This is a 120W rms head with real tube drive (even if it is strangely hidden). It's got two channels, only one of them has the tube drive (which is really what this amp is about). I got this amp becuase of it's versatility, because I play everything from blues to metal. The best feature is the four way footswitch, with a channel switch (A or B) a reverb switch (on or off) and a drive swtich for each channel; it's a bit like having four channels

I think it was made in 2001, you can get the user manual from the laney website at http://www.laney.co.uk/html/Downloads/Manuals/TubeFusionv6.pdf

It's got three sets of EQ, and the EQ does actually make a difference to the sound unlike some other amps.

Sound Quality : 9
It doesn't sound as nice as the all tube heads I tried while shopping around, but it's still pretty sweet. It's got the depth that [I think] you only get with a tube.

I'm playing it through a no-name quad-box with greenbacks and an old ibanez RX with stock pickups (who needs a guitar upgrade? I do.)

It is a little noisy like the other guy said, and the drive on channel A isn't too convincing, but the tube drive is what I was looking for.

With everything on Ten the distortion loses it's quality, but it's loud enough to gig with, the cleans stay clean regardless. It's not quite the super-saturated iron-maiden sound I wanted but I can play metal through it convincingly (although I think it would be better for hard rock.)

Reliability : 10
I got it second hand and it works a treat, but I've only had it a month so it hasn't been through much yet...

Great value for what I paid compared to what else is on the market, it was either that or a JCM900 which cost more and don't sound as good.

I love the amp cos it's kind of ugly and it isn't perfect but it does exactly what I wanted, something I can use to get a band and gig with, and maybe upgrade when I have a few grand lying around spare.

Made in 2001. Has two channels, each with it's own "underchannel"..which basically give four channels.
Channel A has solid state clean and solid state crunch, whereas channel B has tube drive and tube drive 2 (lead).
Also has three-band EQ for each channel, reverb..."Vibe" buttons and so on.
A lot of features for not too much money.

Sound Quality : 8
The clean is exactly that; CLEAN!
I don't really use the Crunch feature too much, since I'm more into metal, but it has an okay sound to it...adds versatillity I guess.
Channel B offers what I crave the most; tube DRIVE!!!
Channel B's rythm is really good for hard rock and metal rythm, whereas the Channel B lead (which I prefer the most), offers even more gain, for soaring leads or really, really heavy chunking.
The sounds I can tweak out of it are really, really versatile. My only wish is that it should have even more gain, seing as I've converted to black/death metal...

Reliability : 10
This thing can't be broken...
It has been standing in my practise locale, where a LOT of other people violate my amp, simply because it's the biggest and baddest in the builing... and still, it sounds as if new. Laneys are built to last!

Haven't had any problems...probably won't either

Overall Rating : 8
Been playing for two years, so I'm not really that experienced...I know what good sound is though, and this amp's quite versatile and reliable and packs a punch.

I Bought this amp at the end of '99 and at first i was not very impressed as i bought it brand new and so i had to start from scratch tweeking the knobs. it took hours due to the fact that there are millions of knobs on the front of this thing, which now that i have the sounds that i want, can only be a good thing. this amp has four seperate footswitchable channels and you can get any tone you like from it. this amp is great for everything from sparkling cleans to mental distortions. the effects loop options on the amp are far superior to anything i have ever seen before, 3 in total. the only feature on this amp that i find not useful is the mid boost on the clean channel.

Sound Quality : 9
i use several les pauls with this amp and mostly play in the super distortion channel which is fantastic for heavy rock, but as i mentioned before, the features mean that it will fit any music style or preference. i dont know how well the clean channel does at high volumes as i only use the drive channels in my live set, but i have used it in the studio and it sounded good at 7 so that has to be a good indicator. there is little noise from it at large gain settings.

Reliability : 10
I have only had the thing for a couple of months but it has already had countless pints of lager poured over it with no problems, this is a reliable amp.

Customer Support : 10
i have only had a problem once as when the amp arrived and i took it out of the box there was no footswitch. i promptly contacted laney who immediately dispatched one to me. i was stomping away within 2-3 days.

Overall Rating : 9
overall this is a quality amp which holds up well to my life on the road the only effects i use are a cry baby, and various distortions for solos and thats it. it also looks cool and far better than any boring marshall.

This amp is made in 1999 and it has four channels. It also has three different effects loops. 1 for the clean and drive channels, one for the two distortion channels and one global loop for them all. That is absolutely great! It also has a headphone jack if you want to keep the sound down or don't have a cab it makes the amp sound pretty harsh though.

This amp is 120w which is enough power to play major outdoor gigs without any problems.

The construction is well made, the pre-amp is two tubes and the power amp is solidstate. This gives you the sweet sound of hot tubes on the dirt channels and the sparkling clean of solidstate on the clean channel.

It's great for heavy music, I play Pantera, Metallica, Manowar, Sepultura, some Dio, SRV and Rolling Stones this amp can take it all!

Sound Quality : 10
I use a ESP Explorer with EMG pu's with this amp and it is the best setup you can think of. The clean is very fat and sparkelng and the distortion can go from soft blues to AC/DC and from the Rolling Stones
to Pantera or Metallica. The distortion is realy great on this amp!

It's not noisy at all thanks to the solidstate power amp.
When I turned the volume all the way up and hit the strings, man, that was like standing in the middle of a nuclear blast!

Great sound!

Reliability : 9
This is where the solid state power section realy is the big plus. It can't break. I can't think of any situation when this amp is going to fail me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't know about this and I don't think I will ever find out. This amp is built like a tank.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for a lot of years and I have had amps coming and going: Marshall, Mesa, Peavey, but in this amp I have found the right sound combined with the reliability I was looking for. All-tube amps break down too much and it's expensive to change the tubes.

I was lucky to find this amp. I think that they are pretty hard to get a hold of (people just won't sell this baby once they get it!) but I'm happy I did.

If you find one, get it. You won't regret it!
