Hugely versatile range of sounds but many were rendered useless by me while back. Amp tries to offer a sound for everyone and succeeds, but can'thelp thinking its a bit of a gimmick. Not what you want if your looking for a speciallised sound that you will always use. Pretty flashing lights come up each time you turn it on.

High rating based purely on number of different tones - not quality of them.

Sound Quality : 8
Sound quality stays genrally good but some buzzing presents itself when guitar close to the amp. Find it best with neck pickups with my jap fender strat. Best clean tone is blues setting with no gain, gives a full, warm tone.

Reliability : 4
has had a couple of sketchy moments where has quieted down for no apparent reason. Also produced violent buzzing at some moments. Seems to be magically fine again now though.

Couldnt buy one of these amps expecting it to last ages really.

Been playing for about 5 or 6 years. Am about to replace this amp with a 30watt laney valve amp of the same size as i love change and havn't found something good enough to stick with yet. Love the pretty colours and amusingly useless tones. Hate the metal tones, basically all metal tones sound like crap anyway. :)

It has a great range of sounds though, but not a lot in between clean and super-heavy.

Anything i whish it had? Yeah - valves!

This is not a review. It's a comment.
Digital amps that have speaker simulations must be played through a flat response speaker to actually use the cab sims.
Otherwise, the filters used to create the tone of a given speaker / cab arrangement colors the sound too. (based on the fact that certain speaker / cab arrangements actually have huge, very distinct differences in the tone of your amp / guitar.)
I know this is true, as I have the opposite problem with my digital amp. I have to shut off the speaker sims for playing live through my marshall Cab(s.) Which then requires that you completely re-EQ the sounds patches, leaving you with two sets of sounds; one for live playing, and the other for recording. (of course, they sound nothing alike.)
So, the only way to keep a common bank of sounds for live work, and recording is to use a loud-speaker that does not color the sound too much. (Which really only leaves line 6 and PA speakers to choose from.)
So, line 6 cabs are pretty much designed for use with their amps.
Playing a valve head through one of these cabs, (unless you actually want a flat sound for your costly Marshall or Mesa valve head.) will sound very much like ass.

Straight ahead 2x12 cab, but the fact that it is only 2x12 but still has casters is a big plus. Also, I like the look and, size and feel of this cab.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm using two guitars with this cab; a Blade R4 with EMG pickups, and a Gibson ES-175. They both go through a Mesa/Boogie Mark III 60 watt head through to the cab.
I understand the reservations some guys have had about this cab, but for my style and with this gear, it really is perfect. I play jazz and funk, and it just sounds sweet. If i was more into rock than I am I'd probably go for a Marshall cab, but for my kind of sound I actually like this cab better. It projects clean sounds beautifully and slight overdrive just as well. If i crank up the drive it sounds a bit less defined than a Marshall, but for blues , jazz that sort of thing it sounds punchy, big and warm.
I'd still call it versatile though. Especially my Blade with EMG's sounds fantastic through this cab.

Reliability : 8
Looks like very good quality. I trust this cab.

Never dealt with Line6

I am a professional guitarist and I have been playing for 15 years. If this cab was stolen I would seriously consider getting a new one. Could also live with a 1936 Marshall 2x12, though.
Thought it was a bit pricey.

2x12 cabinet. Definately oversized compared to other 2x12 which to me is a good thing.

Sound Quality : 5
I do like this cabinet. In fact I use two of them. When they're stacked together they're more than a foot taller than a standard 4x12 cab. However, to somewhat agree with the other comment, these speakers are voiced differently than other cabs. The EQ curve on these is about as flat as they can get. Line 6 did this on purpose so you could hear the true voice of the amp models assuming you're ussing one of their amps. I personally use the POD Pro with a tube power amp. I can't say that I'm a fan of the speakers being so flat. I definately love the size of these cabs so I'll be replacing the speakers shortly.

Reliability : 10
These are made as good as any cab out there. They come with casters even though they're 2x12 so that's a big plus.

I've emailed and spoke with Line 6 many times. Always more than helpful.

Overall Rating : 5
Like I said, it needs to have the speakers replaced for my tastes. But for the majority of folks, these cabs will be a great tool.

NA-It's a two speaker cabinet. Features are not an issue

Ok, I opened up this portion as a kind of rant page. This cabinet sounds ok when hooked up to a Pod Pro, but when it sounded pretty bad when I hooked it to a Marshall head just as an experiment. The Pod Pro itself is great, but other people I have talked to have expressed some reservations about the sound quality of Line 6 speakers as well.

I believe part of the problem is it's frequency response is geared to be more like that of a PA than of a traditional guitar cabinet.

If anyone else has a strong refutation of what I'm saying here, let me know, because I am thinking of exchanging the cabinet for a pair of real studio monitors, and then getting something like a Marshall 1936 2X12 as my gigging cabinet. I have read on Line 6's own patch forum that the POD's will sound ok in live mode with a normal (ie: not Line 6) guitar cabinet if you turn *all* cabinet effects off...in other words leave the back switch in 'studio' setting even when playing live, and set the cabenet type to 'none'.

Comments, anyone?

Reliability : 9
Looks very durable, and I like the fact that they mounted casters on it, even though it's only a 2X12. Still, I can't give a really meaningful opinion here, since I've only had the cab for 3 weeks.

The best way to use Line 6 customer support is to check out the forums and use 'peer' support, *grin*.

Overall Rating : 6
The main point here was that this cabinet is very PA-ish. Better to get a real PA or monitors, and a normal-responding guitar cab such as a Marshall. Yeah, ok ok I like Marshall cabs so sue me *snicker*.
