Overdrive, Reverb, Chorus

It sounds pretty good, it is very loud, I like the overdrive but it takes some fidling with to get it to the right level. It sounds more like a tube than most solidstates I've tried.

Reliability : 6
I'm having trouble with the foot switch causing the reverb to not function when plugged in. Otherwise It seems very durable and well built.

There isn't any. I can't get any help with my footswitch problem The only support at the website are a few manulas available for download. I can't sind a phone number or email address. If anyone knows how to contact them feel free to email me.

Overall Rating : 8
For the price its really good, though if I were buying an amp now I'd go all tube, just because my tastes have changed. I'd recomend it to someone looking for a good loud solid-state.

I bought this in 1997. It's fairly versitile thought I've only played primarily alt/rock rhythm through it. In the past I used both channels but found the distorted channel to be too midrangy, especially at low volumes but I suppose that's true of most mid to high powered amps. Speaking of mid-powered, this thing is LOUD! I'd put it up against just about anything else I've ever heard in terms of sheer volume. Since I've only used this in live applications, the chorus, though sounding good, is useless since the speakers are only 3 inches apart. I like the 2-10 speaker combo though even this sounds too midrangy for my tastes.

Sound Quality : 7
I'm using this with a Mexican Strat, a mid-80s ESP Tele and a Univox semiacoustic 12-string and using a DigiTech RP100, and Danelectro FabTone and Daddy-O pedals so I'm not really using the tone of the amp that much but I do notice a wonderful mid-high bite when I turn it up, much like a tube amp. The distortion channel is pretty over the top. When I recorded with it, someone who heard the recording said it sounded a lot like Bob Mould which is what I was going for.

Reliability : 10
This thing has never broken down on me in 4 years of pretty much constant weekend use. I've never had it up past 5 on the master and 3 or 4 on the pre so I'm not really pushing it (did I mention this amp is LOUD!) but absolutely no qualms about not having a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

I've only been playing guitar out semipro for about 6 years but I've been playing music (as a bass player) for over twenty so I've heard a couple of amps. Everything else that had the configuration I was looking for was either too much or, more likely, sounded wimpy. I found the Laney to be fairly versitile but mainly priced right. I'd definitely buy another for a backup if nothing else. They are very dependable.

This amp is probably from 1998 . It's got stereo chorus, is solid state with an electric channel as well as an acoustic. It has 2 10 inch speakers as well as two 1 and 1/4 inch tweeters in the upper corners. When played with a nice distortion pedal, this amp cranks out amazing highs, but not as much lows. .. bummer...

Sound Quality : 7
I play with a yamaha RGZ style guitar as well as my own built guitar with emg pickups. I have to say that the amp isn't all that warm a feeling. Lacks some of the sound that other leading solidstate amps have as far as emulation of a tube amp. I gotta say though, this amp cranks it!!! It get's louder then you will ever need, even for some of the most intense gigs. I have to play over 25 brass instruments in the jazz band. It seriously puts out enough power. The distortion sucks... it has the worst distortion ever, get your own distortion pedal and this amp is a beauty. Though, I'm looking for a much warmer amp.

Reliability : 9
The amp has never broken down on me. Haven't experienced a single problem with it ever. I move it around with me almost everyday from my car, to the practice studio to concerts to back home... throwing it around as always... It's got one really tough case and built amazingly strong.......

OK, well, here we go... NONE! I don't even know where to look to get help with laney amps. I mean, sure... i can bring it back to where I bought it and get help, but where the hell can I get more info on this puppy from the actually company??? Wanted to get the footswitch for it, but have no clue where to find it....

I've been playing for 10 years now. This is only my second amp. I had a Kustom amp (20 watts) as a starter way back in the day. I wish this amp had a little more warm feeling to it. They should have put more effort into tube emulation. I don't know how much this amp should really go for. At least 460 dollars. I got it for cheaper since I knew the store owner... in any case, if you have your own effects, this amp is well worth the money. Very versatile, loud enough (hell yeah), and durable....

First, I play guitar for about 2 year. I don't have a favorite style in particular. It was the first amp I bought, and I still play on it. Concerning this, it's made in Great Britain. It's got 2 different channels, an effect loop, chorus and reverb. It is 2*12'. The equalizer is not too bad, even if it's just treble, medium and bass. The 60 watt are enough for little scene. This amp can be very loud. Perhaps not enough possibily to rule your sound

Sound Quality : 8
I use a Lag Hotline, with one single coil and one humbucker seymor Duncan. The chorus is good, very good for a include effect, I think. The reverb is good. It's not very noisy at high volume, and silencious when u play at home (fortunately...). This amp is very good for pop and clean sound. but I find that the disto is not terrific, of course a tube disto is much better. For blues it also fit, but not terrific as well. The clean canal is very good, and when u give a lot of gain, ther crunch sound are very good.

Reliability : 8
I personnaly transport a lot this amp, and I for the moment it has never failed. Compared to the other amp of this style and price, i can say that this one, with his heavy protection on the corner and in front of the speakers, is above the average

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 7
I play mostly Queen, and for this music this amp is quite good, even if the disto could be better...the clean sound are excellent, for medium clean to very crunchy. I give a 7, because i compare this one to other amp much expensive. For this price, I think it's the best 60 amp u can have.

1999 model effects loop is extremely quiet. great reverb, clean channel is superb, distortion channel isvery good past 4 on the gain. excellent stereo chorus this amp is loud!!

Sound Quality : 9
excellent clean sound-distortion channel is great for rock or metal. variable gain on clean channel really comes in handy for different guitars and styles.

needs metal input jacks, plastic sux!!! other than that,no complaints

The GC 60C is a very versatile amp, altough we seem to have the preconceived notion that all British made amps are made for hard rock (e.g. Marshalls) and some for a softer, bluesier rock (e.g. Trace Elliot). It features a common gain for both channels, an overdrive section consisting of drive and level, a common equalization, a master volume and a chorus effect, consisting of rate and depth controls. A wide tonal range can be obtained from the amp partly due to these controls. The amp also features an effects loop, which, altough I don't use much, works fantastically for chorus and delay pedals (the only effects I've tried on it), without "sucking" the tone. The built-in chorus is good, altough I've found it works best as a vibrato generator, but it also works well as a "normal" chorus. The overdrive sounds pretty good also, but i'd rather get it from my Boss DS-1 stompbox, since it's not as raw as i'd like it to be.The amp also has a headphone jack. As far as volume goes, the amp is can be VERY loud, or it can be made to sound quieter, but either way it still sounds very powerful.
But perhaps one of the features that I most apreciate is the torroidal transformer the amp sports, which makes it sound almost (if not totally) exactly like a tube amp although it's a solid state. I'm serious! This feature, along with the amplifier's soft-clipping distortion and it's HH custom-manufactured speakers make this amp a very good investment, sound-wise and price-wise, as well as drastically affecting it's tone for the better.

Sound Quality : 9
The amp fits my music style (alternative/punk rock) very well, as well as many other styles. I especially like to turn it's midrange all the way up (which I absolutely hated doing with my old Peavey amp) along with the distortion from the DS-1, which sounds great. I run it through an American Standard Strat, with single-coils, instead of the ol' Les Paul + British amp combination, making it sound rawer and with a more cutting tone.

Reliability : 8
Physically, the amp is very reliable, sporting a thick metalic wire cover instead of the normal grille cloth found in most amps. It's never broken down, though I've had it for about 4 months only. If I could afford one, I'd use a backup, although I seriously doubt the amp would fail me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with the company.

Overall Rating : 9
I would definitely buy it again. I really like it's sound, it has the soul of British amps but the in-your-face sound of most american amps, since Laney claims it was made with the American player in mind, using British technology and design.
