The Marshall 1922 cab is loaded with 2 Celestion G12H-75s.
16 ohms stereo or 8 ohms mono. Lighter than I expected, and made of solid materials.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this amp with my Peavey XXL head, and it sounds great. Brutal distortion, sparkling cleans.

Reliability : 10
It seems very sturdy, the wood is large, the plastic handles are very strong. I would gig without a backup for sure.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Marshall.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing during 3 years and I used many cabs. This one sounded great with my Peavey XXL. This cab is more than great in my opinion.

year made unknown.
it has 2 12" celestion 75w speakers
2 16 input jacks
its a very light weight and compact cab perfect fot gigging but it a little small for my jcm 2000 and h&k switchblade head.
the handles at the side are made of plastic but seem strong enough.
bit of a let down with the width!

Sound Quality : 7
ok here it goes if you play hard rock and metal dont even bother with this amp.it diesnt hadle distorted sounds very well at all!and ive played it with various heads.if you want a crystal clean sound this heres where this baby excells i can get some of the best cleans ive ever heard.so if your into funk, jazz.country or eeven maybe lightly overdriven blues i would consider this amp i hard take my hughes n kettner off the clean channel.its not very versitile so i will mark it down a little but its one of the best clean sounding cabd you can get.

Reliability : 10
seems pretty strudy ive had not trouble with it at all.

my one sounds great, so typical marshall sounding. i have a 2004 lp standard and an old kiwi made valve amp called a holden wasp. mabey the people giving this cab a bad rap should question the amps and guitars they are using, or even their own ability. apart from having plastic handles , which inevitably split around the screws, there is nothing i would change . just crank your amp and rock n roll, and if you still sound bad, take up golf instead.

Reliability : 9
pretty well built, industry standard celestions, cant see many problems happening in the future. i would prefer steel flanged handles.

ive been playing rock guitar for 20 years , heard allsorts of combos and this little cab rates right up there, the fact that it is portable is just a bonus.

2x12 open back 16 ohm cab. I replaced the jack with a marshall 16/4 2-8 stereo jack. There's nothing really not to like about this cab.
It's small, fairly light, built like a tank out of plywood with no buzzes or rattles and it has heavy duty handles.

Sound Quality : 10
I've been through a lot of cabs and this is the one I kept. I play an 18 watt tmb clone and a JTM45 clone head through this cab and they both sound great.
I read the other reviews....no bass....too much bass...and I think it's just right. It's certainly not lacking in bass. This cab will rattle everything within 50 meters
with a jtm45. I think it combines the best of both open and closed back worlds, It has some focus but also fills a medium sized room full of sound. I know it's
supposed to be an extension cab but it works perfect as a primary cab for an 18 watt to 50 watt head. It says it can handle over 100 watts but I've never
tried that. Anyway, everything's subjective but compared to a lot of other cabs I've had or heard, this is the one I kept. It's totally underrated.....maybe
the best cab ever made as far as I'm concerned in terms of portability and delivering the right marshall sound....plenty of bass, plenty of top end, thick mids and
3 dimensional. Perfect.

Reliability : 10
It's built like a tank.

The sound is very depending of what you put in front of it, another combo, a head, pickups, pedals etc. It is a very small cabinet. I opened the back a little , and the speakers got some more to "work with". I use two 1922's in a stereo setup with a JMP-1, and a 9200 Dual monoblock.

MOstly for this set up I use a Gibson Les Paul , with Burstbucker II pickups, i Also ose a Epiphone ES335 with Gibson pickups (classic 57') the bottom end is better with humbuckers than with singelcoiled guitars (i also use a strat on this)

You have to tweak a little on the JMP-1 eq to get it right, and the 9200 power amp must have the prescense set to 0

I had a 8008 solidstate power amp before, but it didnt sound too good, so I went for the tube-o-saurus (37 kg)

I used a PODxt as preamp, and there was more bottom end than the JMP-1 for some stuff. A major improvement was when i made the "ports" behind the magnets - 110mm car-stereo bass ports, was fitted and placed about 30-40 cm from a wall , the bottom end improved a lot.

BUT; if you put this cab on a table, or on a beercase the sound is not so good, it should be placed on the floor

ANd don't think that you get fat bottom end with a cheap singlecoiled guitar, in anything....

Overall - the sound is good

Reliability : 10
Very soild built..... if hit by a truck, it would breake, normal use, it will last a while.

I own a lot of gear, Marshall amps/preamp - a Roland Cube 60 for rehearsal use, Gibson , Fender , Epiphone guitars, etc. I played for 25 years in Rock, blues bands. If it was stolen i would buy anoterh one (or both)

I like the weight and portability, and the stereo option. I didnt like the sound until i got it tewaked right, but i would like to try some greembacks in them though.

I have compared these with a Behringer BG412S cab i used, but it was to heavy to carry around, so until i do something else the 1922's have to be there.

It has what it suppose to have - thats it,

Try to make the bass ports if you miss some bottom end, drill 110 mm holes in the backplate, at the centre of each magnet, put a bass port" (like the one you use when you create a subwoofer) and cut it ca 30mm from the back of the magnet. Then experiement with some cloth or spongy material to see if you get the sound you like. It worked fine for me. You can also put some spongy or fabric inside to dampen the sound some. you get more bottom.

If you open a cube 60W you will find about the same stuff i think....

Marshall 1922 cab(Not For Long)

This is such a bad cab. No focus, No good bass response (flabby at best). But most predominantly is how thin and harsh it sounds. Probably one of the worst cabs ever built. I used to think it was decent.... Until i heard a recto 2x12. Then i thought it was absolute crap. Plus forget about recording with it.... Thinnest most indistinct sound.

The quality sucks, still... I would probably never be able to damage it(Unfortunatly)

A cab's a cab. This cab suits the different styles I play. I match it up with my Traynor 40 Watt combo and my Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. Both sound really good through it.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a 1993 Gibson Les Paul Studio, through my dual rectifier mainly, with a variety of effects when needed. I play a few different styles - punk rock (pennywise, strung out, bodyjar styles), rock (foo fighters), funk rock (RHCP) & also church music (clean & dirty styles)

I originally bought it for rehearsals cause I got sick of carrying round my quad box. But now I use it all the time. I has the best tone ever. I don't know what the others here are saying when they say there is no bottom end. It has enough and it cuts through and stands out in the band. I can play distorted open chords and it sounds very smooth.

The cab sounds great both clean & dirty. And really packs a punch dirty. All my mates, band mates & band fans loved my old sound with my quad box but they say this new little cab rips over it!! I agree too.

Been playing 12 years now, been gigging for at least 7 of those.
I would probably by the 1936 cause it would fit my mesa boogie head on it better. I love it cause it's so light, fits in the boot and suits heavy & soft music.
Just wish it fitted my head on it better. That is all. That's why it scored 9 not 10 overall

I bought this cab new in 2002.. Being a smaller cab that the 1936, it doesn't have as much bottom end as the 1936 cab's (our lead guit player has one!!) but is still very good.
Features are standard to all Marshall cabs now with the mono or stereo inputs. This cab runs at 8 ohms which suits my 1987x head.
The main feature I bought this cabinet for, was it was the same width dimensions as my Marshall 1987x 50w re-issue head. The feet on the 1987x doesn't line up with the top markers on the cabinet.. But it's left no marks on the vinyl & the cab markers hold the Amp from sliding off anyway.

Sound Quality : 9
I loaded it at a later date with Vintage 30 celestion's. I tried the standard speakers for a 6months or so, the Vintage 30's hear to me (especially in ear monitor's) brighter & more sparkle to them. The original speakers were cool but these are better.
The cab doesn't have a lot of bottom end to it, but we mic these cabs up & any sound changes can be made through the main desk. The small cab rocks!!
I get no cab speaker distortion or rattles, speaker will suit all varieties.. I was annoyed I missed out a second hand cabinet, so I can run stereo.

Reliability : 10
Super dependable, our cabs are cased for the truck never had a breakdown.

Customer Support : 9
Ordered the cab, later ordered the new V30's. Pretty standard stuff, had no prob's with dealers, quotes. They come with the standard 12 month's warranty

Overall Rating : 9
I've been gigging now for around 20 years, Have a 2000 honey burst Les Paul Standard with the Grover tuners & I replaced the standard pickups with the SG standard pickup's 498R & 490T no chrome covers (just black), That's my main guit & I also play a 1999 Gibson SG special & 1989 Fender Strat Plus.. My pedals are a TS9 Ibanez tube screamer, a Boss Floor tuner, 2 x Marshall pedals Guvnor & Vibratrem & a vintage Boss Flanger.
All seem to work well with the gigging we do.
No hates, I would buy again, maybe even two, I love it cause it can rock..
The 1936 seems to be comparable it's slightly wider & deeper it would suit the bigger sized amp heads, say the 1959SLP through to whatever. I always do research on a new buy, get all your facts & work out what you need..
