Bought it new in 99' for a practice amp. It's strength is it's versatility. I play all styles from Classic Rock to Fu*k your Mama in the A** Metal and this amp suits most of that to a degree. It's a good do it all tool but is not great at any one of them. Great for a beginner/intermediate with limited funds/space. Which is exactly what it is intended for. It's not for the Bar gigging wanna-be pro or Pro guitarist but then again they would already be using stacks and full peadal boards and racks. But good enough a session musician could be fairly content with it to a point. So it does exactly what you would expect from a amp modeling cheap SS Amp. I used it quite a bit back in the day but outgrew it after a couple years now it sits most of the time in the corner collecting dust. For a claimed 50 watts it sounds more like 15-20 very weak. I used it only at home. I did take it to two jam sessions to see how it would do and it got a B for sound but a D- for volume. So again it does pretty good.

Sound Quality : 7
It can make a pretty good variety within it's boundaries. A nice clean channel and pretty decent distortion in the Recto and Insane but nuthing to write home about. The Crunch setting blows Dick big time, It was the only setting I really hate. Chorus and reverb were pretty decent at low to mid setting but got to pronounced any higher than that. The volume problems that have been stated before would be a HUGE problem if one truely wanted to gig small clubs with it but again I say not many are going to try that who are trying to establish a reputation. It is a noisy thing at high Dist. settings.

I have several guitars a 78 Les Paul all the way to a Cort Strat look alike (my 2nd guitar back in the early 80's) San Dimas Jackson, ESP MII , USA BC Rich with EMG's (85 & 81) a couple Charvel's with a few different aftermarket Pup's ( KMD's, Duncans, Lawrence's, lace, and a couple custom wound) to custom Strats. And this amp sounded pretty much the same with most of them. Very minor tonal changes could be heard between like pick up types. So again this would be good for the beginner with a cheap guitar until you got the "Ear" for tone and quality instruments. It will make you think your the next SRV or Dimebag for a little while.

Reliability : 7
Never had a problem with it so can't fault it here can only give it Kudos but never pushed it that hard for any extended periods either so i'll give it a 7

Never Dealt with them

been playing off and on for 25 years. I have played a good selection of gear thru that time (owned and borrowed) So I consider myself damn lucky. I own several Line 6 items, A Pod, Guitar Port and love both of them. But my main gear is a GT-6, MT-2, Morley Wah, Death Metal pedal, MXP Super Comp, Boss GE-7 EQ, and an custom Switcher thru an older Randall RG100SC that kicks ABSOLUTE ASS !!! The only thing I miss is my old ADA MP-1 and ADA Preamp Rack {Cries} Man how I loved the 80's !!

look on the net.

Sound Quality : 7
I think the amp is nice for the price tag($300). It had alot of good sounds for being solid state. I must proclaim that the insane channel to me is useless. I did like the other distortion channels. It has very good clarity and distortion at least for me. I wasn't looking for a non-tube amp holy grail or comparing this to a tube amp. I needed a solid state in addition to my tube amp. I only played with the effects a tad so I'm not rating those per say. I thought the reverb was cheesy. I would want more control over the effects had I would make use of em(chorus, trem, etc). See my overall rating for why I didn't purchase this amp.

Let's see. I chose this section to describe what I don't like about this amp. I was totally annoyed when changing to other amp models. I go from a decent volume level to so freaking loud! Like I want to always have to worry about some huge volume spike when selecting certain amp models. Cosmetically the amp looks good. I didn't bother checking the build quality in the back, but it looks well built.

i have had this amp for a while now. this is a pretty good buy. this beast is loud. i only turn it up to like 5 or 6 and it will blow you away. i programed the four channels with progressive amounts of distortion. A is clean. B is a bluesy sound. C is a progressive rock sound. and D is all out balls to the wall distortion for heavy metal. the distortion this amp offers is kinda cheesey its hard to find and tweek to get a good blues feel like an SRV or Eric Clapton sound. the effects arent to bad (although i find using them when playing doesnt come up all to often.

Sound Quality : 7
I have a squier strat with two semore duncan hot rails on the neck and bridge. i also have a very rare DOD Super American Metal pedal and an orignal cry-baby wah. the amp is pretty good at cutting out the famous strat hum when you are using the bridge pickup and neck pickup. this amp can make alot of cool sounds. i play mostly blues and i am having trouble getting an overall warm and middle range distortion. the clean channel is pretty solid all the way thru from 1 to 10.

Reliability : 8
As long as i have had this amp it seems to be pretty reliable and i havent had any problems with it so i dont know about all these people who are talkin about it bein broke in a few years maybe they should learn how to treat an amp.

i havent dealt with the company so far but im sure its as good as the amp that they make

i have been playing for about 4 years now and i started out on a little Fender frontman 15g. this was a big upgrade for me im sure this is not the last amp i will own i really want to get a fender hot rod series or something for some serious blues chops.

I had this amp two years before I traded it in for a used Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. The effects all sounded phoney except for the clean channel which is ultimately what I used the most. The other effects were mostly overkill for me. It seemed loud in my practice room, but within the context of my band it seemed to have difficulty cutting through the mix. Even the clean channel sounded cold and sterile. Not much warmth

Sound Quality : 4
I played either a Rickenbacker 360 or a Les Paul Standard with this amp, and other than the clean channel it just didn't give me a warm sound. The distortion channels really didn't sound genuine to me. They are somewhat noisy. The clean channel is okay and as I mentioned that is the one channel I used the most. When playing live using the Rickenbacker I experienced a loud squealing noise whenever my hands left the fretboard which might bave been due to the power generator not being properly grounded during an outdoor performance. Not so noticeable when I switched to my Les Paul (good thing I brought it along!!)

Reliability : 3
I had this amp cut out on me several times during gigs right in the middle of a song, leaving my band hanging until I could turn it off and back on again. Not the feature you want with an amp. Once that happend I lost confidence in it. I typically run a Zoom effects processor through it for effects as they sounded better than the amp effects. The volume seemed to go up and down occasionally also, and this wasn't a wonderful thing either.

Customer Support : 3
Never dealt with them. I must say that when I purchased this amp from Sam Ash, they gave me a floor model until a new one in the box could be provided. I had volume issues with the floor model also but thought that once I got the new in the box version that problem might be eliminated.....wrong!!!! Other than that I cannot comment on the customer support aspects of the company.

Overall Rating : 3
I've been playing guitar 35 years or so, and semi seriously for the past 10 years. As it was traded in for a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, I cannot say I'd replace it with another Line 6 if it was stolen. Like another reviewer I liked the on board effects at first before I invested in a Zoom effects processor, which sounded so much better than the Line 6 on board effects. Now that I know what a tube amp sounds like, I cannot say I'd enjoy a digital amp. I really love the warmth of the tube amp as opposed to the phoney sound of this amp

6 channels.. only 4 are useful. crunch and blues do not have any brightness, any drive, they are worthless. clean and insane are the only decent channels, as twang and recto are just poor imitations of them, but they are more preference.

this is, of course, a digital amp, so you are not going to get authentic sounds out of it. the sounds are decent for a combo.

the other effects are nice, there are just enough to get the job done. chorus, flange, tremolo on one knob, delay on the other, then reverb.

tone control is decent, though seems like the EQ settings could shape the sound better. it pretty much amounts to treb all the way up, mid almost all the way down, bass in the middle, presence (on/off) on. no actual shaping the sound.

NO SWITCHER BOX!!! this would have gotten an 8 except for the fact that no channel switch box = useless. you have to pay for one!

Sound Quality : 7
gibson SG supreme, p-90s.

i am only splitting the tones up into the 2 useful channels, clean and insane.

-clean-
good: this is a pretty transparent channel, it does not drastically alter the sound of the guitar, only cleans it up. your guitars true sound will come straight through.

bad: youll have to use a pedal if you want a really warm clean sound. a boss OD pedal with low gain will work. another downside of this amp, VERY BAD, there seems to be a very bad issue with this clean channel. when you are playing clean on very low volumes there is a very dirty sound coming through that can only be fixed by strumming a loud note then playing. i do not know if it is some sort of bad perma-gate effect or what, or compression, the clean is messed up somehow. even with all effects (including gate) off, it still does it.

-insane-
good: this has a very sustained tone, you really only need the gain up about 3 oclock. the distortion does not get sustain by insane amounts of clipping, it really does bring out true sustain on low amounts of distortion (listen to breaking benjamin to get what im saying). the sound is pretty solid too.

bad: you HAVE HAVE HAVE to turn up this amp, or run it through headphones, to truely get the tone. this is a loud amp and does great in an outdoor setting. the tone is very limited in use as it is more metal sounding than anything.

Reliability : 6
do not depend on this amp. it is digital.

short term, i do not see this amp breaking down in the middle of a gig or such, that is if i was to use it on a gig for some reason (????). good for jam sessions!

long term, do not count on it. i have had this only a few years and now oneo f the knobs is lose, one of the channels is completely out. i ruined a pair of sennheiser headphones because i plugged them into the headphone jack, and the right side promply burnt out. since the amp is digital, there is little hope of getting it repaired.

basically, if something goes wrong and its not under warrenty, count on getting another amp.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent dealt with them, i really dont care (see overall for details).

Overall Rating : 6
its broke after a few years. i am looking to replace it when i can get the money. i will NOT be buying line 6 amplifiers again, i am even doubtful on PODs.

the tone is okay. i would much rather have a crate combo amp though.

just get a diff amp, or if you go line 6, look heavily into the more expensive amps. their lower line amps are not worth the price.

Perhaps my only critism for this combo is all those flashing lights, this annoys me especially when you turn it on. Would prefer to have see Line 6 put this labour into some other component. For the money you pay for this combo there is a resonable amount of features that may suit your budget or playing style. The amp is very easy to use and has a good set of balls when you hit the gas. Sounds good too using a decent set of head phones.

Sound Quality : 7
I use a strat and have also played this thing with a gibson. Both guitars sound good as they should using clean to within a ringing ear , using delay and phaser on this setting is also quite good. The twang, blues, crunch, metal settings depending on what you sound you are trying to achieve are also quite resonable - digital but not to fake. The insane setting is probably for the kids but hey I don't mind playing around with it for a while.

Reliability : 8
Only owned this amp for a short time. I can see that this amp is pretty well built and if I look after it and don't pop those speakers too many times and keep the dust out of the cabinet and keep it well ventilated when in use all should be sweet. I have owned many hi end stereo amps and have found this to be crucial. Of cause things break down like those hopefully not those flashing lights. I play for personal satisfaction so I can not comment on gig reliabilty. I can comment however that it handels my work out each day for an hour or two and loves it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No dealings. Just remember to buy of a reputable dealer etc.

I have been playing for almost 3 years so this amp holds its own for me. I had my heart set on buying a Marshall from the MG series and changed my mind on the spot when I looked closer into this combo. Don't get me wrong Marshalls kick butt but at this price range the 210 sounded better. If it were stolen I would probably consider buying the Vetta combo.

Ok, I use a Jackson DKMG with stock EMG-HZ pickups (yeah not the the best pickups I know). For some reason, I thought this amp sounded good in the store. After getting home an dplaying it for an hour, I realized it SUCKS. BALLS.

My main style is metal. I switched to the metal channel, and no matter what EQ settings I put it on, it always had that stupid "scooped mids Metallica sound". Hell, just for the hell of it I turned the mids all the way up, and the bass all the way down and guess what? IT STILL FRIGGIN SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS IN A DUMBASS V EQ SHAPE!

As for the other chnanels... the clean is decent at best, and twang, blues, and crunch all sound exactly the same. Seriously, you can't distinguish between them. Oh, and the insane channel sounds like a friggin bass amp or something, it = shit.

Only played it for an hour before packing it up and returning it.

This thing sucks ass. If you're a little kiddy who wants to sound like Metallica, go for it, but if you have the slightest idea of what good tone is, DON'T. Seriously, I get a waaaaay better tone out of my crate 15 watt with metal zone pedal... yeah, seriously I do.

There are tons of features... tremelo, chorus, etc. Are they good.. not really...

2x10 speakers.... you probably all know the rest.

Sound Quality : 5
I use a Epi Les Paul Classic Plus and a Strat copy. It sounds.. not too great... the distortion isnt that great, the other channels are pretty much useless. The clean is about the only o.k. channel. The effects are horrible. They just plain suck. The delays are pretty good... nothing great though.

Reliability : 2
Now this is where this amp really sucks,

Think about playing a gig, clicking your distortion channel, and getting clean w/chorus. This happened many times in practice and even at shows. It randomly resets itself.

Customer Support : 7
They were ok when I called with questions, but the minute I said I bought it used, they practically hung up on me.

Overall Rating : 6
Ive been playing 2 years. I play in garage bands etc. I play mostly alternative mainstream stuff. This amp is great if you have never used effects pedals and want to try that stuff out... in about a year, youll want to sell it, cause you will realize that it has no tone. If it was stolen Id go buy a marshall.... I loved the lights at startup, and I hated the tone.

I sold it and bought a valvestate 265r and am now using all effects pedals, thats best choice I made in my life....

From features perspective, this amp is a great intro, and it's perfect for anyone who wants to bang on a bunch of different tones without spending a lot of $$$.

Sound Quality : 5
Tone on this guy leaves a lot to be desired. The clean isn't too bad, but hardly tube quality. seems like Line6 is trying too hard with some of these settings (e.g. "InSaNE!")

Reliability : 4
Two days ago I was jamming with my band and it completely erased my settings and brought me back to the stock arrangement - pretty crappy. There was also a review that mentioned having to adjust the pre-set channels with every venue and that the volumes would be inconsistent from time-to-time...nothing could be closer to the truth. this amp is very flakey in a live setting, particularly when switching channels mid-song (there's a small gap that leaves a moment of dead space when dialing in different channels through the mediocre FB4 floorboard).

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never talked with them

Overall Rating : 5
I'm looking for a replacement to this modeling amp that still requires me to use all my old effects pedals. Looking for a 2x12 tube amp but not sure where to look. price is an issue (keep it close to $500 if possible - i just graduated from college and need to save some $$). any suggestions or favorites? shoot 'em my way.

the cleans are awesome, I will admit that, but the distortion sounds sound like shit! They sound SO FAKE!!! Line6 stuff is great for direct recording, but suck for live use. I only got this amp because i wanted a combo to gig with, and the guitar center in my neighborhood was out of my first choice: Tech 21 trademark 60(awesome, AWESOME combo)

Reliability : No Opinion
I didn't keep it long enough to find out if it was reliable or not? I imagine it is, but who cares, if it sounds like shit? I returned it 2 days later and ordered a trademark 60 from musicians friend.

It sounds good through headphones, but if i want that, I'll plug into my POD(awesome for direct recording and a great headphone amp, but also smells live). I hear a lot of people who love line 6 stuff, and I hear a lot who hate it. I belong to the second camp. If u need a great affordable S.S combo to gig with, go for a tech 21 trademark combo.

Y'all know the features. Built in FX, headphone out, noise gate, etc. It would be nice if it had an effects loop & a direct out. Really nice, in fact, but it's fine without.

Sound Quality : 7
I'm a professional musician on all keyboards, saxes, woodwinds, and have spent a little while learning how to play guitar. While my guitar playing doesn't measure up to my playing on other instruments, I know what sounds good. This amp, sonically, has been a really great learning experience for me. Almost like a $400 "history of amp sounds" class or something. All in all, I'm pretty happy with how each amp model sounds - My favorites are the Marshall Crunch and the tube-based twang. There's this one insane setting, not the one with the distortion, but the one with the octave dropped phaser thing, that is pretty laugh inducing. It sounds like your amp is going to come to life and try to kill you, and you can't ever make out anything but the bass note. But I figure that they just threw that one in there for laughs, so whatever.
Anwyay, I'm saying 7 for sound, since I've learned a ton about what I eventually want to get happening with my setup. Also, I combined a Digitech GNX3 with it to sweeten up the clean settings, and I'm getting a pretty great sound. The speakers can't handle TOO much distortion, but if you spend some time tweaking between your overdrive pedal and your gain & EQ on the amp, you can get a pretty punchy distortion. So the sounds are pretty good.

Reliability : 9
I have had this guy for a few months now, and it seems reliable. No breaks yet.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never dealt with them - seems like they're relatively on top of shit for a guitar company (I mean, compared to, say, Boss, Digitech, Epiphone, Gibson).

Overall Rating : 8
I use an Epi LP Elite with a Digitech GNX3 and Boss NS-2 (to cancel that crappy hiss that the GNX3 makes). If this were stolen, I would use the info gleaned from it to get a marshall more like the sound I really want to get, or maybe upgrade to a duoverb with a line out and an FX loop.
But this amp is pretty cool and great for me as a beginner looking for a sound.

Brand new, better described by other reviewers. Far too many gimmicky features. think "cooks and spoiled broth".

Sound Quality : 2
OK at low levels. Crap at volume. Everything is a bit not right, the presets are not really anything you'd use and when I had a go at contouring the sound and fx I couldn't get a sound I was happy with. Clean tone is absolutely pants. Tried it with a Fender Strat fitted with Duncan single coils, a Gibson SG Standard and a Gibson Flying V, so I'm not going to blame the guitars. Fx sound digital, maybe years of using analogue pedals has spoiled me in the modern marketplace. Rated it a "2" because it makes a sound. #250 is a lot of money for a doorstop.

Reliability : 10
Kept working for the 6 hours I owned it and experimented with it (at good levels of volume too, not in my bedroom) Didn't gig it, and wouldn't even try because of the poor sound.

This is a follow up review. I have owned this amp 10 months now so am in a better position to evaluate more objectively. Features? Well, I won't go into all that, because I am sure you are familiar with it's features; you can get a lot of variety of sounds from this amp.....but......none of them are really very good. This amp is not powerful enough for gigging, and lacks an external speaker jack, another drawback for gig situations. Furthermore, the amp is pretty much useless in a gig without the Floorboard pedal, unless u want to spend several minutes between each tune changing channels, setting effects etc. And the Floorboard leaves a lot to be desired. It does not have a dedicated effects on/off switch.

Sound Quality : 4
I play an American Strat and a Thinline Tele through this amp, and I play a variety of styles, such as blues, classic rock, jazz, and country. That is why I bought this amp is because I wanted a variety of sounds available at the touch of a button. But the problem is, NONE of these sounds are very good. Mediocre at best. I loved the sound of this amp when I originally bought it, but the fact is that was before I had spent sufficient time comparing it to other amps. I don't know about you, but I am not really able to evaluate an amp's sound unless I can immediately compare it to another amp. I live in a small town with a small music store, and they simply do not stock very many quality amps. But I have had this amp for 10 months now, and have had the opportunity to gig on several occasions with other players. And my amp has simply been blown away by marshall's, fenders, crates, and peavey amps. I can barely hear my low E and A string with this amp, and the sound is simply "muddy", on all models, regardless of how I EQ this thing. I have come to think of this amp as nothing more than a computer with speakers, as that's how it sounds. It sounds as though everything is super compressed.....no dynamics at all.

Reliability : 2
Here is another problem. I spend hours tweaking and saving the sounds I want, at the volume levels I want. But when I get to the gig, and turn up the master volume, all my volume levels on my individual channels are no longer level. So I have to go back through each channel and re-tweak the volume levels. It's as if changing the Master Volume causes my individual channel settings to be lost.I wrote the company and they told me this was "normal" and that I would have to reprogram my amp every time I changed venues! I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to spend an hour before each gig reprogramming my amp.

Customer Support : 9
Line 6 is good about answering emails, taking phone calls, etc.

Overall Rating : 3
I have been playing for 30 years and have only owned 4 amps. While I like the whole idea of modeling technology, and the ability to have several different sounds available in one amp, the QUALITY OF THE TONE is what ultimately matters. And this amp just has lousy tone...uninspiring, even annoying. But I have learned a valuable lesson. I will never ever buy another amp without doing extensive A/B listening tests. I plan to visit a bigger city soon and spend a couple days carefully comparing amps until I find one I can be happy with. I recently heard the Vox Valvetronix modeling amp and was quite impressed with it's sounds. But I want to compare it to some other amps like the Fender Hot Rod Deville. My advise?......Bypass this amp, and when choosing an amp take your time, be sure to compare it carefully to other amps, and let your ears be your guide.

LOADS AND LOADS!!! 6 amp models, effects, EQ, and 4 programmable patches. More than you could ask for in an amp...but no FX loop!!! Major drawback, but some thing you can work around, just turns out to be annoying.

Sound Quality : 9
A wide range of sounds, clean to insane and all in between. It suits 1/2 of my musical style...as with other Line 6 products it kicks ass on the distortion settings, but falls flat with the clean channels. When you turn the drive down you lose to much volume as well. The Channel volume knob does not seem to have much an affect with the recto amp.

My signal path inlcudes a Zoom GFX 707 and a Crybaby wah. I was concerned about not having an effects loop, and attempting to use the tone settings on my GFX. But...setting the Spider to the Blues Amp in combination with my GFX sounds surpisingly good. Almost great, but at times a little over compressed. At high volumes the amp goes a little thin, but it definately pumps out the DB's. Watch your high end, it can slice your eardrums...and everyone else's of course. My Crybaby alerted me to this. The effects are a novelty at first, but the GFX is so mch better so i am not dissapointed.

If you try this amp and think it stinks...look at how long you've played it. I hated it for 2 weeks before i finally dialed in a sound i could use on stage. a couple gigs later and it was rippin'! I love this amp. It looks cool too.

I will add that i detect no noise with this amp. Even when i only plug in my crybaby there is no hum, hiss, or other noise. Smooth pots.

Great piece of gear. i have a special approach to my tone and this amp covers one of my needs. I like to mix nu-metal distortion with Vox cleans. My next buy is an AC-15 because this amp SUCKS on cleans.

My biggest tip with this amp is to spend alot of time with it. Try all of your guitars, twist every knob, and write down the times of them! Unlike some Yamaha amps that i've seen, it won't turn your knobs for you. I know life sucks.

Oddly enough, my ultimate amp would be a speaker with an input jack. I got the opposite, but i am just as satisfied. The extras make it worth while.

It's solid state. It sounds it too. This doesn't sound bad, just not great. Here's a trick: on the distortion channels, set the presence at a cut at around 11 o'clock. This makes it sound LESS solid state(...??? yes, I know, but trust me) The recto and insane sound fake. The cleans are kinda nice though. Maybe I'll run a distortion pedal through one of the clean settings? Maybe I just haven't found the right sound yet? I still think tech21 stuff sounds MUCH more organic than line 6.

I bought this to gig with, because lugging around my tremoverb 1/2 stack is a pain in the ass. I wanted to get a mesa rectoverb 1x12, but I can't afford 2 mesas. If this were stolen, I'd buy a tech 21 trademark 60 to replace it.

Eh, they're okay. I pretty much just used the clean and the Insane models. The Insane has an annoying hiss that blankets the sound at high volumes. The clean is okay though.

The amp isn't nearly loud enough for a live gig or even jammming. The speakers are also pretty shitty. Maybe if you swapped them for Vintage 30s or something... oh wait, they're 10"s. Nevermind.

CRAP! The damn thing has crapped out on me plenty of times. And sometimes it "forgets" your presets.

Mine is currently busted and I don't even feel like getting it fixed due to how much it pisses me off.

The best thing about this amp is that it makes you realise how much you should really just save up and get yourself the actual amps its attempting to model.

Awesome for beginners though, I 'spose...

I think the amp was made in 01 or 02. Its great. Its very versatile for everything I do. I played a heavy distorted guitar solo and Friends In Low Places on the clean channel, with only the push of one button. I play EVERYTHING known to man and this amp does it all. It has 4 on amp channels, and 6 presets that you can switch between with the turn of a dial, but with a added pedal board ($250) it has 12 switchable channels. It has a headphone jack but doubles as a line out jack. The effects are on the amp itself, and with the pedal it adds a wah and volume, everything I need. The tuner is not as accurate as I would like, or at least its hard to keep a good reading, but does a good job for quicky tuning. The only feature I never really use is Tremelo because i never have found a use for it yet. I use this amp everywhere - bedroom, on stage wherever I'm playing, in a gymnasium full of people (what I did today), outside above a softball field behind centerfield (last week), churchs (thats been a while), friends houses, garages... It has enough power for what I have been using it for but I would like to plug it into a PA system the next time i use it.
Its all digital amp modeling, something I once hated but this thing is well worth every penny I spent on it.

I have a Epiphone G-400 that is stock and I love it. It has a great tone, even when distorted. It has a lot of bite but still retains some clean sound and lets the notes show.
It suits every music style i have ever attempted.
It is noisy on the Insane setting, but I usually don't use it. You can turn the gain down and stop nearly all the extra noise because the Insane preset has the gain full blast.
This amp makes every sound you'll need and then some. I love the ping pong delay it has. It varies from every type of music you can think of. The clean channel has slight distortion ONLY if you strum hard. The distortion can go from a whisper to (no pun intended) INSANE.

Reliability : No Opinion
I can definitely depend on it, and I don't really have a back up, just an old Bandit 65 and a processor that is junk.
It hasn't given me any problems thus far.

Customer Support : 9
I have it under warranty, which i think is lifetime (not sure).
I live about an hour from every music shop I've been to, so I always have to drive to get my gear, which i don't mind anyway. I had no problems finding dealerships that carried Line6.

I have been playing close to 6 years. I have 2 working guitar, 1 bass, one acoustic, and a bass I am getting ready to fix up.
I would get another if it were stolen cause I would just turn it in on insurance and get enough money to buy another. But even if insurance was not a factor, I would buy another, probably the 212 this time.
I love everything about it, it has more than I need, which is good becuase I'm sure I'll find a use for the stuff I don't use on a regular basis.
I compared it with other products in its price range and some over its price range and knew I'd waste money if I only bought a simple 2 channel amp with crappy overdrive.
I wish it had Noise Gate so I could do swells without using the volume pedal, but thats fun to mess with anyway.
This is a good amp, but not for everyone, like everything. Some people wouldn't be happy with it, I'm sure. Very versatile and worth the money.
I only gave 9's because there is always room for improvement.

Made in 2001. Couldn't be more versatile, my band plays everything from Johnny Rivers to 3 doors down. U know the amps, effects, ect.
What this amp is severly lacking is clean headroom, at high volumes the supposedly clean channel distorts in a unpleasing manner, always has, especially with humbuckers. Not so bad with single coils. For 50 watts, it's not loud enough. I've played through a 50 watt all tube, 1x12 combo at full volume that laid the spider to WASTE. However extreme volume is not always the route to nirvana. The best sounding amp modes are Twang, Crunch and Recto, they pretty much cover my area. The effects sound just fine and are dumb-as-a-post easy to tweak. You MUST tweak the presets to taste, AT the volume you intend to play them at. I'd recommend this amp for anyone interested in getting a wide variety of tones with a minimun of f&*king around. It has taken me awhile to get used to this amp, but I like what it does VERY much. More clean headroom, please.

Sound Quality : 8
1950's to current styles. Fits my styles very well. I hear virturally NO hiss or hum from this amp. Large variety of sounds quickly available with minimal fuss. I love the vintage tweed sound, use crunch and recto for sustaining solos. Like I said the clean (whatever the model is) pretty much bites the big one, I make up for by running the drive really low and boosing everything else.
Once again more clean power needed

Reliability : 8
No f ups yet. Just make sure you keep things tightened down, the floorboard switched came loose and I didn't realize it. Everytime I hit the effect/channel button the freaking wah pedal would activate.
I thought the floorboard was dying. I took a look at the board, found the loose nuts, tightened and voila', no more wah problem.
I've been hearing some horror stories about line 6 amps, but this one seems to be fine so far.

Been playing since 4th grade...I have to think about this. Uh, 30 years, how time flies.
If it were stolen I'd buy something else. Probably a Cyber Deluxe :)
Love the sounds, hate the clean tone model, wimpy for a 50 watt amp.
The spider seems easy to use for beginners, but has enough tones for seasoned guitarists sick of 2 channel amps, tube or hybrid and outboard pedals. This amp is very satisfying, but still have my eye on the Cyborg D :)
...and I get lots of compliments on the amp's tone, all the way from 'that sounds nice' to 'man, that's punchy!' A good thing, always. Louder and cleaner would be more of a good thing. This amp has everything except for that, however it makes up for it in other ways

The distortion on insane mode isn't really HEAVY like you would think. The insane distortion is just ALOT of gain, but there is really no bottom end. The recto distortion isn't really full at all. Its a thin sound, not very distorted, very weak. The good sound I liked however was the flange and the chorus. The amp can get very clean since its closed back. The chorus sounds great.

Well ive had mine for a year now, and i had a speaker blow out, I play KIND of loud. (no gigs though)

I took it back to the store I bought it and within 2 weeks I got a new speaker in and replaced for free. If you go on line 6's site and ask a question you get an emailed message back within days. ITS GOOD CUSTOMER SUPPORT, THE BEST.

I LIKE IT, its GREAT for people who want an amp with balls but don't want to buy the individual effects. Its great for the 1-3 year playing guitarist who needs an amp with everything in it fast. As far as experienced and gutiarists who want custom sound don't buy it. The WORST thing about this amp is the feedback you get. I am on shitty JACKSON FACTORY pickups on my kelly, and the feedback is a high pitched SHRIEK. It KILLS me everytime. If you have HIGH output pickups DO NOT buy this amp. Also since it is digital if there is not over like 30 watt it cuts out, NOT A GOOD THING FOR GIGS. The next complaint is the NO LINE OUT JACK. YOu only have HEAD PHONE jack. You can add a cabinet or anything. ONLY USE THIS AMP IF DON'T WANT TO HOOK ANYTHING TO IT. ITS STAND ALONE MAN!

As an amatuer with limited funds, this amp offered the most bang for the buck. I debated between this amp and the Crate GLX 212. The bottom line? This amp sounds better. The effects are good quality, and I like being able to store 4 different settings. It is also very LOUD. I have no problem hearing myself with live drums, with the Master Volume set to 7. I do wish it had an external speaker jack, but since I do not play large venues, it was not a critical issue for me.

Sound Quality : 10
I am playing a Kramer Stryker through this amp, and it sounds a bit muddy...my friends Strat sounds PERFECT through this amp. I like all the tones of this amp, but Crunchy is my least favorite...doesn't have enough "bite" for me. My favorite model is Retro...wonderful bottom end, and perfect for the style of music we play (Sabbath, ACDC, etc). I generally switch to Insane for solos, cuz the sustain is forever...but I back off on the gain to about 10 o'clock position. I also really lke the Twang tone...it sparkles and cuts through the mix just right. Do these amp models REALLY sound like their namesake's? I honestly don't know...I have never played a Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Dumble, etc.....all I can say is I like the tones...I can always find the tone I want...without spending 30 minutes fiddling with knobs!

I can't really comment...I have only owned it a month.

I am not a professional. I play for fun, and enjoy jamming with friends. I have been playing off and on for 30 years, and have owned 4 amps in the past, including a Fender Bassman and a Laney 212. This is by far the best amp I have owned to date. Best in tone, and best in features. I spent about 3 months researching before I bought this amp. And this amp was by far the best value I could find. I would have to spend at least $1200 dollars to find anything I liked better.

I bought this amp brand new because I was very impressed with the features which ae listed on their website. Seemed like a perfect solution for someone who wanted a compact amp with built-in effects so it would be a little more mobile.... should have known better. The features are great but the sound sucks.

I play for a church of about 400 people every Sunday and I play in a small rock band on the side. The distortions on this amp were OK but as soon as I put it on the clean channel allowing my Digitech RP2000 to take over, I knew it time to return it. Sucky is the only word to describe what I heard. I tried every adjustment I could find and nothing seemed to help. I started out on a Gibson les Paul Special and a Fender Hot Rod DeVille410 amp. I loved that sound unfortunately, they were stolen. The bad thing about my old amp was the size and weight. It was a monster and carrying around everywhere twice a week was such a chore so I was looking for something a little smaller to take its place. I bought a Parker Fly Deluxe and this amp. The guitar sounds good on every other amp in my church except for this one. Maybe I got a defect but as far as I'm concerned, this is apiece of crap. I usually respect Line 6 products but this is just nasty.

I've been playing for about five years and I wish this amp would have been stolen instead of my old Fender. I checked out some other amps that had the same features but the price was too good to pass up on this amp so I thought I'd give it a try. Let me tell you, you get what you pay for. I learned my lesson, I'm going back to my Fender.

Pretty versatile amp. I can use it to go from blues to metal and anywhere in between. I just wished the Floorboard wasn't so damn expensive because there's not enough patches with the FB4 alone.

I use a Epiphone LP Gold top '57 reissue with EMG 81 and 85 and a GAX75. Both sound pretty good through it. I use mostly the Clean, Twang, Recto, and Insane I was having some trouble with the tone, especially the distortion, for a bit...felt to muddy and not clear. I decided to do something out of the ordinary(an article I read suggested this) and eased up on the drive dial, cut back alot with the bass and treble, and raised the mids. I finally got the tone I was looking for. The Insane didn't sound so generic and I'm kinda tired with that "Nu-Metal" sound. My girlfriend told me I got an 80's sound out of it, which I wanted. I did the same thing with the Recto setting and got the same results, getting a more 70's-ish sound/ kinda punky and I like it. Planning on adding a compression/sustainer pedal to even out/ boost the tone. I know this company has been taking a lotta flak and nothing can replace a good quailty tube sound, but work with the dials and you can get some great sounds out of this little amp. I used it at a gig once and it sounded great. I could definalty hear myself over the rest of the band.

I haven't had any problems with it yet and it's a used amp.

I've been playing on and off for 10 years now. I'm really not much of a gear person and this is my second amp. I think its features are great for what it is. Don't thing that your going to get that "tube" tone that everyone is looking for or want. But if you need a versatile amp that's good for small gigs or practice this definatly should be in consideration. Again trust your ears instead of someone elses. I enjoy the sounds that are coming out and will probably keep this amp for a while.

a very good amp. its very easy to use. it's worked for many shows i've played, and has held up. the recto is more my sound, but if you can get the insane to sound the way you want, its not to bad. i like the saving channels it has, much easier to deal with. i have the 12 channel floorboard, which is a nice accessory. with that i can take out/put on effects i want right from there. the tap is a nice idea to choose what echos you want and how far apart. i'm disappointed that there is no line out. seperate reverb knob is a plus. for shows i've played it has worked great, loud enough to do the playing, never even had to turn it up past 6. the channel volume is also plus, letting you turn up or down the channels after you have it all equalized out. i wish there was a line out though.

Sound Quality : 9
i've liked the sounds...i've used the recto the most, insane has been hard to get with out squealing out. but i like the distoritions. clean, twang, and blues are all nice. i dont use much crunch because its not my style, but it also sounds good. the effects are awesome...chorus, flange, tremelo, tap echo, ping pong, delay and reverb. saving channels is great.
