I bought this amp to use with harmonica and am very pleased. It has a very gritty tone for harp that makes fellow harp players green with envy. I had a 3 prong plug and line out installed and for all intents and purposes will be the last amp I buy until it breaks. It's small, light, cool looking and does the job. volume, tone, tremelo, simple.

I've been playing harp quite a while. I use hotrodded bullet mics only. I started with a danelectro nifty 50 but it broke(though for solid state had a good sound). I found a great deal on an old silvertone practice amp(50 bucks,I stole it)it had a great sound but croaked after a while. I got another silvertone(1485)2 channel @ 85 watts per, with 6x10 jensen cabinet but was overkill for harp,a real monster too!(wish I'd kept it). I have another amp(peavy classic 20) that's tubed for harp but prefer the tone of the maggie. If you're a harp player you'd like this amp.

This amp was manufactured around 1965, has two tubes, Volume, tone, tremelo controls, and footswitch. 3 to 5 watts rms. Eight inch Jenson speaker.On off switch, two inputs, one high, and one low.It has a very low noise level, and has fantastic tone.

I play a Fender Jazzmaster through this amp, and play mostly Blues, rock,and jazz. This is a light, very portable amp. It has a fantastic tube tone, it breaks up nicely when pushed, excellent tremelo. All frequencies are amplified well. Great for recording, and practice.

I have been playing 40 years. I have owned Polytone(very sweet, but should eliminate the lame distortion circuit, and get an internet site), Fender(noisy),( great reverb), Carvin, Dr.Z(noisy), Roland(blues cube, yes!), and this will hold its own with any of them, tone wise. Very low noise level. Gibson, Seagull, Fender, National, Taylor, Yamaha guitars. I mostly use this for practice, and dislike amp hiss of any kind. All of these amps sound good in a live playing situation, as the hiss can not be heard. My favorite amps are Polytone, Magnatone,and Roland.This amp would be great in a recording studio, or for a small low volume gig.
