I'll try not to repeat information already offered. I found it light weight compared to the heavy wooden models and road worthy since it's from the proline leslie models. Road cases are hard to find for this size and Tookie or other companies can custom make a cover for around $65.00 dollars. I play a Roland VK7 organ through this unit and the organ sound incredible compared to the VK-7 built in leslie simulator. No comparison between the two and the 825 smokes the simulator. I also own a Line 6 leslie simulator for guitar and while it does sound pretty good, it can't beat the real rotating speaker sound! I have plugged my guitar into the Leslie Pre-amp as well and it makes it worth hauling the 825 across the country to gigs. I have two input channels on the pre-amp with seperate controls can use it for guitar or keys. I run a Line 6 Pro Pod for my guitar and it has an extra output so I can run a cable to the 825. I struggled with the idea of just using a light weight simulator and saving the room in the trailer as well as making some extra cash on Ebay by selling the 825. No way! The 825 won hands down and goes everywhere! The 100 watts is more than I need in the casinos since we run in ear monitors and like to keep it quiet on stage. I've tried to put case lids around the vents to and slip a mic inside, but you really need proper ventilation for the amp inside. A plexi shield is what I've used lately and I'm hoping to find a better way to mic the cab besides the SM-57. It's sad to hear this thing through ear buds as it deserves to be heard in the open air.

The pre-amp can be turned up for a very healthy growl and the VK-7 also offers over drive. Otherwise, it's very clean and so full sounding for a 12" speaker! I also run a Variax 300 guitar with Line 6 Pro Pod and get a killer sound with the 825 cab. I play 50's and 60 rock in one band and classic rock in another. The 825 turns heads everywhere! I get a little mic sound when the rotor is turning fast, but perhaps a different mic with a wind screen would solve this.

Have spoken with dealers and like the last guy said... they only wish to sell you the new digital junk. No thanks!

I've been playing since I was a kid and I'm 48 and still playing full time. If it were stolen, I would be very bummed, but would replace it. I would like to have the horn rotor for the top, but oh well.

Uhm, It's a Leslie, the small brother of the famous 760. Where the 760 has the spinning horns and rotating 15" bass, the 825 only has a rotating 12" speaker.
Where the 760 is a huge big fat motherf...., the 825 is much smaller and can be lifted by a single person.
It has the standard 9-pin connector for a Hammond X5 and you'll need a ComboPreAmp to be able to connect other instruments with a jack-plug.

Aaaahhhhh.... I thought it would never beat my 760 on stage, but for a small gig the 825 will blow away every other amplified instrument.
Loud, screaming, roaring, with two speeds it has everything you'll ever need.

Just check once a year if the rubber belt is still okay, and it could use a small drip of oil now and than. It has been working for more than 30 years, and can have another 30 years with ease.

I'll never try to contact Hammond-Suzuki ever again. They just want to sell you new digital shit.

I would certainly buy another one if this one would be lost (same for my 760). But considering the reliability and my own handy hands, I'd be very suprised if one of them would ever break down.
I use it with a Hammond X5.

This is a late 70's rotating speaker cabinet with a 100 watt transistor amp. To use this for guitar you need to have the preamp. I take the line out feed of my Super Champ into one of these, and let me tell you; there is NOTHING on this planet that can properly simulate a spinning speaker. There is something very special about that moving sound. The fast speed is a little much except for high power soloing, but the slow sweep sound will make you play stuff you didn't know was in you. You can also stop the rotor on this model so you can just use it for some extra umph on the low end. This cabinet with the Super Champ is the best sounding live rig I've come up with yet. I've owned over 300 amps ranging from small practice amps up to a double Marshall stack rig(nice old ones at that). As for a versatile rig, nothing can touch my Super Champ/825 set up. These show up on ebay all the time, but you sure don't want to pay to ship one. Big and heavy. Look around and you may be able to find one locally. You won't be sorry. Oh yea, they work great for keyboards too, go figure.
