15w, solid state combo, 8'' speaker, 2 channels, bass+mid+treb, reverb, 1 input, headphones, line in.

Sound Quality : 8
the clean channel it's really clean and it's not noisy. the lead channel ranges from very light over drive, good for blues, to pretty heavy distorsion, good for punk. the reverb is nice, better than my room mate's fender sideckick reverb (35w). i use this amp with a fat tele (single coil in the neck, humbucker in the bridge).

Reliability : 8
it seems solid, but I never gigged with it.

I play since I was 16, now I'm 26. I also owned a couple of amps before, I don't remember their names, but they were more powerful (20w and 40w). I compared it with a fender sidekick reverb (35w) and I prefer the laney because it has 2 channels and a better reverb. I wish it had a 10'' speaker as the bass frequencies are lacking (I set the bass pot at 10 to compensate). I also wish it had a foot switch for the channel selection, but I think it's easy to put it on, just have to try. with those 2 things I would give it 10. I would buy it again if stolen or broken.
it's small, light, solid, versatile, good sounding, perfect for practicing. I'm very happy with it.

Simple no nonsense solid state 15 watt amp with reverb, CD in and overdrive. Light weight and compact too.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a G&L and a Tele, mostly country, rockabilly and some blues.

This was my first bedroom practice amp since my Fender tube amp is much too loud for home. I have been hunting for a small compact amp which can faithfully reproduce my guitar's tones without significant coloration. I have tried and used Marshalls (MG15CDR), Fenders, Peaveys and the likes, but this little Laney is the closest I can get to simple, clear sound without throwing in its own tonal flavor.

The marshalls don't sound so nice for light music, the behringers with their modeling is really weird, the Vox'es sound ok but I didn't like them much.

I never use the distortion, but I guess at a pinch it would do. It doesn't sound particularly nice anyway, and I don't use such heavy distortion.

Reliability : 10
It has worked fine for me so far. Been a couple of years, hasnt given me trouble. I only use it at home.

not needed.

This is probably one of the best sounding small / home amps around. It brings out the natural sound of the guitar without any coloration like the marshalls and mesa boogies do. At this price, it is quite worth it. Yeah I'd have liked it to be a bit more ballsy, but with a small speaker and compact size this is probably as good as it gets.

clean channel also dirty channel able to play cd or other sorts audio.

Sound Quality : 10
Very nice amp for the money no skimming around with this product. The best amp for the price anything in this ballpark falls short. Fender nice amp but its a fender and no reverb what up with that sorry there is a reverb model. However nice rich sound out of both channels chean and dirty. This amp is a cross between a marshall and a fender.

can say just got it!

nice small practice amp not to small and not not big like some other amps. I notice this amp is pretty loud for the size. I usually am fuzzy about amp. Some amp cut it while other cant cut the mustard I find this amp refreshing compare to the usuall amp out there. Good luck and enjoy I thing it's a good deal for the money.

For $100 (U.S.), I'd say its one of the best practice amps you can buy. The 6.5 in. speaker is good for bedroom volumes but I wouldn't gig with it on my life. 2 channles, headphone jack, and reverb are it's key features.

Sound Quality : 8
I'v only been playing for a year, I'm playing an ESP M-50, through it. It sounds great when playing rock w/ heavy distortion at moderate volumes. If you take the volume past 5 w/ high gain, the sound starts to get weak and the tone quality goes down. The clean channle starts to get noisy when the vol. goes past 5. Overall the amp sounds great at bedroom volumes (especially w/ heavy distortion) but any louder and it starts to lose its punch.

Reliability : 6
I'v only had it for a year and theres only been one real problem with it. A few months back the speaker would get real quiet for no reason in the middle of playing somthing, I think the problem was some lose wiring between the amp and the speaker. So last month I turned the amp around and "jiggled" the wires to the speaker a little and its been fine ever since.

For 100 bucks I think its the best practice amp out there.

Bought new in 2001. I play classic rock, SRV to EVH. Two channels, clean and crunch, channel switching through a push button (no footswitch). No effects loop. Has a headphone jack. Solid state of course. Has a decent reverb. 8" speaker (it's not 12 like the title of this review thread might suggest). Good features for a practice amp.

Sound Quality : 9
Les Paul, Kramer with Duncan CC bridge, APH-1 in neck. Style is as I said above, classic rock, SRV to EVH. It's a quiet amp (once I got a decent cable!) The clean channel is good, but the distortion is outstanding for such a small package. It pretty much smokes any other amp in it's category (~100 dollar solid state practice amp). I tried Marshall, Peavey and Fender and none of their distortions could touch this Laney. Crank the distortion channel's gain and you've got a decent(but a bit buzzy) early EVH brown sound. Back it off and you've got a good blues crunch.

The little 8" speaker sounds excellent! It belies it's small size. When I played it in the store I asked the guy "How big is that speaker, it's definatly not an 8 incher!" Was amazed when I saw it, a small 8" speaker with a very big magnet on it.

Only drawback on the sound is through headphones the distortion really loses its character. Very tinny and buzzy. I think this shows that the amp gets great sound via the speaker, not the electronics.

Reliability : No Opinion
Only use it for practice, very dependable. Don't gig with it.

Been playing over 20 years, wanted a small practice amp for home. I've got my big Marshall 2x12 combo at the house where the band practices. I really like this little amp, it doesn't sound like a larger tube amp by any streatch (of course), but it buries the competition!

Brand new, probably 2002 made. It has clean and distortion channel, 3 band equalizer : low, mid, high. Open back. Reverb button available, but you better not set the knob more than 3 o'clock, otherwise it starts hissing. There is on input jack and headphone input. Nice looking and finishing.

Sound Quality : 8
This is a great little amp, and cheap too. You can't get better one with this price. Before deciding to buy this amp, I compared it with Peavey rage 158, Washburn Bad dog series, Rebel and Prince. Laney really beats em all!! The clean channel is nice, and the distortion is warm -- surprisingly good sometimes I can trust it to bypass my overdrive pedal. I use Ibanez RG with dual humbucker,Korg guitar processor and plug into this little giant. I play mostly 80's and 90's rock, and the amp is doing a good job. Pretty loud too for a bedroom practise. The only problem is the reverb . It's kinda noisy especially when you start to turn the knob up to 3 o' clock. So I prefer to use reverb from my Korg processor.

It's brandnew, with 1 year guarantee, non problem so far. I bought it from an authorized dealer, but I hope I won't have to deal with them for repair.

I've been playing for 5 years and this is the second practise amp I have. I think for its price this is the best practise amp I've tried so far. I'd definitely buy it again if it's stolen. Buy this if you want a small, powerfull amp with good sound and cheap price.

all the features listed above, CD in line allows two to play at once aswell, although it sounds clean and muted, its still fun! no footswitch, buy the next model up if you want one...

Sound Quality : 10
i play a les paul clone with two dimarzio superdistortions, this amp sounds great, it handles the output of the humbuckers very nicely and allows you to scoop the mids which is nice, the 'crunch factor' is very good for an amp of this price, laney are masters when it comes to dirty amp sounds! cleans up very nicely too!
better distortion than most fx pedals to my ears!

Reliability : 10
no problems as yet! very well built, nice plastics...

na, but my friends inform me that laney are easy to contact

Overall Rating : 10
i would recommend this amp to any begginer or simply as a small practice amp, with 15 watts its still pretty loud, i think this amp has the best in built distortion you could get at this price, i chose it over a fender for this reason

Features Clean Volume, switchable "Crunch Factor" (distortion with increasing compression)with separate Crunch Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, and most importantly, Reverb. CD/Line input lets you sound like you're playing with the band. Headphone jack lets you keep the parents from getting angry! What more could you ask for from a $100 amp? It's a great little practice amp!

Sound Quality : 9
I use a Washburn BT mini with 2 Humbuckers. I like the way it sounds. It doesn't buzz like some other amps. The tones are great. The crunch is fun and has good settings. It gets a little noisy as you turn up the crunch factor, but my dad says that a noise gate will fix that problem. They probably should have built one in. Clean sounds are great also. It plays pretty loud when my parents let me.

Reliability : No Opinion
Ihaven't had it long enough, but it seems well built.

I have no need to call, so far.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar for less than a year. When we compared with the other small amps at the store (Washburn, Vox, Marshall) this one sounded best by far, especially if the other amp didn't have a reverb. Once I heard the crunch, I really wanted this amp.
