I think this amp was made in '04.

The amp does what I need it to do. It makes sound... and after lots of listening and adjusting it makes some really good sound.

2 channels, with 2 different pre amp voicing per channel. You have to purchase the footswitch seperate, but it's only $25... so I didn't mind picking it up. effects loop, which I don't use as of now.. head phone jack, 2 seperate line outs.

I really honestly wish I had a tube amp... but I'm not ready to drop the $1500 on that Krank Revolution yet... This amp is solid state. The amp has a DFX unit but I use only the "hall reverb" effect right now... it dosn't sound that great...

I've just practiced with this amp thus far. More than enough power.

plus they give you two pretty decent speaker cables... that was an unexpected plus.

Sound Quality : 9
When I first plugged in this amp... I was like crap, it sounds like crap... I'm going to have to send it back... The clean channel was too clean... I really like a dirty clean channel... it's part of my sound. The distortion sounded lifeless and thin at high volumes... but beautiful at low volume... I messed around with the eq and different pre-amp voicings... still no go. well I had 45 days to return it soooo I decided to try a few things. Thank goodness. I now plug my guitar into a tech 21 tri-AC overdrive pedal then into a cheap little ART tube pre-amp MP. Now I have the the dirty clean channel and my distortion has plenty of life... and I now have 3 differnt distortions to choose from.

for guitars I use : Gibson SG special and Schecter Blackjack S-1.

I have a "cheap" behringer cabinet... the one with the Jensens.

It suits my music style just fine. Rock/Punk/Hardcore/Jazz/Blues.

This amp is reasonably quiet... not too bad, I just switch to clean when the songs done... no problem

I give the sound a 5 before I bought the tri-ac and ran it thru the tube pre. but now I give the sound a.....

Reliability : No Opinion
hopefully I can rely on this head... thats why I bought it... it's my main head for now, but soon it will be my dependable solid state backup head....

my first band had a kustom pa from the 70's that kicked major butt... we dropped it alot and it always worked... hence the reason I went to for the kusom head

Customer Support : No Opinion
don't know... hopefull I won't find out.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing 10 years.

I would buy another if it were stolen or lost... I don't think you can buy a better guitar head for under $360.

It's pointless but I love the blue lights... and the overall look of the head.

I compaired this head to a couple other cheapys... this one was the best bang for the buck.

I wish it we're all tube... but hey I bought it to be a back-up and it was super cheap so I'm super happy with the head.

I believe this is the 2003 model. It is a very versatile amp and can easily create a variety of awesome tones with very little tweaking.

Sound Quality : 10
My rig consists of a BC Rich Kerry King V, a Boss GE-7 Graphic EQ, a Boss NS-2 Noise Supressor, the Kustom Quad 200 Head and matching 4x12 Cab. There are some reviews that mention that this amp is not for metal but I for one have to disagree. It comes pretty close to the guitar tone Jon Schaefer has in Iced Earth. I use a Boss EQ to boost the gain and a Boss NS-2 to clean up some of the noise from the EQ. This amp is loud as hell. I can't get it passed 9 o'clock because I drown out my drummer and bass player. Even at high volumes the amp remains smooth and focused.

Reliability : 10
The amp is built like a tank. I've only had this amp for about 6 months but it has made it this far so I believe it to be reliable. Sounds as good as the day I bought it.

Customer Support : 10
I have not yet dealt with the company due to the fact that I got it from a dealer but their customer service was awesome.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for over 12 years now and I've played through just about every amp out there. Sure, there are better amps out there but this amp can deliver similar tones without the hefty prices. In a nut shell: great price, great tones, great versatility, great amp.

Average features, but for the price you cant beat it!

3 Channels (one clean, one overdrive, and an overdrive boost button called "BALLS" :D ). Each channel has 3 EQ settings. Each Channel has 2 Pre-Amp settings (OD: Punch, Grind; Rhythm: Lean, Fat). 8 Effects (Hall Reverb, Spring Reverb, Slap Back, Delay, Chorus, Chorus/Reverb, Flange/Reverb, Tremolo).

4 Ohms, Speaker Out, Line Output, Effects Loop, and Footswitch jack. Aux In, Mic In. One guitar input.

The reason its getting 8 instead of 9 is beacuse it doesnt come with a footswitch, thats almost unheard of!

Sound Quality : 10
This thing is incredible, its just amazing. It has one of the best clean channels of any head units, and the overdrive will go from nearly clean sounding all the way to a bit heavier then AC/DC. The range of overdrive will make any blues artist fall to their knees. If your into metal, go get another amp, you have gazillions of metal amps to choose from. You can always get an overdrive pedal for metal still, but Ive never been a fan of them. Unless you have big bucks to spend on a pedal, itll ruin the point of having this head!

This amp is for the true blues/rock artist who wants a retro sound. It doesnt sound like any other amp, nor does it try to be. This amp will be emulated years from now on all those emulation units floating around. It sounds amazing no matter what guitar you plug into it.

The effects are great too! Reverb can be over the top at any high setting, slap back is a great delay! The regular delay is perfect for there being no time setting, sounds all analog. One of the best chorus effects! Flange isnt too great, and tremolo is pretty standard sounding. The effects arent the best part about this unit, but I always love reverb :). Cant play without it. Adds sooo much depth to solos that may otherwise sound dry.

Dont let tubes vs solid state fool you anymore, you would never be able to tell the difference. You can get almost any classic sound your looking for. Solid state is the future and you should never consider getting tubes without trying this head. This amp will put so many others to shame!

Reliability : No Opinion
Looks retro, solid as a rock, Kustom has been around for awhile, solid state. This is sure to last.

3 year warranty, ill be shocked if it breaks. Dont feel the need for a backup, its solid state and 200 watts, lots of headroom. If it breaks down just after the warranty its still cheaper then getting the tubes replaced every 6-12 months.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea, but Kustom has been around for ahwile, im sure its great!

Overall Rating : 10
Play it wit the Kustom 412 A speaker cab, looks great. Im giving it a 10 beacuse you never come across head units like this. Amazing, it finally gives you the clean you need for blues, the distortion you need for blues with a bite, all the way to the distortion needed for all the Zeppelin AC/DC. They should change its name to The Blues Machine.

And the price!! I almost didnt look at it because I thought it was going to be another cheap head. They could sell this at twice its cost.
