With my band I play death-metal and this amp does the job very very well. It sounds excellent and it really doesn't sound much different than a Marshall DSL or TSL. I also like to play rock music and this amp can handle that too.
I like the reverb... to me it sounds a lot better than de Peavey ValveKing reverb.

The sound that I use most is de gain 2 channel. It has a very warm feel to it and in combination with my Boss SD-1 it goed all the way to heaven. I can make it sound like almost anything I want.
The Gain 1 channel has a more open en light feel to it. But that depents on what style of music you're into. Gain 1 can sound like Metallica but is also good for a soft rock band. Both Gain-channels have an excellent sound and feel to it. The EL34 tubes make the Bulldog sound really !!!!! nice
Clean sounds very good to. You could go from jazz to rock with it. The clean-boost gives 8dB extra and makes it in my opinion sound even better.
This amp never lets me down and no matter where I play it... it always makes me feel good...
If you're looking for an amp and don't want to spend 1100,- or more this is what you need ! I had the money to buy a Marshall DSL 100, but I bought this amp because it sounds as good for half the price.

I threat all my gear very well and specially with tubes it needs a little extra care. I never had any complaints en don't expect to have complaints.
My band plays many live gigs and we are on the road a lot. This Bulldog eats the road for breakfast.

I've been playing guitars for 9 years now.
My gear is: Jackson Professional dk, Boss SD-1, London City Bulldog, Boss eq, Boss ns.
If it was stolen I would buy again asap.
I love that it sounds great (and if I think of the price paid, I love it even more).
I compared it to Marshalls (tube) and Peavey (tube), but this baby does not sound cheaper or whatever. It is a good amp and you should buy it.

I am the lead guitarist of a trash metal band, and i was looking for a new amp.Abouth a month ago, i bought this amp with a londen city cabinet. This amp has 4 channels: clean, boost, gain 1 and gain 2. There are 2 inputs, a low and a high one. It is a 100 watt tube amp, and it comes with a 700 watt (mono) cabinet. I use the amp for rehearsal and also on stage.
I paid 750E for the head and the cabinet (in Belgium, Europe)

The amp can make a lot of different sounds. It goes from rock to heavy metal. The sound isn't brutal, but really well filled. I play with a jackson RR5 and a lag AK100 with an emg 81 in the bridge. It sounds really amazing. In combination with a seymour duncan TB 4 (jackson), it sounds very filled, but still rough enough for heavy metal tunes. With the emg, the amp sounds a bit more brutal with a huge bass when you palm mute your strings.
This amp goes amazingly hard, but still sounds good on low level. It sounds the best with the master volume half open
I use a digitech rp200 plugged in the fx loop as volume pedal and effect processor, and that goes very well. I presetted also different treble, midi and bass settings on my effect case, so i can switch fast when i want to have another set-up. This is also easy when you play with guitars with different humbuckers.

I've been playing on a hughes and kettner attax combo and a marshall valve state, but those amps just can't get close to this one!!
I also tested a jcm900, a peavy triple x, a randall rg100 and a ENGL powerball, but this amp just sounded the best. The price/sound rate was also much higher than a marshall amp.
If this amp was lost, i surely would buy him again.
I love all the channels of this amp, but don't buy him if you want to have a soft rock or blues amp. This is surely a hardrock/metal amp.

Built in 2005 actually, so this thing is brand new!
I play in a guitar/indie/emo rock band (http://www.foldrocks.com, how d'ya like that?) and was looking out to replace my Marshall Valvestate 8100 full stack.
That one was ok when I was younger, rebellious, and in my metal-years (ahum) but it really wasn't crisp or sophisticated enough to handle a good bright crunch.
I had my eye on a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, but the when I saw this full tube 100 Watt head, I just couldn't resist trying...
It has 4 channels:
1. Clean
2. Clean + boost
3. Gain 1
4. Gain 2
You can switch all channels and reverb through the footswitch which will be coming out in a few weeks (about $ 30,-)
When I took it for a spin, I really already knew what kind of sound I was looking for, and did in no way find it in the Gain 1, or Gain 2 channels, because these are for the real (real!) heavy stuff.
Disappointed at first I had my go on the Clean channel, and with that came the Clean + boost option. And lemme tell ya, that one was right on the money!
The knobs on all channels are extremely sensitive and well proportioned, and yes...you can really hear the difference stepping up from level, treble, bass or middle from 1 to 2. I got the exact sounds I wanted from it.
Whatever sound I create with it, it still keeps a great "gut feeling" and warm low.
The all clean channel is very warm and has a full and thick sound, you can really enjoy that tube sound when you mute your strings and just tap the pick on your low E.
The reverb is a mild one, with the knob turned fully open it still isn't like your playing in an empty swimming bassin.
I use it for rehearsal and live and it does the job equally well at both. I do need to fiddle with the boost-level everytime I enter a new venue, in order to keep the playing volume and amount of crunch in a good proportion.
I really didn't want a modeling-digital-computerised amp, cause these things just rub me the wrong way, there's no real feeling or sensation that comes with them.
London City was until recently only available on the used-market, and for enthusiasts only. Now they made a new start and this is the first line of new amps rolling out of the factory. It used to be known as the "poor man's Marshall" but was used by many very renowned artists.
The Bulldog is amazingly affordable, and it doesn't show!

I use it with a Fender Tele Thinline '72 and that proved to be a great match. I get it to sound exactly like I want it, and it is virtually free of humming and buzzing.

Now since this a the first amp London City built after many years, there's really anything to say about it's reliability, because that has to be proven through the course of years.
I hasn't let me down at any time. So if this one becomes a reliable classic, or a one-off-one-try amp no one can really tell at this point. But either way...I'm a fan!
