As an amatuer with limited funds, this amp offered the most bang for the buck. I debated between this amp and the Crate GLX 212. The bottom line? This amp sounds better. The effects are good quality, and I like being able to store 4 different settings. It is also very LOUD. I have no problem hearing myself with live drums, with the Master Volume set to 7. I do wish it had an external speaker jack, but since I do not play large venues, it was not a critical issue for me.

Sound Quality : 10
I am playing a Kramer Stryker through this amp, and it sounds a bit muddy...my friends Strat sounds PERFECT through this amp. I like all the tones of this amp, but Crunchy is my least favorite...doesn't have enough "bite" for me. My favorite model is Retro...wonderful bottom end, and perfect for the style of music we play (Sabbath, ACDC, etc). I generally switch to Insane for solos, cuz the sustain is forever...but I back off on the gain to about 10 o'clock position. I also really lke the Twang tone...it sparkles and cuts through the mix just right. Do these amp models REALLY sound like their namesake's? I honestly don't know...I have never played a Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Dumble, etc.....all I can say is I like the tones...I can always find the tone I want...without spending 30 minutes fiddling with knobs!

Reliability : No Opinion
I can't really comment...I have only owned it a month.

Customer Support : 9
I can say the Company has responded to all my emails so far. I purchased an extended warranty, so I don't expect any problems.

Overall Rating : 10
I am not a professional. I play for fun, and enjoy jamming with friends. I have been playing off and on for 30 years, and have owned 4 amps in the past, including a Fender Bassman and a Laney 212. This is by far the best amp I have owned to date. Best in tone, and best in features. I spent about 3 months researching before I bought this amp. And this amp was by far the best value I could find. I would have to spend at least $1200 dollars to find anything I liked better.

I bought this amp brand new because I was very impressed with the features which ae listed on their website. Seemed like a perfect solution for someone who wanted a compact amp with built-in effects so it would be a little more mobile.... should have known better. The features are great but the sound sucks.

I play for a church of about 400 people every Sunday and I play in a small rock band on the side. The distortions on this amp were OK but as soon as I put it on the clean channel allowing my Digitech RP2000 to take over, I knew it time to return it. Sucky is the only word to describe what I heard. I tried every adjustment I could find and nothing seemed to help. I started out on a Gibson les Paul Special and a Fender Hot Rod DeVille410 amp. I loved that sound unfortunately, they were stolen. The bad thing about my old amp was the size and weight. It was a monster and carrying around everywhere twice a week was such a chore so I was looking for something a little smaller to take its place. I bought a Parker Fly Deluxe and this amp. The guitar sounds good on every other amp in my church except for this one. Maybe I got a defect but as far as I'm concerned, this is apiece of crap. I usually respect Line 6 products but this is just nasty.

I didn't keep it around long enough

Just returned it. Didn't bother trying to deal with the company.

I've been playing for about five years and I wish this amp would have been stolen instead of my old Fender. I checked out some other amps that had the same features but the price was too good to pass up on this amp so I thought I'd give it a try. Let me tell you, you get what you pay for. I learned my lesson, I'm going back to my Fender.

Pretty versatile amp. I can use it to go from blues to metal and anywhere in between. I just wished the Floorboard wasn't so damn expensive because there's not enough patches with the FB4 alone.

Sound Quality : 8
I use a Epiphone LP Gold top '57 reissue with EMG 81 and 85 and a GAX75. Both sound pretty good through it. I use mostly the Clean, Twang, Recto, and Insane I was having some trouble with the tone, especially the distortion, for a bit...felt to muddy and not clear. I decided to do something out of the ordinary(an article I read suggested this) and eased up on the drive dial, cut back alot with the bass and treble, and raised the mids. I finally got the tone I was looking for. The Insane didn't sound so generic and I'm kinda tired with that "Nu-Metal" sound. My girlfriend told me I got an 80's sound out of it, which I wanted. I did the same thing with the Recto setting and got the same results, getting a more 70's-ish sound/ kinda punky and I like it. Planning on adding a compression/sustainer pedal to even out/ boost the tone. I know this company has been taking a lotta flak and nothing can replace a good quailty tube sound, but work with the dials and you can get some great sounds out of this little amp. I used it at a gig once and it sounded great. I could definalty hear myself over the rest of the band.

Reliability : 9
I haven't had any problems with it yet and it's a used amp.

I've been playing on and off for 10 years now. I'm really not much of a gear person and this is my second amp. I think its features are great for what it is. Don't thing that your going to get that "tube" tone that everyone is looking for or want. But if you need a versatile amp that's good for small gigs or practice this definatly should be in consideration. Again trust your ears instead of someone elses. I enjoy the sounds that are coming out and will probably keep this amp for a while.

a very good amp. its very easy to use. it's worked for many shows i've played, and has held up. the recto is more my sound, but if you can get the insane to sound the way you want, its not to bad. i like the saving channels it has, much easier to deal with. i have the 12 channel floorboard, which is a nice accessory. with that i can take out/put on effects i want right from there. the tap is a nice idea to choose what echos you want and how far apart. i'm disappointed that there is no line out. seperate reverb knob is a plus. for shows i've played it has worked great, loud enough to do the playing, never even had to turn it up past 6. the channel volume is also plus, letting you turn up or down the channels after you have it all equalized out. i wish there was a line out though.

Sound Quality : 9
i've liked the sounds...i've used the recto the most, insane has been hard to get with out squealing out. but i like the distoritions. clean, twang, and blues are all nice. i dont use much crunch because its not my style, but it also sounds good. the effects are awesome...chorus, flange, tremelo, tap echo, ping pong, delay and reverb. saving channels is great.

Reliability : 9
this amp has not broken down yet. i depend on this amp very much, and it hasnt failed me yet. but i give it a 9 because i've only had it a year and a half and i dont know if something can happen more in the future.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent dealt with the company yet.

ive been playing 5 years, and it has been the best. if it were stolen i'd buy another one, but right now i'm getting to the point of buying a bigger amp. but i'm not so sure of the flextone II HD after reading some of the reviews of the buzzing noise. the only thing i dont like is the no line out. i recommend it to anyone.

This amp is tough it has everything i need 6 amp models, and flange, chorus, tremelo, ping pong, reverb, delay, and tap echo you can also set the tempo. Its a great amp and i dont understand why everyone says it shity cause they dont know what there talking about.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a fender strat, It suits my music style great, The amp makes all the sounds mentioned above which you can tune to your liking. The sound is good a high volumes. The insane can be a little much if you dont set the drive to high.

Reliability : 10
Its been beat around and is still in great shape. Ive had no problems.

I don't own the amp, but I tried it out at Sam Ash today and was extremely impressed with the sounds (especially on the Recto setting). Then I saw that they had a used one for a couple hundred off. I plugged into that and set the settings exactly the same, and it sounded RIDICULOUSLY BAD. There was no bottom end, and the sound was thin on every setting. I kept checking to make sure that I didn't have the mid turned up to 10 and bass and treble at 0. I couldn't believe that an amp could make such a terrible noise. I don't understand, the new one sounded so good I was about to buy it. But the used one (which looked brand new on the outside) was aweful. Do they all start sounding like crap after you use them for a little bit? Just thought I should let you know about my experience.

6 amp models - clean, twang, blues, crunch, recto and insane. 4 channels to basically save whatever settings you have. you can switch to these with the knobs(nice but they should have like 20 channels to save). 50 watts, it's amazingly loud for a little 50watter. great fuckin' amp BUT THERE'S NO FUCKIN' LINE OUT. I MEAN HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSSED TO HOOK UP AND EXTERNAL SPEAKER OR ANYTHING!?!?!?!?! that's the only thing missing though. oh yeah the channels are footswitchable, there's 6 effects - one knob with chorus, flanger and tremolo, the other knob with delay, tape echo and ping pong. great sounding can be tweaked nicely and the reverb which is a seperate knob is kickass

Sound Quality : 9
i play through a stock jackson rr3 rhoads(which is going to get seymourized today) and an esp mh300. both guitars sound great through the amp. the clean can get noisy at high volume due to fuckin' high output pickups so turning down the gain and the volume knob on the guitar HELPS A LOT. the insane is too fuckin' insane. my favorite distortion setting is drive 10, bass 9, mid 7, treble, 10, volume, halfway(this is channel volume), chorus halfway, really fast tape echo halfway, extra distortion and volume boost and noisereduction which can be accesed by pressing the tap button and tweaking knobs. this amp can do a lot. i'm gonna get the cheap shit footswitch because the big line6 floorboard is too expensive and my main goal is a marshall so i'm not gonna be an ultra line6 player forever, i don't know.

Reliability : No Opinion
seems pretty fuckin' reliable. i bought this used, there's some scratches and stuff on it so i'm guessing this thing has been through gigs. i don't think i'm gonna rate anything till i actually play live and hear it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
i e-mailed them once. i was bitching about the missing line out. i really needed that feature. they sent me this dumb e-mail explaining how they needed to leave out some features to make it more affordable(yeah right). but they replied in like a day so i guess they'll attend to complaints the same way

Overall Rating : 9
i've been playing for about 2 years now. it's weird, i've learnt quite a bit about equipment. this amp kicks ass. it's the best damn practice amp out there if you can afford and it's pretty good for gigs as well(because it's fuckin' loud), although the line out would have helped. if you have the money you should buy this amp. if you have a little more money and want something like this, go for the fuckin' flextone or the marshall avt150 it's fuckin' awesome.

Mine is a 2001 Spider 210 with version 1.2 software. I wish they wouldn't have changed the chasis to red plastic, because i prefer the red metal finish. This amp is perfect for the style music that i play (Metal, hard rock, punk, grunge). It has 4 channels to choose from, no effects loop, It has a headphone jack that doubles as a direct out. I wish there was an effects loop, and possible more amp models, but if i really wanted those, i would've sprung for a Vetta. I use practically every feature. The amp has plenty of power, amazing for a 50 watt amp. This is an awesome amp!

Sound Quality : 10
I use an Ibanez GRX40 with stock humbuckers, sounds awesome with this amp. You could theoretically plug in a pile of shit into this amp and it would sound awesome. Line 6 did a good job with the variety of amp models on this amp, 3 clean (Clean, Blues, Twang), and 3 distortion (Crunch, Recto, Insane). There is no distortion of the clean channels at high volumes. The distortion on this baby will kick your ass and rub tabasco sauce in your eyes. Despite all the people bitching about the speakers in this amp, i think that they are just fine, excellent perhaps. But any guitarist knows that Celestion Vintage 30s will sound better than Line 6 Tubetones.

Reliability : 10
I could trust my life with this amp. I would definitely gig without a back up with no worries. This amp has never broken down.

Customer Support : 10
I bought this amp new from a seller on Ebay. The only problem was that the Line 6 Logo was missing off the front of the amp. It was lost during shipping. This did not seriously bother me, but i would've been much happier with the security of that logo being there. So i emailed Line 6 and informed them of my dilemma, and they sent me the logo and 5 other stickers by mail, free of charge. Great service.

I've been playing for 3 years, but believe me, i know my guitars and guitar related items. I used to play a little Crate amp, but this kicks ass compared to the Crate. I also own a Zoom 505II effects pedal, and the Line 6 Floorboard. If this amp were stolen, i would cry like a little girl for about a week and a half, then i would find who stole it and beat the crap out of them. If i was unable to get it back, i would save for a vetta head, and vetta cab. I love the sounds you can squeeze out of this beast. I wish there were more amp models, and maybe a midi input. I was looking to buy a digital modeling amp, and this was the best fit according to the budget i am on (Parents money).

This is the second time I tried this my first did not appear. This is a modeling amp. with bells and whistles. I play pop and blues plus a little jazz.I wish it had an effects loop, and a number settings setup to go back to instantly.never use retro and insane. this amp has no power but lots of noise ie, lacking power supply presence.

Sound Quality : 6
I use teles, les pauls, hollow-body . all guitars sound the same with this amp.my wife said I bought this amp for the pretty lights I think she was right.I feel the amp is good for the younger generation who like shredding. The speakers let the amp down and a friend said that compression was lacking and was restrained.

seems to be constructed well.

never needed support as I sent this amp back after 2 weeks . It was'nt for me.

Ive played on and off for 30 years. I choose this amp for the variety of sounds but was unhappy with constant dial hunting and poor sound quality, and lack of power. To me sound should ooze out and overpower the area around you this amp did'nt have that.over priced amp as I paid $750.00 cdn plus tax sould be 500.00 cdn for what you get.

lots of features, suited to the younger generation. I would never use Reto and insane. I used this amp at home for practice.this amp has no power even in a small room, by this I mean it has loudness but not power that a large power supply would have.
my wife said I bought this amp for the pretty lighs, she was right.

Sound Quality : 5
I trid different guitars with this amp an they all sounded the same, not only that but each guitar needed separate settings to sound decent.again I number of settings like retro and insane are not my style. sounded good in the store, but after a weeks use I tired of it.I don't distort ot scream so I'm not a good judge here.

Reliability : No Opinion
Good construction, returned it as it was'nt for me . I like pop and blues so I never abused it for the short time I had it. This amp lacks power for gigs, its a kids toy or at best a practice amp.

one year warranty not good as some are five

I have played on and off for 30 years,I don't consider myself a good player, but I know good sound and this amp is a kids toy with cheap speakers. I did'nt dislike this amp but at 750.00 cdn way over priced.
