This Cab was created custom in August of '06. It is made with 18mm, 13-ply Baltic Birch,CELESTION VINTAGE 30s and wired with 14 AWG copper wire for all connections.
Not to mention my kick ass red finish!

This Cab is crystal clear compared to my Marshall 1960A. After playing the two side by side, I saw no comparision between them. Whereas the Marshall sounded muddy and contained, The Mills was raw with an unleashed sound.
I use this Cab alongside my Les Paul Standard Faded with BurstBucker Pro Pickups.

Only had the Cab for about a month now, however, the build on it is rock solid. I would have no problem using this at a gig without a backup.

Never had any need for customer support regarding repairs. However, when creating the Cab, Dave walked me through everything and was always around when I had any questions/ inquiries.

I've been playing for about 7 years now. I am in a touring rock band that demands equipment that 1. needs a top of the line sound and 2. will be reliable enough to last for years.
This Cab not only sounds incredible, but is built like a tank. I have no worries taking this monster on tour, lugging it in and out of trailers every night.
I run a Les Paul Standard Faded through my Peavey XXX through my Mills.

This is by FAR the best 412 Cab I have EVER owned! Completely hand made, 13 ply birch, custom internal baffle, and I had them put 100W Celestion 12's in mine. Its just a beast of a cab! From blues (what I do)to all out sonic assault this cab covers it all with ease!

I am using a 1960 Strat through a Rivera Knucklehead K100 with this cab. I play very hard edged blues/rock.(think Band Of Gypsies meets old ZZ Top, mixed with SRV)This cab puts out a TON of low end bass response! I can rattle pictures off the back wall if I want with this thing! Its VERY punchy and distinct, and the high end isnt quite as brittle sounding as some of the other cabs I have played. It makes my Marshall 1960B Cab sounds and look like a toy....really! Im overly impressed with the way the Mills Cabs sound, after playing through them, I will never play anything else.

I use this thing day in and day out. Up and down stairs, in and out of the band van, inside or outside, rain or shine and have never had a single problem out of it. I could probably pull this thing behind the van instead of in it and it would still sound good.
Mills obviously takes pride in building his cabs as solid and durable as an army tank. Just a few pounds heavier than most 412s but its totaly worth it!

I give their customer support an 11... Custom made my cab like I wanted it and will personally fix any problem I have out of it..I guarantee you that you wont find this kind of "one-on-one personal Customer Support" out of ANY of the big cab makers. Mills was a pleasure to do business with!

Overall, the only thing that would sound better in my rig than the Mills 412B, would be 2 Mills 412B cabs! Full stack baby! I have plugged in through 2 of em and ran my head at 4ohms and OH MY GOD! Jimi woulda loved it!
I give this product a 10 all around..

I was playing my Rivera K100 through one and a 1969 Marshall Plexi through another, wide open and they sounded godly!

This cab festures 4 Celestion Vintage 30s which in my opinion are probably the most well rounded guitar speaker ever made. The cab itsels is made from 13 ply baltic birch wood. What does that mean, you can smack this thing with sledge hammer and it won't hurt a thing. Just picking the cab up you can feel how solid the construction is. I have seen and played every cab on the market and one look at this cab makes the others look like toys. The grill cloth is excellent, the weave lets sound travel through without the dampening sound that some cabs get from using a less expensive grill cloth that almost feels plastic. This stuff is real mice. There are steel reinforced corners which add protection. The casters pull out and plug in with ease so you dont have to fuss to get them out to put the cab flat on the stage. Really the sturdiest, meanest cab I have put my hands on.

I use various Schecter guitars with Seymour Duncan and EMGs, as well as a Les Paul Standard with EMGs. The Amps I use are a VHT GP3 ran into a VHT 2-90-2, a Mesa Dual Rectifier with EL34s and A Mesa Road King. The Mills Cabinet really produces every harmonic subtlety and the nuance of the different amps that I have never heard a cabinet do before. The cleans become crystal clear and LOUD. You don't have to use gain in the clean channels to get good level, the sound is very open and has a natural reverb quality to it that gives you great classic sounding cleans, but you can also dial in super fat low end cleans as well. The distortion this cab produces is unbelievable, it really translates the signal from the amp the way it is intended to be. The controls on my amps seem to actually be effective now, the smallest adjustments actually change the tone. I can dial in a much more personal signature sound. The distortion is well focused, if you want it tight, it is tight, if you want it loose it is loose. This cab is more for the player that is really trying to identify their style of playing and their own personal sound, this cab doesn't bury the subtle things that you do with your instrument. But the cabinet will not cover up mistakes either like other cabs will, you will get the best sound from this cab, but you need to know how to play tour instrument. I would have to say that I was shocked when I plugged in and for the first time heard everything coming through the way that i intended it to, rather than fighting with the cab to get the right sound to come across.

Well, like i said the cab is built like a tank. It faithfully gives you great tone wherever you take it. I tour around the country and Europe and i know that i can rely on this thing to work time and time again. If my tech dropped it out of the back of the truck, it can go right up on stage and it will be fine. I don't think i could break it if I tried.

Dealing with Dave has been a pleasure. He's a real good hearted guy that really cares about the cabinets he's building, but I think he cares just as much about getting them in the hands of good musicians and really seeing the cabs doing what they were built to do, which is make a great band sound even better. He stayed in touch with me letting me know every step of the way where the cabs were at in production and made sure that i was going to have them in time for touring this summer. Really exceptional service.

My overall opinion of the cab is that it is the best cab I have ever owned or played on. If they were stolen, I would definitely replace them, they are now a very integral part os my sound. I have played Mesa, Bogner, VHT, Diezel, and a heck of a lot of real cheap cabs too. The Mills cab just has a charm about it that kills the others. I would recommend the cab to anyone that is really looking for the best tone that they can get andthe reliability to be able to reproduce that tone every time they plug in.

Good solid construction. The cloth used for the grill is really nice! 280watts @ 8 Ohms. Has an ext. out. Reinforced metal corner covers. This thing has got the works and its a monster to boot. Heavy as all hell - which just goes with what I always say "if its heavy, you know its good."
This thing is one of the biggest 4x12 cabs I have ever seen. Yes bigger then the Mesa Oversized Recto cab. And the TONE is BIGGER then any I have ever heard.

I use PRS Customs and Gibson Les Pauls through Mesa Boogie Tremoverb heads. This cab really complements my set up well. Its got all the bite of an expensive Marshall cab and the low end response of the Mesa Recto cabs. But the greatest thing is the articulation and clarity that you can hear through this beast, especially with clean playing. Made my clean tone 10 times more crystal and the overdriven sounds packed with much more bite! Great frequency response! You would have to hear it to believe it.

I have been playing in a professional band for the past 4 years. I have used alot of cabs (Mesa Rectos, Marshall 1960As, Peavy 5150s) this is by far one of the best cabs I have ever had the pleasure of playing through. If your serious about tone, then this is the cab for you.
The only thing is that its is a BIG cab and HEAVY, but hey, the best gear is always the heaviest (i.e. Gibson Les Pauls, any good tube head).
You heard the rest, now play the best!!

My Afterburner 412B was handcrafter just months ago by MILLS acoustics, with 8 ohm, 280W mono cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30's and oversized enclosure. It's power immediately blew me away. It's clarity... I'm getting ahead of myself.

I'm running my Afterburner out of a Peavey Classic 50 combo amp. I've played it out of a few heads and each one was complimented perfectly by the clairity and power that has put Mills on the map as the leader, and "company to beat" in Cabinetry. I play Hard Rock, and you couldn't ask for more of a beast than this 110 pound road worthy monster.

I never have to think twice about taking my Afterburner out on the road. I can push it off a building roof and rest assured it'd come out in one piece. For God's sake it's 13 ply birchwood, talk about well built! If you haven't noticed I love the freakin thing!

Ok, now here's where Mills shines (well they sparkle and gleam all over the place, but Dave Mills himself shines in this department) I've never waited more than 20 minutes for a response from this guy on myspace. (www.myspace.com/millsacoustics) I've never called him once when he didn't pick up the phone and talk to me about random stupid things. He's very accessible, easy to talk to and stands behind his product, and he has no reason not to! Kudos Mills Acousics, you have set the bar high.

I've been playing 11 years. I use an Aria Cardinal Pro II guitar with EMG Zakk Wylde pickups and I'm blasting out of a Peavey Classic 50 jacked right into my new Mills Afterburner. If my Afterburner were stolen first I'd cry uncontrollably, then I'd hunt down the dude that did it. I'd find people who are as close to him as I am to my Afterburner and make them pay!! LOL It's clean, crisp everything you want from a cab. For those of you who think having the right cab doesn't help your sound, go try a Mills next to a Mesa, or a Marshall, you'll change your tune and your tone!

The Afterburner 412B added so much depth and growl to my sound. Right out of the box it was apparent that this cabinet has all the right stuff even without making any adjustments to the rest of my rig. I have played through just about every cabinet on the market and there isn't even a close comparison to Mills. Playing through a Peavey 5150, the Afterburner brought my amp to life.

It's obvious right out of the box that these cabinets are not your ordinary guitar cabinets. After 15 years of playing I have tried just about every cab on the market and Mills Acoustics has raised the bar for anyone who is serious about TONE! Incredible attention to quality, detail and craftmanship. If you're looking for a new guitar cabinet, look no further. Mills is the soon-to-be industry standard for any guitarist that knows it all starts with good tone and outstanding customer service.

8 ohm mono cabinet with 4 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. Slightly oversized. Heavy duty construction. Includes an acoustically ported brace that is attached to the back panel. Rated and 8 since its only a cabinet and only so many features can be provided in a cabinet.

This cabinet sounds fantastic. It really just amplifies the source without adding its own color. The speakers just come alive. Clean tones became more 3 dimensional with this cabinet. Dirty tones cut thru the mix and the low end is nice and tight. No flabby low strings anymore. I started with a Mesa Boogie Recto cab, it was very scooped sounding and the low end was flabby. I then upgraded to a Bogner 4x12, which I was told was the best cab out there. The Bogner was much better sounding than the Recto, it cut thru the mix much better, but still had a problem with the low end. The Mills cabinet took care of all of the problems, cutting thru the mix, tight low end and went an extra step by reproducing the full spectrum of the speakers range. I am hooked. My cabinet search has ended.

Okay, I don't know how I could give this category anything other than a 10. Prior to purchasing the cabinet I emailed Dave Mills several time asking questions about the cabinet. Dave was always prompt in returning his emails and always provided a great deal of information, not the typical short and sweet yes no answers you get from most manufactures. I purchased the cabinet directly from Mills Acoustic. Dave thought he had a 412B in stock, but it turned out that the unit was a demo unit. They worked over the weekend to get the cab ready for me and it come down to me needing it for a recording session and it would not arrive in time via standard shipping. Dave Mills delivered the cabinet personally to my studio and set it up for me so I would have it in time for the recording session. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and MILLS is in Mobile, Alabama so its over a 3 hour drive. Thats outstanding customer service. Hard to find service like that any more!

I will be keeping this cab for a long time and I go through allot of gear trying to find the perfect sound. I would recommend this cabinet to anyone without hesitation. Thanks Dave for a great cabinet.

My buddy told me about this cabinet and called it the "Hatteras" of guitar cabinets. He's right. It is solid, heavy and built like a bank vault. It has 4 Celestion Vintage 30s and is solid 3/4" birch plywood throughout, even the rear panel. There is an internal brace/ported baffle like nothing I've ever seen, and the inside cab corners are even steel reinforced! It came with black elephant hide tolex and a really nice heavy black grillcloth with white piping. Also has plug-in casters and rubber feet. I bought mine from the company website and put my 1960B up for sale as soon as it came in.

My amp is a Mesa Dual Recto head and my main axe is a '97 American Strat Custom. I play clubs for a living and mainly rock/metal. All I can say is, AMAZING!! Their idea is to take the cabinet out of the equation and allow the V30s to run as efficiently as possible. The result is an unbelievably true sound even at major volume. On their website, they tell you this is exactly what their cabinet was designed to do. I didn't realize how muddy my previous cab sounded. I am a believer now.

Again, I don't know. The cab is new. But it has a lifetime warranty and the guys at Mills are very proud of what they build and very easy to deal with. They tell you to contact them immediately if there is any problem, whatsoever. I am totally happy with this cab.

I've been playing professionally for about 8 years and it's how I make a living. I've owned probably every kind of amp and cabinet you can think of at one time or another. This cabinet is on stage with me at every gig and will remain that way. If it were stolen, my insurance would be buying another one just like it. The Mills team tells you they build the finest guitar cabinet "on planet Earth" and that sounds kind of cocky at first. But when you get it in your hands and hear it for the first time, you can't help but agree with them. My next purchase will be their 2x12 model which should be great for some of the smaller venues we play. When I get it, I'll post another review.
