Im sure the amp is 1989..well thats what the guy who checked it over last said! Origional 16.y.o tubes in it...sounds incredible with even these tubes..but totally roars with Harma STR tubes in!This amp has 2 channels..each with push/pull bright/volume knobs.The head is very versitile and can go from metal monster to bell-like cleans in milliseconds.It has an fx loop,channel switching,footswitch and loads more!I use most of the features on this and do not require any more.I use this amp for gigging and practice..100 watts of tube is loud enough for anyone!

I use it with an ibanez jem and fender strat...this amp can out scream its newer brothers, the gh series with ease!It suits my styles perfectly (shred,heavy metal,blues) and is VERY loud!The head room on this thing is incredible..you can have it on 10 and not have any gain on if you wish..but if you want it..you know what to do!The hi gain channel is only to be heard! The distortion is incredibly brutal..but you can chug out clean riffs too..this thing is incredibly versitile!

I would definatly use it at a gig without a backup..but wan to carry some spare tubes ;)The amp has never broken down in its life and never will( i hope)..

Ive sent e-mails to laney..asking many things..from what fuses and tubes it uses..to what cab they'd reccomend for it...and the sent a very polite answer in a matter of hours...im very impressed!

Ive been playing around 3 years now and not come accross a better amp yet..and never will.
If i were stolen i kill the motha' that stole it and find another,QUICK!Ilove everything about this amp...from its tears in the tolex..to its screaming tones, the only thing i can foult is its got no control knobs..but thats not the manufacturers fault.
I compared it to boogies,marshall's and anything you can think of..and choses this for one reason.TONE.TONE.TONE.TONE It may not look pretty..but definatly sounds it!
