This is a bass amp head made in 1965 by Estey . This cabinet is a 30.5" wide ranch style with plenty of room for the growing tube family ! Those tubes consist of , from back L to R ,6CA7 , 6CA7 , with a 12AU7 behind , 12AX7 , 12AX7 . It's a crowd in there . This simple tube line up produces a house full of tone however . Ch. 1 is labelled Bass , Ch. 2 is Normal . Volume , treble , and bass pots for each . High and low gain inputs for both . A dimmer pot for the lumi-strip under the pot labels . A normal / record switch , external speaker jack , and power switch with standby , anti hum 1 and 2 complete the control surface . The normal / record seems to shave the highs a little . A solid state rectifier circuit was cutting edge in 1965 .

Sound Quality : 7
Amp has a round clean tone and can be cranked to max with almost no audible noise ! I use the Bass Ch. for Fender types and the Normal Ch. for Gibsons with great results . This has a powerful voice .

Reliability : 5
Tubes have plenty of room to breathe in this one . Mine has 3 different pot makers so those origionals were not to great . I have not had a problem with it yet .

Thes guys used to be in Torrance , Cal. , then they moved to Harmony PA. , then I heard they forwarded to somewhere in N.Y. , so you get the picture .

Overall Rating : 7
This is a loud sweet toned vintage amp head . It has helped me expand my sonic palette . It is clean all the way to the top and not a lot of amps can make that claim ! A great bass amp .

This is a 1966-67 model bass amp. It has two channels one for bass and the other for guitar, and two inputs for each channel (one is high gain and the other low.) It is a pretty versatile amp that would sound ok playing most types of music. I wouldn't recomend it for jazz or blues though. It is tube and powers 130 watts. The bad thing about it is it has no reverb. The features I don't use are the dimmer and the recorder/normal switch. Other than that it's a great bass amp.

Sound Quality : 7
This amp was made for a bass and sounds better when played by a bass. I play a 2002 Mustang bass and this amp through a Dean Markley cab, and this amp puts out. The tone sounds better turned up though. For guitar I play a strat set on the bridge pickup and this amp will give decent sounding distortion on the normal channel. When it is turned down its tone is warm, but nothing special.

Reliability : 7
This amp was broken when I bought it, but easily fixed because it was just a fuse. That was in 2000 It hasn't broken on me since and I play out of it reguarly. I give it a 7.

Customer Support : No Opinion
To get this amp fixed I just took it to the local amp guy. So I wouldn't know about the company.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing since 2000, and this amp was the amp I bought to practice with my band and be heard. It accomplished that and did more! I would probably buy something else if it was stolen considering this is a hard to find amp. This is a functional amp, but is pretty ugly. I wish it had reverb, but other than that it was definately worth my money.

Probably made in the mid 60's.Not quite an all tube amp,it had
2-6ca7,3-12ax7,solid state rectifier.I changed it to 2-6L6 after
it broke down this year.It is a 2-channel bass amp that I use
for regular electric guitar. One channel is labeled bass and the
other is labeled normal.I also installed a cooling fan.
It is a head only, and quite large, mostly an empty box.I play
it through a homemade 2-12 cab w/Emminence,open back.
It has volume, bass, treble on each channel,standby/ground/power
switch,panel illumination[doesn't work],speaker out.
It had 50W with the EL34s,has 40W w/6L6s.
The schematic is glued in the cabinet.

Sound Quality : 7
I bought this amp because I wanted to be heard over our
new drummer, and my Princeton reverb isn't loud enough.I use an
attenuator cable and drive it w/aux speaker out of the Fender.
The MP4 itself doesn't get very loud,I guess it has low gain.
I use a 80's strat and play rock, country rock mostly.
It does not sound pretty or sweet if you ask me,but the other guys
say it sounds great. The bass response is very good, and the tone
controls are very effective.
The distorted sound is fine, not great, but I have been told I
was too loud ,which was my goal.

Reliability : 8
One of the EL34s shorted, and I think they run too hot anyway,
so I replaced them w/6L6s and re-biased.After installing the fan,I have good confidence in it.I expect it to take its beating and
keep working,or else it's outta here.
By the way, when I got this thing it had cables w/octal plugs
installed in the tube sockets, with 20 inch cables going to a small
box with tube sockets mounted by the back panel I think for
cooling.I wonder if this is stock? Anyway, with the fan,I got rid of that crap.

Forget about it.It was nice to find the schematic inside
so I could fix it myself.I give em a 4 for that.

Overall Rating : 7
I been playing since 82,I used to have a twin reverb{70's},but got tired of lugging it around.Sure could have used it with this
drummer, though.I bought this because it's cheap and has enough power
to cut through.
I'm not sure I could find another one,but would buy another for
this price if it were stolen, which I don't think will happen
because it's too ugly.
I wish it had a reverb.
