I got this thing for christman maybe 6-7 years ago before I took up guitar. It was meant for me to use as a stereo speaker. It worked allright but it was a little but echo-ey and hard to balance. Then I decided to take up guitar. It is a 40 watt amp, one channel. A gain selector which isn't 100% sharp. Nice reverb however and an awesome bass option. I wish it had a brighness feature, the distorion isnt excellent and it sometimes makes this incredibly loud whistle when you go past the 6/7 selector on the distortion...they need to fix that.

Sound Quality : 8
I first used a strat with it and it was allright. I loved the bassy sound you can get and the pure clean sound. Then I used a Les Paul and the distortion sounded really good. I got that nice slide/slurpy feel out of the humbuckers. The 2nd srat I used on it had somewhat better single coils. They seemed more raised and the sound was phenominal. Bassy, but good for Classic rock, punk, and blues. I mentioned the whistle.... The distortion cannot go to its fullest, so it can't sound too bright. Plug a Bass in and it sounds terrific! It doesnt bust and the tone is great

Reliability : 8
It's never Busted, even with a bass plugged in it sounds good and wont explode or anything. Ive put it down hard once and it has this strong wooden framework that keeps it together, although it did make an odd reverbic echo when I did. The distortion cannot reach the 10 level withouth the whistle so I think something IS wrong with it. The input ring fell off, it was just a piece of plastic covering the machinary.

Never got any

Um, been playing since I was 12 or 13, I have an acoustic Fender, which ive plugged in. 2 strats, a yamaha bass, and a les paul..some other strange stuff and I am currently looking to getting a Fender or Marshall Amp. Perhaps a 65 watt one. This Kustom works for all kinds of guitarists but I don't recomend it for gigs. It is loud, but not loud enough to be played all by itself next to a drumset. You'll get out of it what you expect to.

Two Channels, one input jack, three bands, reverb. 20 watts, but not really very load. Volume is good, but not suprising. Solid State.

Sound Quality : 9
I've used this with several guitars, ranging from an Ibanez Talman with H100s, a Strat clone and a hollowbody with singles. Amp Volume is so-so but OK for practice.

This amp really shines in one respect, and this is why I'm keepng it: Woman Tone. That sweet overdriven tone that's sounds so good for 60's Brit style blues. This amp comes real close to nailing it. I mean for a cheap transistor amp, it really sounds sweet. It's got that Sunshine Of Your Love solo tone.

If you want a dirty grungy sound, forget it. But for Woman Tone... Hoo boy. Reverb does the job, nothing amazing about it, but it does the job. I have a Fender Bullet Reverb that is better in every way, but the FBR won;t give me that bluesy Woman Tone. The Kustom KLA20-R will. It really can sing like a tube overdriven.

Solid state. No Problems

Bought it used on Ebay. So Customer support is not an issue.

I get that one tone from it. Otherwise, it's OK, not amazing, but OK. But that sweet tone leaves me thrilled.

The KLA20R is a fairly recent amp. I play a variety of music: Punk, ska, country, you name it; and this amp really accepts most styles. Since this amp was designed as a practice amp, and it's only 20W, it's got two channels with standard 3 band equalizers, and overdrive. It also has a spring reverb which is barely recognizable, but oh well. It has no effects loop, but does provide a headphone jack, and an external speaker jack. It certainly wouldn't hurt if it had an effects loop jack, but that's a luxury that I can live without. I rarely use the reverb on this amp, as it's hardly recognizable. This amp is primarily used at home, but occasionally I take it out to my dad's business and play. It's a very nice solid state 20W, and its got enough power for practice and small event playing.

I use a vintage Teisco Del Ray (Circa 1968-1973)with two single coil pickups, one at the tremolo, on at the neck. I play a variety of music, usually punk and Ska. If you set the gain to the right level, it suits both music styles. It's got the typical hum of all amps when you turn it up loud, but it can get nice and loud.... very impressive for a 20. The amp is pretty good for alternative, punk, ska, and some metal, but really isn't a country amp. At high volumes, the clean channel is quite unaffected, but the distortion channel gets down and mean.

Reliability : 10
This amp is very dependable, but then again, I'm a total care freak, and don't let anything come close to colliding with my amp. But so far, over the two months I've had it, it's not made a single foul up.

I've never dealt with the company, but the owner of my local guitar shop has told me it's under a 90 day warranty and he'd gladly fix anything that's wrong with it.

I have been playing since September of 1999. I also own a Johnson Acoustic guitar. If this amp were stolen or lost, I wouldn't waste 100 buying another when I could probably get an 80W amp for 150, or get 1 120W amp for 200. I love the size, it's got a 6" speaker, but the overall size is perfect for taking anywhere.I hate the fact that it doesn't have an effects loop, because I'd love to hook a wah pedal up to it. I did some comparing, and found this to be made by a higher quality company. I bought this one because it was a good company and cheapest in the shop.

This is a solid state 20 Watt amp with 2 channels and the standard high/mid/low EQ settings. I paid $215 Australian and its my first amp as Ive only been playing for about 9 months now. Suprisingly it has a reverb setting which too my untrained ear sounds alright. It has a single input as well as a speaker and earphone output. Adequate features for a cheap practice amp. I mainly play on my own but my girlfriend plays drums so we jam now and then and it does OK.

Sound Quality : 8
I use an Ibanez EX with Humbucker and 2 single coils and play a variety of styles from slow blues(Clapton), to standard rock and grunge through to a bit of thrashy metal stuff(Megadeth). Ive had the amp for about 6 months and Im still playing with the sounds and tones to get the right ones. The reverb setting helps the clean tone but at loud volumes it tends to go very twangy, not so distorted but a bit unhealthy. Once again the reverb helps but it still gets very annoying. When playing with a drummer it just isnt quite good enough. The distortion on this amp is pretty bloody good for a cheapy. From low volume settings to high it has a nice tone. Playing around with the EQ you go from Sabbath to Metallica tones quite well. It is possible to dial up a nice crunchy sound if you play around with it. Sounds a lot richer than my mate's Peavey Rage 158 according to him.
Pity about the clean tone.

Reliability : 9
No problems so far and its been left in the back of my car in the heat heaps as well as dropped and kicked. No real bad abuse but it looks and feels hardy enough.

Overall Rating : 8
Not much to say except that Im pretty happy with it and it does the easy jobs I ask it too. The clean tones annoying but I dont crank it often. Perfect for a first time amp and is better than most others Ive heard in the same price range. If it got trashed or stolen I wouldnt buy it again for the simple reason I wanna upgrade any way but I would definitely reccomend it for a first amp. I would possibly think about a better second hand amp if I had the choice again but try it out for sure.
