I bought the 8420 a few months ago on ebay as a reconditioned unit from an authorized Kustom dealer. I am very, very happy with it. It powers a 5 piece rock band in auditoriums, bars, etc.
It is very powerful, do not crank it up past 5 in a small room or you WILL blow your eardrums (trust me, I was ringing for 3 days).
8 Channels , all with BOTH 1/4" AND xlr inputs. It has nicely thought out features like a kill-switch that kills the signal from the mixer to the amp so you can avoid the horrible popping sound when you plug or unplug cords without having to touch the volume settings. The feedback threshhold does a great job eliminating feedback. Separate volume control for the tape in allows you to play a CD during the break without having to adjust the main volume sets.
It has all the standard features like effects in/out, rec out, power amp in, tape in, monitor out, and 4 speaker outs.

Very clean sounding. The digital effects are very clean, having 2 different processors allows us to put reverb on the vocals and add chorus to just the acoustic guitars on top of the reverb.
3 EQs on each channel give you an absurd amount of play in the highs/lows. You can completely kill the high end by turning the high EQ all the way down.
2 separate 7-Band EQs, one for main speakers, one for monitors allows us to play with the sound a bit more on stage.
Phantom power on all 8 xlr inputs allows for condensor mics.
The PAD feature on the 8 channels pumps up the sound quite a bit for low inputs.

Built like a tank, but not that heavy.

Very nice amp. I recommend it as much as a Peavey or Mackie, and is usually much less expensive.
