Laney World Series 120H head. 120 Watts of solid state mayhem. Has 2 channels: a super vicious high gain channel and a sweet clean channel. Front from left to right: Footswitch jack (mine came without a footswitch) Master Reverb, Master volume, HIGH GAIN CHANNEL: "enhance" button - out gives you a "new metal" type sweet distortion, in gives you a dryer sound with more high end; master knob pull to turn reverb on; treble, mid, and bass with pull on each for boost, gain knob pull for boost. Aux/mix jack - I have no idea what this does really, i stuffed a blank jack in it and both channels came on at the same time. CLEAN CHANNEL: master knob pull for reverb, presence, treble, mid, bass and, the knob that makes the clean channel fun- Gain pull for CRUNCH. Channel selector button, imput jack. I dont really wanna bother with whats on the back because im lazy.
This amp is replacing my L30R Linebacker combo amp (which i have also reviewed on this site). The World Series gets the same sound i loved about the Linebacker and more. I'm using it the same way i was using the Linebacker (read all about it in the Linebacker review). For 100 bucks, i couldnt pass it up and im glad i didnt. It needed the pots cleaned and some internal and external cleaning but i fixed it up good as new.
MINE CAME WITHOUT A FOOTSWITCH. IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE FOOTSWITCH OR HAS ONE THEY COULD SELL ME, EMAIL ME PLEASE!!!
This amp is simple, yet powerful, practical, and able to achive a broad range of sound.

Yes, it's a solid state. No, i don't mind. I actually like solids more than tube actually. You can get a wicked dirty punk/grunge type distortion with crunch and i set the high gain channel to get that sound only louder and with a sweeter tone. Sound is flawless, pefect for what i do (punk/metal type mixture)

Its second hand, its somewhere around 10 years old Im guessing since it doesnt have a date on it. If Laney's other amps are any indication, this head should last me a VERY long time.

I've been playing for about 2 years and review just about everything that comes into my possesion on this site. This amp just simply rocks. If you see one somewhere just buy it, you won't regret it no matter what kind of music you play. If it where stolen i would have to wait outside the thief's house with a baseball bat and a tube of KY Jelly.
Fuck Marshall, get a Laney!!

This solid state amp has two channels, each with separate gain, volume and eq controls. There is a master volume and reverb level control that governs both channels.
The clean channel has a control for bass, mids, treble and presence - you push / pull the volume control to switch reverb on/off and push/pull the gain to get extra super-duper gain.
The high gain channel has the same volume/reverb and gain/super-duper gain controls but loses the presence control. However the tone controls can be pulled out to be "active". There is an enhance button which trims some of the tough edge off the distortion sound.
The footswitch switches between channels and toggles reverb on/off if you've set it to be on on either channel.
There's an effects loop, headphones and DI sockets on the back.

I've used this amp playing in Big Bands, smaller jazz groups and in a soul band and it's done an okay job producing whatever sound required. It doesn't distort like a valve amp or sound as clean as my Roland JC-77 but it's been a great all-rounder and I've never felt limited by it.
The amp can be a big noisy when the gain is up and the clean sound can be a bit harsh. Crunch sound is excellent.
The power is good - even playing behind 15 horns with no PA I've had more than enough volume.

Unbelieveably tough - I've thrown this amp, dropped it and it's been hit by a car but still it never misses a beat. The top of the case is cut away and this leaves the controls a little exposed (sure enough I've lost a few). The case is looking a little cut up now but is still solid.

I've recently bought a Roland JC-77 as I'm playing mostly Jazz stuff these days, however I'm hanging on to my Laney for the odd occasions when I need a crunchy sound (and for backup - the Roland's a bit old!).
I've had 8 years of faithful service and never been let down by this amp.

This amp is versatile enough to cater for many styles of music from classical to very heavy metal. I play stuff like satriani, metallica and rage against the machine. This amp gets a good sound for each one of these bands. The front panel consists of two cool looking rows of shiny chromed knobs and seven little push switches, one input jack and a power switch, a four button footswitch. Each row of knobs has a vibe switch, reverb and fx mix. It has four channels. Two of which are solid state and two which are valve state. All of these are footswitchable. The large number of knobs can be confusing at first but you get the hang of it and they come in handy. It has a clean channel with 3 band eq, mid boost and bright boost. The second drive channel with out the valve has a 3 band eq and enhance switch. The third a valve driven distortion channel uses a 3 band eq and an enhance knob which really scoops the mid out. The fourth is the same as the third except you get a very big sustain boost which allows for heavy metal and other thrashy type styles. It has two effects loops, a line out, headphone socket for when practicing at 2:00 am, a speaker socket for when using a cabinet and midi in out and thru and a footswitch socket for the midi features. All this is contained in a very versatile amp. I use most of the features especially the midi which was worth the extra 100 bucks i paid for it. I am in a grunge style band and it is always loud enough except for sometimes when it makes a grunting sound when i have the bass and volume very high.

I have a Jackson professional with basic stock pickups. The stock pickups on jackson are shocking so i am hoping to get new ones soon. The sounds i get out of this amp are amazing it has a nice rich tone in the valve driven drive channel and the clean channel has a nice cystal clean sound. The solid state drive channel gets an amazing vintage sound which is good for old stuff like zepplin etc. Then you pump it into the 4th channel and get a huge ass beefy sound fit for metal masters. The enhance knobs are awesome the allow you to scoop out the mids for a very beefy sound. The vibe switchs help in this process as well and i always have them down. The sounds are good thru the fx loops and are one of the best loops i have heard. You have your own knob for each loop to mix in the fx. The reverb is fantasic. The sound are bloody awesome. I am so glab i bought this amp. It gets a bit of feedback when gain is high but if you have big stage there is no problems. When you put bass right up and enhance right up and treble down you get a few grunts when volume is high but that is explainable. It works good with pedals, zooms and others thru clean are good and gt3's are good thru the midi. And overall it is very loud but not as loud as you may expect.

I rely on this amp. I take it to gigs and it is fine it is only once i have been pissed at it. It once changed to distortion by it's self..this sorta spoilt the calm mood. But i think it was only the footswitch anyway. The only other complaint is it makes a grunting noise when to bassy. But i have rectified that situation.
It is reliable as a drive it around every second day and there has never been any breakages. Overall it is pretty reliable.

I looked and looked for a good amp for months and then i finally came across the Laney Tube Fusion 400. I looked at Marshall and heard stories of the repair costs that these unrelaible amps give, i looked at many others but when i was told about the features, reliability, strength and sounds this amp gave out i had to play one and when i did i knew it was the amp for me. Then i heard of the laney Tube Fusion 500 M and i thought what the hey an extra few bucks and i can use it through a boss gt3 and other effects units with the midi capabilities.
Overall the sounds, realiability, features and playabilty, although i have had a few problems with my footswitch, even out to make a very f**kin good amp.

This amp has a clean "crunch" channel and a high gain distortion. The sound is variable for everything. From Funk to Black metal. It has an Fxloop and a headphone jack.It has a built-in reverb and that's really great.I use it for gigs and at home.It should be a little louder.

I'm using a gibson les paul studio and a jackson ps-1.It's ok now i'm using noise reduction but otherways you get a interfering noise. The clean channel is too easily distorted, but when you don't put it loud the clean channel rocks!I've had alot of difficulties with the footswitch. It just works when the amp feels like it.
