded so much better. there was no comparison. I knew it had to be my amp that sucked.
For now, I guess I'll put up with this emotionless amp until I manage to sell it (like anyone would buy it). I then plan to buy a Vox Pathfinder, which I read is a sweet little amp. Cheaper than the KLA-20 too, although it might not be quite as loud.

It's still working after about a year. But I did have a problem switching channels a few times. The overdrive switch would be pressed in the whole way and no sound would come out. I had my eardrums blasted several times when I turned the volume up only to have still nothing come out of it. After hitting it a few times in frustration, it started working again.

I've only been playing for about a year and a half, but I know a good amp when I hear or play one. This one is just about as mediocre as they get. Dull sounding, very average overdrive, and overall not that great. There are definitely better amps out there for the same price or cheaper, although they may not be 20 watts. But who cares about how loud an amp is as long as it sounds good (for practice anyway).
