This is for the GS112VE Extension cab for the VC30-112/210 series 30 Watt Amplifier

Power - RMS 75 Watts
Inputs - Single Jack
Outputs - Single Jack
Impedance - 8 Ohms
Drivers - 1 x 12" Celestion 70 Eighty
Cabinet Design - Premium custom designed closed-back extension cabinet optimised for use with VC30 210 & VC30 112
Weight - 16 Kg
Dimensions (mm) - 559 x 420 x 250

I bought the GS112VE extension cab as a compliment to my VC30-210. I wanted to get the low end of a 12" driver with the mid chime of the 10"ers in the Amp. Upon taking it out of the shipping box, I found out it was actually made in China, not England like the VC30 is. Bummer. The good thing about it is that it perfectly matches the VC30-112/210's dimensions and makes for a great looking club sized combo stack.

*NOTE - this WILL NOT mount under a VC30-212. The 212 is dimensionally bigger and Laney DOSENT make an extension cabinet at this time to fit it.

Sound Quality : 10
As far as the sound goes - Its perfect for what I play - Heavy Blues using my various Gibson LES's and SG's. This cab does exactly what I was hopping it would do, give the amp a great bottom end. The Celestion Seventy 80 in it sounds great tame and even better with the amp past 5 or so. It Compliments the two 10" Jensen Specials perfectly. I was using a custom Lopo Line birch 1x12 extension cab with an Eminence Modeling 12 with the amp, but its a square cab and has to be used beside the VC30-210, not under it. Also the Eminence Modeling 12 is actually a zero sound coloring speaker and designed to be used with a modeling type amp, where you want DSP or COSOM integrity. I had been using it with my LANEY TFX300X, but I decided to make the switch to 30 watt Class A and all tube.

Reliability : 10
Its an extension cabinet - not much that can go wrong with it. Its built like a tank

Customer Support : 1
Unfortunately, since Ibanez is no longer Laneys customer support source here in the USA (which at the time was excellent), Laney's Customer Care is virtually non-existant. I havn't had any problems to speak of yet with any of the Laneys I've owned over the years - but - having to ship one back to England for warranty work sounds aweful.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall, the cab sounds great, is well made and fits perfectly under my VC30-210. My only complaint is that its actually made in China and not England - Laney dosent let that out and neither do their selling distributors. I try to keep my China purchases to a minimum for a number of reasons (quality still isn't up to Japanese or US or EU standards, its still a communist nation, etc.) But, the good thing is, it actually is a decent product and made just about as well as the British amp. I have been a Guitar player for over 25 years and the addion of it under the VC30 sounds terrific. As a side comment, its funny to note that I have an amplifier, thats made in England, with on-board Italian speakers (Jensens), and an extension cab, thats made in China, with an English speaker. Hows that for global economy.
