This baby is just perfect for ANY type of music, but I must say it's the cab of my dreams

Sound Quality : 10
The sound quality is incredible, if you have a good sound, this will let you hear the real power and soul of your tone. It brings out the clarity and it lets you explode those lower tones without even breaking a sweat. I have always wanted to get a mesa, but since Yiyo, the lead guitar of my band (Asthma) got his MILLS??? I was impressed. The power, clarity and richness of the sound you get through the Afterburner is out of this world. We actually had the chance to do a HEAD to HEAD, in the studio, we had a MESA and his MILLS and wow.. just by standing next to the ???lil mesa??? hehe but the sound??? that???s what really shows you how big the MILLS really is. So after we recorded our 1st Album, I just had to call Dave and Susie and ask for my MILLS!

Reliability : 10
I've been using this baby for ALL my gigs and have had no problems what so ever. I can get worried about my guitar being on perfect tune, or my fx messing up or the end of the world, but never do I worry about my Afterburner :). Has it ever broken down?.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This thing is build super tough and solid, the material they use is the best and it's made speacially for you. I can alwasy use this bby without needing a backup. (Unless you like to carry stuff around and don't use it)

Customer Support : 10
Don't even get me started, MILLS has the BEST CUSTOMER SUPPORT there is, I remember writing them when I finally heard the cab!, when I started saving!, when I finally order it! when I was wating for it to get here!... When you buy a MILLS cabinet you not just a customer, but you become part of the MILLS FAMILY.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for around 10 years now, and my sound has never been this awesome. It's the core of my sound. After comparing it with a Mesa I knew I HAD to get the MILLS AFTERBURNER, no competition. The value is just incredible, you get a cab build with the best material, and specially made for you, at your own specs. (I own a RED MONSTER!) ^_^ Every time I plug in my guitar I???m amazed of the sound! I may get a new amp, new fx, another guitar, but guess what???s not changing in my setup?
My MILLS.

Beautiful construction and easy to move... solid design! Custom people! CUSTOM... features!? You call the shots. Pop out casters too! Very nice.

Sound Quality : 10
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally someone created a musical sounding cab for guitarists/bassists.

NOTHING COMPARES TO MILLS ACOUSTICS. If you're playing anything else, you're not getting the incredible tone you'd get if you bought one of these bad boys!

Esp killer if you play in lower tunings. I'm in drop C and play a 7 in drop A... no muddy bottom baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My tone is tight and defined!

Reliability : 10
Dave and Susie are reliable and have created a beautifully relaible company/product! Their cabs are built so tough, you could drop it off a five story building and they'd still sing!

Customer Support : 10
Can't say enough! Incredible experience... give 'em a call!!!

Overall Rating : 10
The rating system isn't high enough on this sight for Dave Mills, lol!

How about an ol' X-Generation "S~I~C~K~!!!"

For years, the guitar cabinet has been stereotyped as the 'simple' portion of a guitar rig. Most consider it nothing more than a wooden box with 4 speakers. The Mills cab has taken these 'simple' features and brought them all to an unprecedented level, allowing the guitarist to REALLY see that all cabs are not equal. All the little details DO make a difference.

The Afterburner is an oversized cabinet, with speakers rear-mounted to the baffle. There are two jacks in the back; one in, and the other an extension to Daisy Chain cabinets. With some rewiring, these jacks could instead be used to run the cabinet in stereo.

Taking it out of the box, one can clearly see the time and effort put into this cab. Every detail is worked out 100%. It is a HEAVY piece. The company is not skimping on cheap or thin wood.

Opening the cabinet up, the same attention to detail is apparent. The entire inside of the cabinet is steal reinforced and sealed. The company's special baffle runs down the middle, and attaches to the back wall of the cabinet.

So, all in all, the construction of this cabinet is really unmatched, and all these details are what make is so special in the sound it puts out. My one and only complaint are the casters on the cabinet. While they work, I really expected a better system for such a high end cabinet. Mesa Boogie's Trac-lock system provides MUCH easier removal, and the casters themselves are larger, making for smoother transport. This is the one and only reason the cabinet does not get a full score.

Sound Quality : 10
This category is where the Mills Afterburner is miles ahead of the competition.

Be it Mr. Mill's attention to detail, or Elven Magic, this cabinet puts out a tone better than anything else out there. His formula REALLY takes the guitar cabinet to a new level.

I should also mention that I loaded my cab with an x-pattern of Celestion Vintage 30's and G12K-100s.

First and foremost, CLARITY, CLARITY, CLARITY. I play a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Roadster, and no matter how hard I push the bass, the cab takes it no problem. There is NO mud to my tone, which always seemed to be a problem with my Mesa cabinets, even the traditional models.

Next, the oversized design of the cabinet really makes it sound HUGE. I was never able to produce such a deep and 3-D sound with my other cabinets. Other oversized cabinets shoot for a similar effect, but they do so by taking away from the clarity. The Afterburner achieves BOTH equally well, producing a tone that is just out of this world.

Finally, no matter my settings, I can't seem to make this cab sound harsh. This is QUITE a treat. With my former cabinets (even Mesa Boogies), I always had to worry about treble and presence settings. My tone would either be too dark and dull, or harsh and piercing. Now, I can get the cut and attack I want, without my tone being harsh. This was HUGE for me.

All these comments apply to both clean and high gain tones. Honestly, I have not used many crunch sounds through it, as my current band, The Endless Endeavor (www.myspace.com/theendlessendeavor), does not use such tones. But, my cleans are bigger than ever, and my high gain tones are kicking harder than I ever imagined.

This cabinet deserves a rating much higher than '10' in the sound department. Comparing it to other pieces of gear rated '10' on this site just isn't fair.

Reliability : 10
It is built like a TANK. No worries about a backup. This cabinet will survive YEARS AND YEARS of torture. To be honest, I don't expect to ever get another cab. This one will be with me to the end. I might get a second some time soon though ;)

Customer Support : 10
Dave Mills provided me with the best customer service I have EVER received with any of my products. We replied to ALL my emails and calls faster than ever, answered all my questions, no matter how repetative and miniscule, and finally provided me with the best product I've ever received. Honestly, I feel like I am part of the family now. To this day, he still checks in with my to ask how my cab is doing!

In summary, Mills customer service is THE BEST I've ever had.

Overall Rating : 10
This cabinet is THE cabinet to have for any player that is serious about their tone. Other companies make a good product, but Mills Acoustics has set a new standard to Guitar Cabinet production. I played Mesa Boogie before, and I sold BOTH of my Boogie cabs after getting the Mills. I have since again tried VHT, Bogner, and others, and the Mills leaves NOTHING to be wanted. I play a Mesa Boogie Roadster, with PRS guitars pushing the front end.

I have found THE cabinet for my guitar rig. While other things may change, the Mills cab will ALWAYS be part of my rig. I am convinced that in this portion, my tone is the best that it will be.

If anyone has any questions on the cab, feel free to contact me (Eric) on the band page:

Pros:
-Exceptionally solid construction, built like a tank
-heavy gauge wire for speakers
-metal handles and jacks
-stock tolex is so heavy, it looks like it would stop a bullet.

Cons:
-2" casters, though standard fare on most cabs, are a bit puny. I would have liked a 3" caster similar to those found on Mesa cabs.
-weighs just under a metric ton....

Sound Quality : 10
I run in standard tunings mostly, using PRS or Gibson guitars through either Diezel or Mesa heads. This might be the tightest and clearest sounding cab I've ever heard. Bar none. (Yes, I've played through an Uberkab, yes it was great. No, I haven't played a new Diezel cab).
It fills up a room at any volume. It's the least directional sounding cab I've ever played through. Stays tight even at stage volumes. My Diezel Herbert on channel 2+, bass and deep maxed, master volume cranked about halfway up, couldn't make the cab falter in the least.

It's not a mile better in any area over another cab. It's just a little better here, a little better there, a little bit tighter, a little bit clearer, a little bit more low end. It all adds up in the end, but it's didn't wow me in any one way right out of the gate. You kind of have to step back and think about it before you realize how good it is. That being said, it is that good. And the more I play through it, the more it ruins other cabs for me.

If I had to have just 1 cab, this would be it. If you were buying new, paying $949 for a Recto cab or $800 for a Marhsall 1960a (plus tax or shipping) is idiotic IMO, the Mills should be a no brainer every time.

Reliability : 10
I can't see how it couldn't be reliable. Super solid construction, solid birch all around, metal handles and corners. Built like a tank.

Customer Support : 10
Dave Mills has been amazing to deal with, both before and after the sale.

Overall Rating : 10
Given the cost of new cabs, I don't think there is a better cab on the market. It outperforms ever cab I've played and costs less new than and of the big players (Mesa, Bogner, Diezel, Orange, etc).

This amp is custom built-to-order in Dave Mills' own shop. Absolutely top notch quality control. Steel/Epoxy Reinforced interior, elephant skin tolex, thick basket weave grille cloth, durable thick wood..there is nothing left to be desired.

Sound Quality : 10
This is where the cab really shines. The cab I got came with the stock V30s, since the Fireball I run through it is voiced for the V30s. When I first got it, I was surprised at how relatively NOT harsh the speakers sounded at first. It really did help me realize that cab construction can really change the way you perceive some of the sound that people brush off as inherent to the speaker, and not the cab. After about 2 weeks of gig-level playing 1-2 hours a day, the speakers are starting to actually break in and it sounds EVEN smoother. Unreal. Now, the low end. This is where it's at. All the designing and prototyping really shows here. I can literally crank by Bass to 10, hit depth, and the sound will STILL be tight, clear, and not over-bassy. The afterburner baffle really does put this cab leagues beyond anything else out there. No mud, no lack of clarity. The low end tightness and clarity is there in spades. The midrange also on the V30s in the Mills sounds great. The cab really helps bring out the grind and crunch of the mids in the V30. Lastly, the projection is ENORMOUS. This cab just sounds ****ing HUGE. 3D is really the best way to describe it. It's like a big wall of sound is just absolutely crushing your chest with gut-wrenching brutality. With the ENGL Fireball distortion (you cant get more metal than this), the distortion and heaviness of this cab is just absolutely out of this world. Also, it's ACTUALLY oversized, not just a bigger box wiht the same internal design, much like many other "oversized" makers.

Reliability : 10
Sturdy as a tank. Built EXTREMELY sturdy. Dave cut absolutely no corners in the construction of this cabinet. You really have to try to even put a scratch on it. I'm definitely not kept up at night worrying about whether this cab can handle what I dish at it. (I'm a basement studio musician, but if I were to gig regularly, absolutely no doubt in my mind this cab can take anything.

Customer Support : 10
Another way Dave sets himself apart from the rest of the business is his personable nature. Customer Service like this is dead these days. I called him 3 times, and each time we talked for about an hour from everything to food, to guitar players these days, to tone, you name it, man. The guy is also no-********. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear. If you propose an idea to him, he will give you his honest opinion on it based on your needs and desires. Him and his wife answer their phone almost all the time (and if they are unable to, they get back to you ASAP), and they responded to all of my emails in less than a day. He even went through the trouble to have my cab delivered to my house because the service center near me was too far away. Well done, Dave.

Overall Rating : 10
Best cab on the market, hands down. I was using a Marshall 1960 before I got this, and now I realize there was simply no comparison. That thing was a child's toy compared to this monster. The best prat is, it's not like you have to sacrifice more money to get to better tone compared to Diezels and Bogners, because it actually costs LESS. These babies run $960 USD + ~$100 shipping. Better tone for LESS money. Unbelievable. The baffle in this thing really is truly amazing. I'm glad someone in the industry of cab-making stepped their game up and realized that there was more to be had in a cab. This IS the apex of cab-making, no question. All my future cabs will be Mills without a doubt. It's hard to play anything else after you've played a Mills.

Features : 10
Built solid as a bank vault with excellent hardware. The grillcloth is very high quality. This cab (my second one) is 8 ohm mono with Celestion Vintage 30's. Finally, a larger-than-usual cab that sounds like a big cab should.

Sound Quality : 10
This is my second Afterburner 412B cab that I bought directly from Mills. In another month or so I'm ordering their Afterburner 412 Classic as well. I play mostly hard rock and some metal. How does it sound? If there is any cab that has mastered the capabilities of a quality guitar speaker, it is this one. It does not matter how hard you run it or at what volume, it stays tight and projects like no other. You will not have the woofs and farts. The Afterburner just nails your amps tone in ways I'd never heard through my previous Bogner and Matchless cabs. And Marshalls? Forget about it..not even close. My main fav axe is a LP custom shop 58RI with overwound custom pups. Nice and nasty! I have quite a few amps but mostly run my modded Soldano SLO 100. Cranking the LP's volume controls to 10 just delivers that gnarly overdriven tone that can melt steel. The cab delivers all the complexities and harmonics even at the loudest stage volumes. You can hear your pick attack. You can also hear your f-ups, but it's a tradeoff I'll gladly live with. And when you want to crank your bass controls to 10 and bomb the audience with drop-tuned low end thump, the Afterburner is set to deliver. Massive thump, massive punch, massive clarity. This cabinet is truly the standard in what a cab should be.

Reliability : 10
I've been running Mills Acoustics cabs exclusively for over 2 and a half years. They've been dropped, knocked around and left in the equipment trailer in 150 degree heat for days on end. I don't think you could kill one if you tried. You can tell from the very first glance this is no ordinary piece of gear. The thing screams quality and is built to out last your grand kids.

Customer Support : 10
A couple of other reviewers have said they'd rate Dave's service at a "20". I'd totally agree. It seems like every time I call, he's in the middle of something but always takes the time to chat tone with me. He is a straight-shooter that will tell you what he thinks, not necessarily what he thinks you want to hear. Damn that is so refreshing in this day and age. He is a good guy and stands 100% behind his product. He says his cabs are the best because they are. Simple truth with no BS.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing in various bands over the last 20+ years and even was signed by a fairly large Indie Label for several years during the mid 90s. I wish the Mills Afterburner had been available. I absolutely understand now what my tone had been missing. Oh yeah, I was loud as Hell but loud is easy. Keeping your notes articulate, punchy and focused at volume is the trick. I've never played any cab that improved ANY amp plugged into it like these monsters. They are the real deal. A great Company with great products.

Every component on this cab is chosen and installed to deliver ultimate quality. Thumping it with your fist is like hitting the hull of the USS Nimitz. It simply takes cab construction and design to a whole new level.

Sound Quality : 10
I've been running the V30 Afterburner 412B for over a year. My 2 main amps are a modded JCM 800 and a Bogner Ecstacy. My previous cab was the matching Bogner 412. I thought it sounded great compared to all the other cabs I have owned over the years. Then one weekend a buddy called to tell me that Wes Jeans was playing at a local club. During Wes' opening song I noticed 3 things...unfriggin' believable playing, loud as hell but the BEST guitar tone I had ever heard anywhere. At his first break I joined a few other players who were talking to Wes. That was when I discovered the Mills Afterburner 412B. Wes told us all that he will use no other cab and I know why. The earlier review from "J" (no details whatsoever) below tells me that you're either smoking crack, completely deaf or your little Emo band got rejected by the Company for sponsorship. To describe this cab as "honky" is ludicrous. It is by far the most massive and articulate guitar tone generator that has ever been created. It is obvious that your feelings have been hurt and you have a personal ax to grind. Get over it.

Reliability : 10
If a tornado heads my way, I'm climbing inside this cab.

Customer Support : 10
I'd give this a "20". Dave Mills is a passionate, driven Professional who has set out to build something out of the ordinary and he damn sure has. Sure, he will tell you his cabs are the best in the World. Lots of other gear makers say the same thing. He is one of the very very few who can back it up. You can ask him any question and he will take the time to give you a straight, honest answer. His replies are quick and the man is just a pleasure to deal with. Every company out there should take lessons from them in the areas of quality control and customer service.

Overall Rating : 10
It is a shame that the internet allows the small-minded, frustrated individual such as "J" to run their mouth. Regardless of your biased opinion, the other 30 or so reviews on this cab tell the true story. It is doubtful that major label artists such as 3 Doors Down and Mastodon will spend hundreds of thousands on tracking and production only to do so through less than the best cab available. That cab is a Mills. I've been playing for over 16 years and learned very early on the quality gear is worth the cost. I have never been more satisfied with any dollar spent than I have been with the Afterburner. I have already placed my order for the matching 412A slant to go with my straight cab. I agree totally with all the other "real" reviews here that describe the delivery and projection of this cab. The harder you try to abuse it the more it shines. And if you like the way your amp sounds, you will LOVE it when put through an Afterburner 412. If this cab were stolen, I'd have my Attorney and a bail bondsman on standby because some poor thief is about to get the beating of a lifetime.

Oversized 4x12" cabinet. Vintage 30 speakers.

Sound Quality : 6
I play several different styles from blues to metal to funk. I tried this cab with my Diezel VH4 head and a PRS custom 22. Overall the sound quality was usable for all styles but not fit particularly well for any. It sounds kind of "honky" and does not really crunch well.

Reliability : 10
There a very solid built cabinet and i don't for see any problems with reliability issues.

Customer Support : 4
I have spoke with this company before on a couple of occasions, simply put there the KINGS OF SELF PROMOTION. Granted they do make a quality product but saying its the best cab on the planet is far from the truth. Something such as the best cab ever is subjective and no one product is just simply the best out. Many factors will affect the ideal cab, for example playing style and there response to me was it doesn't matter style this cab will be the best for every style regradless.

Overall Rating : 6
Overall the Mills cabinets are decent but they don't live up to the hype, I tried several cabs with my Diezel VH4 and the Mills did not stand out in my opinion. They sounded good but there was others that sounded way better. Personal I would recommend everyone tries one before purchasing because the hype from this company, I almost ordered one myself before even trying it because of other reviews but I'm very happy I took the time to go try one first.

This cabinet is of the HIGHEST caliber. Very easy to use and loaded with Celestion V30s. Its built like a tank and its appearance is purely elegant. There is no other cab that compares to this period point blank!!!!

Sound Quality : 10
UN****ING REAL!!!!!! I play mostly extreme metal and the sound erupting from this beast nearly made me **** for real. I have a setting that is seriously mid-scooped that i couldn't even use live, and this cab ate my tone for lunch and was begging for more!!!! None of the notes were jumbled or muddy, every note was clean and articulate, and no other cab this amp has been put thru:uberkab, marshall 1960, mesa recto-standard, rivera cab or a vht cab can even pray to hold a candle to this demon!! When I shifted gears and ran it clean every note sounded angelic. This is a cab for any style of playing, and i mean any!!!! This is the sound of evolution!!!

Reliability : No Opinion
The construction on these cabs phenemonal!!! From the solid corners, to the material on the grill, no attention to detail and ruggedness has has been left out. You could throw it off of a building and it would laugh at you, sound kller and still look sharp. Dave Mills has left no stone unturned.

Customer Support : 10
There is no better support than Dave Mills hands down. I was on vacation in his hometown, I called him up and he invited me to his workshop to personally try one out. He is very knowledgable of his product and he and his wife Susie are some of the best people you could ever hope to meet. He gets down to business and treats customers like family and not "customers". He handles business in a professional and quick manner, any problems you have, he handles personally. Try that level of service with major brand names, you're not gonna receive that kind of treatment. Mills Acoustics is the Definition of quality and service, hands down!!!!!

Overall Rating : 10
Point Blank, these Cabs are the ******* ****. I have been playing for 15 years and this is what I have been searching for, and I have heard enough other cabs to know that my search is over!! Dave will be working on a 2 cabs for me at the beginning of next year, and i can't wait. These cabs put the joy into playing and there is nothing out there that even comes close to this. If you're reading this do yourself a favor: Stop ******* around and wasting your time going cab hunting, Mills is the where it is at, and where it is going to stay at. You will truly know what your amp is capable of!!! Get lined into a Mills and hear what you have been missing

They sound is outstanding. I play a lot of differnt styles from hard rock to 50's and it will get any sound I want with just a little adjusting of my Marshall head.

The cab is built like a tank. It has been droped out of my bands trailor a few times and not even a dent in the wood. Very high end construction.

Dave in my opinion is one of the most helpful guys to work with. He has giving may great tips on how to get the best sound I can get of my cab. He always gets back to me if I can't reach him at a certain time. Just really good support and it's nice to be able to talk to the guy that actually built the cab rather than so guy paid behind a desk who has no idea what they are even talking about.

2008 hand made awesome face melting guitar cabinet.

I am in a metal band and this cabinet is the most versatile thing on the planet. I use a HEAVY HEAVY GAIN sound thats already saturated before it even hits my amp's pre tubes and the speakers will not distort. Believe me i tried. I have an Engl Invader and I dimed it out and the louder i got the better my cabinet sounds. It's a beast. Then i'll play it on clean and it is literally the most pristine gorgeous clean sound i have ever heard. Over the years I've used Marshall, Mesa, Saldano, and H&K, cabs and none of come close...the mesa out of all of them is probably the closest to the mills as far as clean sound but the louder you get on a mesa the worse it sounds.

Sound Quality : 10
I use an Gibson explorer with Emg 85's and 81's and a Gibson SG with 2 81's and I've played them both through another rig...for the most part they sounded pretty similar. for the first time i've played them through my rig (with the mills) and They sound, like they should, like two different guitars...completely different equalization spectrum. It was fantastic. Then i started swapping heads...i've never been a fan of marshall amps...untill i used my lead guitarist's with my mills...I don't know marshall puts out their cabs because they make the amp sound terrible, put a marshall on mills cab and find out why all the shredders use modded cabs with their marshall heads. As for me i use an Engl because it's probably one the most brutal amps made and let me tell you when i was using my old marshall cab my head would over power the cab when the gain was on 4 but with the mills i wish engl built a knob that went up to 20 because the speakers just wont give out. everything sounds amazing.

Reliability : 10
I took this thing on an hour and a half long trip along the jersey tpk while it was hanging out of my trunk that was tied down with like sailors rope. With the exception of the a rip in the tolex (due to us shoving in my trunk trying to get it to fit like madmen) nothing...the wood wasn't even bruised it was scary. The thing is a rock and roll fortress. And the louder you play the better it sounds...you can't blow this thing out.

Customer Support : 10
This is the best part. You buy something from marshall, mesa, gibson, fender, anyone....you talk to a representative that probably already forgot your name half way through the phone call. When you get a mills you speak to Dave the owner, who also is the designer, who also builds the damn thing. On top of that Dave and his wife Susie are the sweetest people on the planet...in fact they still have an open invitation to come up and stay with me anytime they're in NYC. Mills is the greatest.

Overall Rating : 10
Bottom line...you wanna rock? Get a Mills. If you want to hear your guitar they way it was meant to be heard get a Mills. If you want to play loud with out having your sounded messed up by a rattling cab or blown speakers...get a Mills. And if you want to meet some people that actually CARE about your INDIVIDUAL sound..get a Mills. I woulda bought this thing if it was twice the price.

bought used, 2 years old. I play mostly metal and hard rock, so the V30 was a great choice for me, along with the rear loaded closed back 4x12 config. The tolex is rugged, the grill cloth is strong, the baffling design is innovative and actually works. No cheap hardware or particle board anywhere. I don't know what other features a cab should have, it's top of the line and includes everything a good cab should. Versatile for anything where a great 4x12 should be.

Incredible sound quality, and this is what counts. I didn't think I really liked V30 that much, from experience with my other cabs, including Mesa, Marshall, Framus, etc... I have not heard V30's sound this good in any other cab I've owned however. I thought my amps were what limited how far I could go on their EQ's, and I've come to the realization that most of it is what the cab can handle. I can practically dime the bass on my amps, and it still stays responsive, I was amazed how much better this cab sounded with my amps. I also really donn't care for the harsher high end and mid hump V30 normally have, but this cab really seems to balance them out. I really didn't think the design of a cab would be able to change that, but they can handle anything my amps can put thru them, and they squeeze every ounce of speaker sensitivity out of the V30. Prepare to be blown away, and don't completely rely on previous experiences with a speaker, these cabs will make any speaker shine.

Reliability : 10
It's built like a tank, everything about it screams quality, from the corner protectors to the casters. The wiring inside is a very thick gauge, every piece of wood is well secured, every joint is reinforced and sealed. I took the back panel off to look inside, and the build quality is incredible with these cabs. Everything in their literature is easily confirmed with one look. There isn't much else to say, other than it's exactly as you would expect a top of the line cab to made.

Customer Support : 10
Dave is great, he gets back to you right away, and is very helpful and friendly. He likes to talk up his product, but after using it, I can see it's completely justified. It is every bit as good as he says. I bought mine used, which was a very rare find, and Dave still answered any questions I had for him. I bought it with no casters, since the previous owner had misplaced them, but Dave was very helpful in getting me new ones. I have no doubt Dave would be willing to fix any issues with a cab under their warranty. I can't really see ever needing to use it however, so I had no problem going used.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing almost 7 years now. I wanted to wait a couple months after getting it to do a review, so I was beyond the honeymoon. I own, and have owned, many high end amps and cabs. I'm fortunate enough to have had the means to afford some excellent equipment for my experience level, and I'm still learning a lot about gear as I progress. Coming across a piece of gear like this is a revelation. If it were lost or stolen, I wouldn't hesitate to get another. I love everything about it, the only downside is the sheer weight of this cab, it's a monster. With the quality of the materials and construction though, that's to be expected. I've played through a lot of high end cabs for a comparison, and none have impressed me as much as this cab. I kind of wish it had a stereo jack, but if it was a real issue, I would just put one in myself. The wiring is high quality and easy to follow. I usually only buy used, and wouldn't have paid the price new for one of these before owning one, I just didn't think any cab could be that much better. After having direct experience with it however, if I need another cab, it will also be a mills, new retail price or not. Comparing it to other high end cabs in the same price range and higher, it's a clear winner to me.

Has all the features you could want in a 4x12. Simplicity with quality and commitment to excellence may be bumper sticker material to most but Dave has gone above and beyond on using only the best materials to build these cabinets.

Sound Quality : 10
Jaw dropping mind blowing until your slobbering in your own pool of drool. Without a doubt the best sounding 4x12 cab I've ever played through or heard in my life.

Reliability : 10
*Knock on wood* It is still breathing strong everytime I roll the volume on my guitar. I strongly doubt I'll ever have a reliability issue with this beast.

Customer Support : 10
If there was a 20 rating I would choose it. Dave is by far the nicest and most caring professional I have ever dealt with in the industry. He's "good people" as I often heard growing up in the South and that my friend, isn't a label you get easily.

Overall Rating : 10
If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else? Absolutely without a doubt a cashier's check would be headed to Dave for a replacement.

10+ On the Overall rating scale. If you ever wondered what your amp was truly meant to sound like? Hook it up to a 4x12 Afterburner and get clearance from the tower to blast off because that's exactly what the afterburner was designed to do. Sending your overall tone into the stratosphere!

Only thing I would like to see possibly added is the hard plastic strips the Marshall cabs have to keep the feet of your head from marring the tolex. Just a cosmetic thing and doesn't effect the sound but I want to keep it looking just as great as it sounds.

Don't scoff at the price. Do whatever you can to save up and purchase a high quality 4x12. You will not regret it at all.

Bought the Mills 4x12 Afterburner last year, new and direct from Dave at Mills Acoustics. They are pretty much custom made to order. It is loaded with Celestion V30's with an 8 ohm input and thru-put for adding additional cabs. I use the cab with a Mesa Dual Recto for most of my playing. Sometimes I run the Dr. Z Maz 18 through it and either way, it sounds awesome.

Sound Quality : 10
Awesome cabinet. Very good bass response and tight highs and mids. The sound quality is great. Not mushy or flabby like most production 4x12 cabs. Of course, the cab is loaded with Celestion V30's. But, the solid construction and baffle placement is key. Cruise around the webstite (www.millsacoustics.com) to find out more info. I also have a 4x12 Mesa Recto cab and the Mills blows it away. Not all cabs are created equal!

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank. I seriously doubt one would ever have problems with reliability.

As I live overseas, I had lots of email conversation with Dave at Mills. He is always quick to respond during the manufacturing process and after the sale. Excellent customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing on and off for 20+ years, rock to blues. I had never heard of Mills, but stumbled across them on My Space, then struck up a conversation with Dave Mills and ended up ordering a cab. Compared to the usual production cabs (Mesa, Marshall, Orange, etc), this cab beats them all hands down on construction and sound quality at the same price. All the cabs are made to order with lots of attention to detail.

A cab is a cab............not so.........Mills Acoustics....AMAZING! Our equipment was built in 2007 and amazing from the sound to the quality. We have palyed everything from Mesa to Marshall and truly could not believe the sound these cabs generated.

Sound Quality : 10
These cabs are absolutrely amazing sounding. We purchased a stack (412A/412B) in order to try them out and from the minute we unpacked them.....we kinda had an idea these were special. They are bulit like tanks and perform like no other. Bottom line, Parmalee plays a complete backline of Mills Acoustics cabs (stacks) including the 410B bass cabs. We play PRS and Gibson guitars, Marshall and Soldano guitar amps and Ampeg for the bass amp. Just an amazing sounding product.

We were playing a gig at ECU in the football stadium, a strong wind (microburst) hit topling our cabs (1 week old at time) and gear. The cabs when hooked up, fired up and performed like nothing happened. Other than a few scratches, there was no issue with performance. Mills Acoustics delivered. We have no purchased custom road cases from Crown Case in Charlotte to protect or Mills gems.

Dave Mills knows his product like no other company. Parmalee loves to play boutique equipment for that reason..........you can speak to the maker and designer. Dave.......great product.....thank you so much for your support.

I purchased the first of two afterburners 412B cabinets from Dave this summer and, I have to say, after searching for years for a cab that can handle the gain and bottom end that I push through my amp ... I finally found what I was looking for!! I usually have to worry about taming the low end on my eq when playing at higher volumes with cabs, but not this one!! This amp barks like a pitbull and it really moves the air with high gain as well as clean ... I literally have a wind tunnel going through my living room when I play through it at home!

Sound Quality : 10
Ive played 2 venues with it already and Ive been told by both soundmen that they had to turn me way down on the PA because this cab really cuts through the mix of the band like a bandsaw!! And the sound quality is admirable ... this cab breaks up so well, that the higher the volume, the more focused and tight it becomes with the gain of the amp!

Reliability : 10
This thing is built like a brick shthouse! I'm afraid of damaging MY TRUCK when I load or unload it for a show!!

Customer Support : 10
I first started dealing with Dave on myspace and then by phone ... he is a real down to earth guy who really puts alot of pride into these cabs and you can tell! Dealing directly with the guy who puts his own sweat and blood into these cabs is unheard of these days ... and its really kickass to know that when you call him, your going to get Dave on the phone, or get a call back from him within a few hours ... We've even talked on the phone for hours from tone to everyday life!! I cant think of better customer support, even with a product that is built as well as these cabs are! He even called me to make sure that I had recieved the cab and to make sure that the amp was in the same condition as when it left his shop! THAT is customer appreciation!!

Overall Rating : 10
I think I've said all that I can say about this cab!! It will be the last cab I'll ever need to buy!! Well, except for the second afterburner that I plan to get soon!!

I ordered Two 2007 Red angled Mills Afterburners with Celestion vintage 30 speakers These Speakers seem to have the best sonic spectrum for the type of rock Music I play. I ordered these Direct from Dave at Mills Acoustics; I have been playing professionally for 20 years and have used most of what is being sold on the market. First it???s a pleasure to see how Mills packaged these for delivery; every step is thought out to make sure that the oversized cabinet will arrive in perfect condition, I have sent many a Marshall cab back because of dings and dents from the UPS gauntlet and horrific handling procedures, all the accessories on the cab The Handles Corners wheels and jacks ect. Are all built to Military specs! Or at least if the Military were to build Cabs I???m sure these would be the Specs. Very solid very road worthy!!!

Sound Quality : 10
Here is where the rubber meets the road! I use a variety of custom built amps and I demand a lot from my cabs, My Diezel usually will destroy a cab with Brutally cruel bottom end, I mean really it will torture a standard Marshall cabinet where it rattles and the sound starts to muddy up those of you that play Diezel???s you know what I mean, Not with this Cab it really can handle the Diezel, I use a Soldano SLO 100 for Beautiful midrange lead tone when I want the notes to just cry, This is where the vintage 30 sounds its best, the upper midrange cuts through the mix and just sings, the extra thick wall design and the oversized geometry of this Cabinet actually projects this lead tone better than anything I have ever heard. I use a Cornford MK 50 as well which is an extremely focused high gain amp; with the afterburner the sound is very percussive very I call it woody sounding you can here it on my clips, the notes are all clearly defined and easily heard.

Reliability : 10
Very new But Great so far!!!!!

Customer Support : 10
I have called the company and talked with the Owner and others and all I can say is that these guys are musicians building the best speaker cabs on Earth period! They will be there for me when I need them.

Overall Rating : 10
As you might be able to tell I only buy the best amp gear on the planet and I take my tone very very seriously and at the end of the signal chain what comes out of the speaker is what you actually sound like, that is why the Mills afterburner is in my rig, did I mention that these cabs are loud! If these Cabs were stolen I would have to replace them.

An incredible sounding, totally overbuilt, oversized 4X12! Heavy duty steel handles, 2" ball bearing casters, steel reinforced inside corners, Steel exterior corners and an internal ported baffle that stands between the left and right pairs of speakers that's tuned to help the cabinet stay tight and focused as the db's go up! Very Huge and open sounding!

This cab sounds as big as it looks. What I noticed right away is this cab wants to be abused. Basically the harder you push it the more it shines. Awesome for big arena gigs! The bigger the stage the better!

Reliability : 10
It's the best built cab I've ever seen or owned. I can't imagine a structural problem, totally road worthy. I'm sure this cab would out last any 4x12 in the industry. This is the one in the commercial they toss out of an airplane and it just keeps on working!

These cabinets are just sick! I have owned so many different rigs over the years. I have owned cabinets from Marshall, Mesa Boogie, Line 6, Ampeg, crate, the list goes on and on. I have spent TONS of money on this stuff over the years. Most of them were terrible, some were descent. (Mesa, marshall, VHT, the higher end stuff.) But none came close to this Mills cab. I can go from clean tones to really heavy tones with ease. this cab can do it all without breaking a sweat.

It says here to be critical on a review, and I am. I really cannot say one bad thing about this. It even comes with a nice leather cover!

Sound Quality : 10
Again, this cabinet can do it all. I can deliver a mean crunch, and jump to shimmering highs with no problem. No more need for two seperate rigs.

Reliability : 7
Well, I have only had it for about a month now. This thing is built like a tank. Its fairly heavy for a cabinet. Its bigger than normal cabinets. However its acoustically tuned unlike other cabs. Its made with quality materials, and you can tell. Ill give it a 7 only because Its brand new and I havent put it through the real road tests. However cabinets of less quality have never let me down, so Im positive this tank wont either.

Customer Support : 7
I have never spoke with Mills for customer support, but I have spoken with them. They seem like really cool people. The guitar store I got them from said the same thing. Its a little shop and im cool with everyone up there. So I trust them as well. I hear nothing but good stuff about the crew over at Mills Acoustics.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing for about 12 years now. I have owned so much gear over the years. This is the first time EVER that I have been 100% satisfied with my tone. about 50% of this is due to that cab. I sold my marshall 1960B's and got these after I tried it out. Just amazing.

I would definitely get these again if they were stolen. The only thing about this cab thats a hassle is the weight and girth. However, you just cant get that sound without it so its worth it in spades.

8 ohm 280W 4x12 cab with Celestian V30's and a parallel jack. 13Ply void free Baltic Birch which is water proofed even before assembly. Nice steel corners (not leather like some of the 'other' brands). Large. This cab is Large. It is an oversized cab. The outer dimensions are 32"x32"x16". I set this next to another 4x12 cab and I think the MILLS could eat it. No, really. I think that other cab would actually fit INSIDE this cab. I might try it one day and take a picture of my MILLS 'eating' another cab. Very nice steel handles.

Sound Quality : 10
Here's the reason we buy this stuff:
There's some kind of voodoo inside with the extra internal volume (by volume, I mean cubic dimension) and their proprietary baffling. Let's not leave out the V30's (spared no expense). All together with the construction of the cab culminating in a tonal quality that frankly, you would expect from a cab this well built and looks this good. But not every cab has it. This one does. And I have two.

Reliability : 10
I've had my cabs for about four months now. I put a 10 in the category even for this short time just because I know how it's built, what it has inside, and how it 'feels'. I couldn't imagine much really going on with this thing unless you dropped it from a roof. Even then, you'd probably be able to play through them (after you repared the pavement of course).

Customer Support : 10
Here is why I will stay with MILLS:
I'm not sure they can be equaled in this category. I really hope they do not change. I know they've been growing fast, but Dave truly seems to want that small shop feel. He personally answers the phone AND SPENDS TIME WITH YOU! One time, I think we spoke for almost an hour just gabbing about gigs gear and bands. I've never met the man personally, but someday when the band or just I am in town, I will make it a point to shake his hand (and steal a beer from his fridge).

Overall Rating : 10
This is a boutique cab in every sense. It just looks and sounds great. I'm sure I missed some stuff above but you should get a good feel for my opinion of these cabs. I've been playing for about 20 years and the only thing that pisses me off is that I didn't have these things 20 years ago.

And they were good, but nowhere near as nice as the Mills are. I can tell you first hand because I listen to those 4X12's during our practices and live shows. I was a Mesa user for years, both for live and studio. I swore by the mesa cabs and didn't want to try anything else because to me Mesa cabs were the standard. Well I decided to see what all the hype was about with these new Mills Acoustics cabs and i haven't looked back since. The Mills cabs hands down are far beyond any of their competition. The response is unbelieveable. You can actually feel the difference of your tone. Modulation and time based effects ring much more clearly and much longer. Low end is very tight..no flab or mud with this cab. Great projection also...cab sounds just as good 20ft away as it does with your ear up to it.

It's a 4x12 wired for Mono operation with a parallel ext output and has Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. Was made between November and December 2006. Cab measures 32" x 32" x 15" and weights about 115 lbs. Not too much to talk about on features since it is a speaker cabinet, but it is very well built (you can tell that from the first time you can try to pick it up), very heavy and sturdy. Casters are really smooth and realy help to move this monster around. Might I add my cab is kick ass red!! it really looks impressive and sounds even better.

Sound Quality : 10
I would rate this a 20 if I could. It can handle anything you and your amp can come up with. Cleans are brighter and have more overall prescence, crunch sounds come out beautiful, and my high gain settings are given new life. Everything you can play will sound better tru a Mills 412. I've tried Marshall 1960s and Mesa cabs, my Afterburner is definitely out of their league. No other cab in the market will handle low end like this, I tune to Drop B and trust me when I say it's hard to find a cab that will withstand open 6th string palm mutings in this tuning... Mills has no problem. You better believe Dave when he says you can cause structural damage with his cabs; after breaking in the speakers I was jaming at oderate volume, and decided to crank it up, when suddenly, I started hearing vibrations from somewhere, so I thought "this cab is farting when I palm mute", well to my surprise, the vibrations were coming from MY WALLS!!! Yet, the clarity you get at any volume is just amazing.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank. Reinforced corners on the inside and out, wood is given waterproof treatment prior to assembly, casters are really smooth and virtually noiseless, and are very easy to pop out (won't fall off by themselves like I've seen in low quality cabs). I've just had my cab for a couple of weeks, but I'm not worried because it is built by people who worry about the quality of their product. I wanted to buy a road case so I wouldn't damage the tolex or grill cloth when transporting to gigs, but after picking it up, I think I might consider an alternate solution.

Customer Support : 10
If I could rate Saund Quality at 20, I would rate Dave's customer support at 100. He is a really nice guy to talk to, and guided me through since I first called to ask for details up to the time I got the cab. He will not answer yes or no like most people in the business would, but will explain in detail everything you ask. I just wish more people learn from Dave's wonderful example of what customer service should really be.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 10 years now, and I haven't heard anything that even comes close to the power and clarity of a Mills. Mesas and Marshalls don't even compare to this cab, they might build nice amps, but their cabs sure have a very long way to go before they can even touch a Mills. Now I know that people who say Mesa or Marshall is the best is because they've never heard a Mills...oh but they will (evil laugh). Definitely worth every single penny, and like Dave himself said "when the other guitar player in your band hears your cab, he'll want one for himself right away" and so he did. Having both guitars coming out of these cabs will definitely improve our sound. I surely am proud to be part of the Mills family.

I don't think I've ever heard a better clean sound out of any amp/cab ever! Not to mention that the dirty channell now tracks as tight as possible with great crunch in the lows and clarity without bite in the highs... It even took my high gain channel, which previously hissed like crazy when I wasn't playing, and diminished the hiss without diminishing th eguts of the sound. It really has to be heard to be believed. Best cabinet ever. I literally kissed my cabinet after the first show with it. I think I'm in love.

These people are only in business because they cared enough in the first place to create a product with the music at the front instead of the money, each cabinet is carefully handcrafted just for you.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing concerts and clubs for 40 yrs and if anything were to happen to my Mills Cab Dave would have another one to me within a few days. Mills cabs are built like a fine piece of furniture with a rock solid foundation, I've tried all the other cabs on the market and there is simply no comparision.

My Cab was made in 2006, factory direct. It can handle anything I'll throw at it, and make every note sing. From crunchy overdriven distrotion, to soft clean tones, it can handle any style with ease. The more volome, the better it sounds.

Sound Quality : 10
Very bright, tight, punchy, and super clean tone. You hear every note, no muffled woofy low end. Like I said above, this cab was made to be CRANKED. The louder I go, the better it sounds, and the more it seems to come to life. Crystal Clear, I don't think I've ever heard such a clear, cuuting sound come from another cab. I had a Marshall, and this totally makes it obsolete!!

Reliability : 10
Mills Acoustics doesn't mess around, total quality all the way around. Easy to handle, built super sturdy, and doesn't way 5 tons like my old Marshall.

Customer Support : 10
I have never had an email, or call go without an immediate response. Very friendly, and professional. You feel totally appreciated, and are treated like "family"

Overall Rating : 10
Hands down the best Cabinet I've ever heard, seen etc. I'm about to record a new CD with this bad boy, and I cuoldn't be more excited to hear the results, as I know they'll be awsome. I'll never play another Cabinet, looking forward to getting another for the full stereo experience!!

My cabinet was made in 2006. This Cabinet is absolutely the best built cabinet I have ever seen. Absolutely easy to handle, though it is alot bigger and built better than all competitors. I have been an avid Mesa cabinet user, and those were good. But, Mills totally annihilates my Mesa, thus replacing it completely. I have a Mesa Dual rectifier Tremo-Verb, which is Hot-Rodded with additional wattage outpu, and I can run it at 70% and the cabinet does not flinch.

Sound Quality : 10
I am a post production engineer by trade. This cabinet makes no significant standing waves. Which means there is no audible or felt bass frequency disturbance. For those who do not understand this explaination. Standing waves are commonly heard in peoples trunk when they have a bass box booming, which makes their car sound like it's rattling to pieces. None of that from the Mills, though I run a hot head. Absolutely clear.

Also, I ran some effects moduclations to test the resolution of the cabinet, and since the phase cancelling power on this cabinet is so previlent, I actualy heard additional logorhytms on mdulated effects such as flangers and delays. This is absolutely the best cabinet evcr built.

Reliability : 10
Let's not even bother. This thing is built like a tank.

Dave Mills runs a tight ship. You will never need to call him for anything concerning problems. Unless you drop it off a roof, this thing needs no babysitting.

This Cab was created custom in August of '06. It is made with 18mm, 13-ply Baltic Birch,CELESTION VINTAGE 30s and wired with 14 AWG copper wire for all connections.

Not to mention my kick ass red finish!

Sound Quality : 10
This Cab is crystal clear compared to my Marshall 1960A. After playing the two side by side, I saw no comparision between them. Whereas the Marshall sounded muddy and contained, The Mills was raw with an unleashed sound.

I use this Cab alongside my Les Paul Standard Faded with BurstBucker Pro Pickups.

Reliability : 10
Only had the Cab for about a month now, however, the build on it is rock solid. I would have no problem using this at a gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 10
Never had any need for customer support regarding repairs. However, when creating the Cab, Dave walked me through everything and was always around when I had any questions/ inquiries.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 7 years now. I am in a touring rock band that demands equipment that 1. needs a top of the line sound and 2. will be reliable enough to last for years.

This Cab not only sounds incredible, but is built like a tank. I have no worries taking this monster on tour, lugging it in and out of trailers every night.

I run a Les Paul Standard Faded through my Peavey XXX through my Mills.

This is by FAR the best 412 Cab I have EVER owned! Completely hand made, 13 ply birch, custom internal baffle, and I had them put 100W Celestion 12's in mine. Its just a beast of a cab! From blues (what I do)to all out sonic assault this cab covers it all with ease!

Sound Quality : 10
I am using a 1960 Strat through a Rivera Knucklehead K100 with this cab. I play very hard edged blues/rock.(think Band Of Gypsies meets old ZZ Top, mixed with SRV)This cab puts out a TON of low end bass response! I can rattle pictures off the back wall if I want with this thing! Its VERY punchy and distinct, and the high end isnt quite as brittle sounding as some of the other cabs I have played. It makes my Marshall 1960B Cab sounds and look like a toy....really! Im overly impressed with the way the Mills Cabs sound, after playing through them, I will never play anything else.

Reliability : 10
I use this thing day in and day out. Up and down stairs, in and out of the band van, inside or outside, rain or shine and have never had a single problem out of it. I could probably pull this thing behind the van instead of in it and it would still sound good.

Mills obviously takes pride in building his cabs as solid and durable as an army tank. Just a few pounds heavier than most 412s but its totaly worth it!

Customer Support : 10
I give their customer support an 11... Custom made my cab like I wanted it and will personally fix any problem I have out of it..I guarantee you that you wont find this kind of "one-on-one personal Customer Support" out of ANY of the big cab makers. Mills was a pleasure to do business with!

Overall Rating : 10
Overall, the only thing that would sound better in my rig than the Mills 412B, would be 2 Mills 412B cabs! Full stack baby! I have plugged in through 2 of em and ran my head at 4ohms and OH MY GOD! Jimi woulda loved it!

I give this product a 10 all around..

If you would like to hear it in action visit :

I was playing my Rivera K100 through one and a 1969 Marshall Plexi through another, wide open and they sounded godly!

This cab festures 4 Celestion Vintage 30s which in my opinion are probably the most well rounded guitar speaker ever made. The cab itsels is made from 13 ply baltic birch wood. What does that mean, you can smack this thing with sledge hammer and it won't hurt a thing. Just picking the cab up you can feel how solid the construction is. I have seen and played every cab on the market and one look at this cab makes the others look like toys. The grill cloth is excellent, the weave lets sound travel through without the dampening sound that some cabs get from using a less expensive grill cloth that almost feels plastic. This stuff is real mice. There are steel reinforced corners which add protection. The casters pull out and plug in with ease so you dont have to fuss to get them out to put the cab flat on the stage. Really the sturdiest, meanest cab I have put my hands on.

Sound Quality : 10
I use various Schecter guitars with Seymour Duncan and EMGs, as well as a Les Paul Standard with EMGs. The Amps I use are a VHT GP3 ran into a VHT 2-90-2, a Mesa Dual Rectifier with EL34s and A Mesa Road King. The Mills Cabinet really produces every harmonic subtlety and the nuance of the different amps that I have never heard a cabinet do before. The cleans become crystal clear and LOUD. You don't have to use gain in the clean channels to get good level, the sound is very open and has a natural reverb quality to it that gives you great classic sounding cleans, but you can also dial in super fat low end cleans as well. The distortion this cab produces is unbelievable, it really translates the signal from the amp the way it is intended to be. The controls on my amps seem to actually be effective now, the smallest adjustments actually change the tone. I can dial in a much more personal signature sound. The distortion is well focused, if you want it tight, it is tight, if you want it loose it is loose. This cab is more for the player that is really trying to identify their style of playing and their own personal sound, this cab doesn't bury the subtle things that you do with your instrument. But the cabinet will not cover up mistakes either like other cabs will, you will get the best sound from this cab, but you need to know how to play tour instrument. I would have to say that I was shocked when I plugged in and for the first time heard everything coming through the way that i intended it to, rather than fighting with the cab to get the right sound to come across.

Reliability : 10
Well, like i said the cab is built like a tank. It faithfully gives you great tone wherever you take it. I tour around the country and Europe and i know that i can rely on this thing to work time and time again. If my tech dropped it out of the back of the truck, it can go right up on stage and it will be fine. I don't think i could break it if I tried.

Customer Support : 10
Dealing with Dave has been a pleasure. He's a real good hearted guy that really cares about the cabinets he's building, but I think he cares just as much about getting them in the hands of good musicians and really seeing the cabs doing what they were built to do, which is make a great band sound even better. He stayed in touch with me letting me know every step of the way where the cabs were at in production and made sure that i was going to have them in time for touring this summer. Really exceptional service.

Overall Rating : 10
My overall opinion of the cab is that it is the best cab I have ever owned or played on. If they were stolen, I would definitely replace them, they are now a very integral part os my sound. I have played Mesa, Bogner, VHT, Diezel, and a heck of a lot of real cheap cabs too. The Mills cab just has a charm about it that kills the others. I would recommend the cab to anyone that is really looking for the best tone that they can get andthe reliability to be able to reproduce that tone every time they plug in.

Good solid construction. The cloth used for the grill is really nice! 280watts @ 8 Ohms. Has an ext. out. Reinforced metal corner covers. This thing has got the works and its a monster to boot. Heavy as all hell - which just goes with what I always say "if its heavy, you know its good."
This thing is one of the biggest 4x12 cabs I have ever seen. Yes bigger then the Mesa Oversized Recto cab. And the TONE is BIGGER then any I have ever heard.

Sound Quality : 10
I use PRS Customs and Gibson Les Pauls through Mesa Boogie Tremoverb heads. This cab really complements my set up well. Its got all the bite of an expensive Marshall cab and the low end response of the Mesa Recto cabs. But the greatest thing is the articulation and clarity that you can hear through this beast, especially with clean playing. Made my clean tone 10 times more crystal and the overdriven sounds packed with much more bite! Great frequency response! You would have to hear it to believe it.

Reliability : 10
Just got it. Have only used it to play out once so far. The thing is built rock solid. Its like a little tank! Im assumming that it can withstand alot of miles and the labors of a touring rock band. Im sure it will last for years to come!

Customer Support : 10
A++. Dave over at Mills is a great guy. He really helped me out with getting the cab and does amazing work. 100% guaruantee! You can't beat that with a stick!!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing in a professional band for the past 4 years. I have used alot of cabs (Mesa Rectos, Marshall 1960As, Peavy 5150s) this is by far one of the best cabs I have ever had the pleasure of playing through. If your serious about tone, then this is the cab for you.
The only thing is that its is a BIG cab and HEAVY, but hey, the best gear is always the heaviest (i.e. Gibson Les Pauls, any good tube head).
You heard the rest, now play the best!!

My Afterburner 412B was handcrafter just months ago by MILLS acoustics, with 8 ohm, 280W mono cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30's and oversized enclosure. It's power immediately blew me away. It's clarity... I'm getting ahead of myself.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm running my Afterburner out of a Peavey Classic 50 combo amp. I've played it out of a few heads and each one was complimented perfectly by the clairity and power that has put Mills on the map as the leader, and "company to beat" in Cabinetry. I play Hard Rock, and you couldn't ask for more of a beast than this 110 pound road worthy monster.

Reliability : 10
I never have to think twice about taking my Afterburner out on the road. I can push it off a building roof and rest assured it'd come out in one piece. For God's sake it's 13 ply birchwood, talk about well built! If you haven't noticed I love the freakin thing!

Customer Support : 10
Ok, now here's where Mills shines (well they sparkle and gleam all over the place, but Dave Mills himself shines in this department) I've never waited more than 20 minutes for a response from this guy on myspace. (www.myspace.com/millsacoustics) I've never called him once when he didn't pick up the phone and talk to me about random stupid things. He's very accessible, easy to talk to and stands behind his product, and he has no reason not to! Kudos Mills Acousics, you have set the bar high.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing 11 years. I use an Aria Cardinal Pro II guitar with EMG Zakk Wylde pickups and I'm blasting out of a Peavey Classic 50 jacked right into my new Mills Afterburner. If my Afterburner were stolen first I'd cry uncontrollably, then I'd hunt down the dude that did it. I'd find people who are as close to him as I am to my Afterburner and make them pay!! LOL It's clean, crisp everything you want from a cab. For those of you who think having the right cab doesn't help your sound, go try a Mills next to a Mesa, or a Marshall, you'll change your tune and your tone!

The Afterburner 412B is built like a Sherman Tank. It has amazing attention to detail, quality and most importantly TONE!! Incredible depth and clarity. 8 ohm, 280W mono cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30's and oversized enclosure.

Sound Quality : 10
The Afterburner 412B added so much depth and growl to my sound. Right out of the box it was apparent that this cabinet has all the right stuff even without making any adjustments to the rest of my rig. I have played through just about every cabinet on the market and there isn't even a close comparison to Mills. Playing through a Peavey 5150, the Afterburner brought my amp to life.

Reliability : 10
Just received it but with it's construction standards and attention to quality, this cabinet should out live most of it's users.

Customer Support : 10
Customer support with Mills Acoustics is unparalleled. Response time is faster than you can say "Dave Mills". :-)

Overall Rating : 10
It's obvious right out of the box that these cabinets are not your ordinary guitar cabinets. After 15 years of playing I have tried just about every cab on the market and Mills Acoustics has raised the bar for anyone who is serious about TONE! Incredible attention to quality, detail and craftmanship. If you're looking for a new guitar cabinet, look no further. Mills is the soon-to-be industry standard for any guitarist that knows it all starts with good tone and outstanding customer service.

8 ohm mono cabinet with 4 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. Slightly oversized. Heavy duty construction. Includes an acoustically ported brace that is attached to the back panel. Rated and 8 since its only a cabinet and only so many features can be provided in a cabinet.

Sound Quality : 10
This cabinet sounds fantastic. It really just amplifies the source without adding its own color. The speakers just come alive. Clean tones became more 3 dimensional with this cabinet. Dirty tones cut thru the mix and the low end is nice and tight. No flabby low strings anymore. I started with a Mesa Boogie Recto cab, it was very scooped sounding and the low end was flabby. I then upgraded to a Bogner 4x12, which I was told was the best cab out there. The Bogner was much better sounding than the Recto, it cut thru the mix much better, but still had a problem with the low end. The Mills cabinet took care of all of the problems, cutting thru the mix, tight low end and went an extra step by reproducing the full spectrum of the speakers range. I am hooked. My cabinet search has ended.

Reliability : 10
I have had this cab for about a month now and have not had any problems. It feels like its built like a tank and should last a long time.

Customer Support : 10
Okay, I don't know how I could give this category anything other than a 10. Prior to purchasing the cabinet I emailed Dave Mills several time asking questions about the cabinet. Dave was always prompt in returning his emails and always provided a great deal of information, not the typical short and sweet yes no answers you get from most manufactures. I purchased the cabinet directly from Mills Acoustic. Dave thought he had a 412B in stock, but it turned out that the unit was a demo unit. They worked over the weekend to get the cab ready for me and it come down to me needing it for a recording session and it would not arrive in time via standard shipping. Dave Mills delivered the cabinet personally to my studio and set it up for me so I would have it in time for the recording session. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and MILLS is in Mobile, Alabama so its over a 3 hour drive. Thats outstanding customer service. Hard to find service like that any more!

Overall Rating : 10
What more can I say, its built like a tank, it sounds awesome and the customer service is outstanding. I will be keeping this cab for a long time and I go through allot of gear trying to find the perfect sound. I would recommend this cabinet to anyone without hesitation. Thanks Dave for a great cabinet.

My buddy told me about this cabinet and called it the "Hatteras" of guitar cabinets. He's right. It is solid, heavy and built like a bank vault. It has 4 Celestion Vintage 30s and is solid 3/4" birch plywood throughout, even the rear panel. There is an internal brace/ported baffle like nothing I've ever seen, and the inside cab corners are even steel reinforced! It came with black elephant hide tolex and a really nice heavy black grillcloth with white piping. Also has plug-in casters and rubber feet. I bought mine from the company website and put my 1960B up for sale as soon as it came in.

Sound Quality : 10
My amp is a Mesa Dual Recto head and my main axe is a '97 American Strat Custom. I play clubs for a living and mainly rock/metal. All I can say is, AMAZING!! Their idea is to take the cabinet out of the equation and allow the V30s to run as efficiently as possible. The result is an unbelievably true sound even at major volume. On their website, they tell you this is exactly what their cabinet was designed to do. I didn't realize how muddy my previous cab sounded. I am a believer now.

Reliability : No Opinion
Don't know yet but it looks and feels like it could fall out a third story window and survive. Everything appears to be very high quality. Time will tell.

Customer Support : 10
Again, I don't know. The cab is new. But it has a lifetime warranty and the guys at Mills are very proud of what they build and very easy to deal with. They tell you to contact them immediately if there is any problem, whatsoever. I am totally happy with this cab.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing professionally for about 8 years and it's how I make a living. I've owned probably every kind of amp and cabinet you can think of at one time or another. This cabinet is on stage with me at every gig and will remain that way. If it were stolen, my insurance would be buying another one just like it. The Mills team tells you they build the finest guitar cabinet "on planet Earth" and that sounds kind of cocky at first. But when you get it in your hands and hear it for the first time, you can't help but agree with them. My next purchase will be their 2x12 model which should be great for some of the smaller venues we play. When I get it, I'll post another review.
