Well, I must have gotten a special one, most of the people on here didn't like the sound of this guy, but I must say I really like it.
I run a Marshall JCM 900 Slx through it and use a LTD EC 400 and a Gibson SG Jr. and I really like the sound. Its good for metal and rock, which are primarily what i play. Doesn't sound thin or buzzy. A bit bassy at times, but that can be delt with..

Never delt with them.. i think they make reliable products so people don't have to deal with them in the first place... i wish more manufacturers did that! :)

I dunno, I wanted another cab that wasn't 100lbs and i could fit in the back seat of my car, which my 1960a doesn't exactly excell at. I'm very happy with it and if it were stolen I'd prolly end up buying a 1936 just cause you don't see many 1922's. but if i did, i'd get it.

This review is for a copy of the marshall 1922 cabinet. I built it to spec after completing a marshall 1936 cabinet and having wood left over.

I really dislike this cabinet. I orginally built it as a smaller alternative to the marshall 1936. The cabinet is too small. I have tried alot of speaker combinations in this cab and here are the rankings:
1. 2 celestion G12H30's
2. 2 celestion G12T-75's (this is the stock configuration)
3. 1 celestion G12T-75 and 1 celestion vintage 30
4. 2 celestion vintage 30's
This cab is very direct sounding. It is very beamy and in your face if you are in front of it. In the stereo world we would say it has very poor imaging. Also since the cab is so thin, the bass response sucks. I have tried this cab with a laney Vh100R, mesa mark IV, marshall 2553 silver jubilee, sovtek mig 60, vox valvetronix AD60VTH. So far the cab has let me down most of the time. It does sound considerably better with the G12H30's than the rest of the speakers I tried though. I would sell this cab, but since I built it I can't get much for it.

Overall I would avoid this cab at all costs. It was designed as an extension cab for a combo. Most heads do not fit well on it and it sounds pretty bad. The lack of sound depth is horrible. I would steer clear and get a marshall 1936. I love the marshall 1936 which has 2 celestion classic lead 80's in it now (Not stock, but a great fit)

It's a cab, so I wouldn't expect it to have funny features.
It has two cones, two inputs, it can be run either in mono o stereo.
It has handles on both sides, it is light.
What more would you expect from a cab?

Thin, harsh, unfocused.
Possibly, the worst cab ever.

After years of gigs and studio work , this cab proves that 2-12 cabs can deserve a front row spot to bring in the tone and the power . Two on stage (not stacked ) will always cover the dynamics I need and keep the guitar sound prominant and tasty . Powered w/ Marshalls' EL 34 50/50 , and the JMP-1 , anything's possible !

My cab is a 1998 model and is in a fetching white vinyl.. Ive never seen another like it before.. Its just a standard 2X12 cab loaded with celestion speakers but its handled everything ive thrown at it with both my Marshall 100w DFX head and the older 100w G100RCD... Gonna put an AVT50 head through it next.

I play very heavy rock, down tuned to D alot and the cab hold everything together... no annoying rattles or anything.. The speakers cope well in both clean and distorted modes on the head.. couldnt ask for more

ive been playing for 12 years and have owned loads of other marshall amps, aswell as a fender devill hotrod and a twin drive.. The 1922 is ideal cos it fits in the boot of a car and is light enough to carry one handed.. Ive used my Epiphone les paul, sheraton, and lucille aswell as fender teles and strats through it and all the different tones have been defined. I always use a vintage marshall bluesbreaker but this is to aid the head, not the cab.

Compact 2x12" the same size as Marshall's 2x12" combos. Celestion G12T-75 speakers. Either 8 ohms mono or 16 ohm per channel stereo. Smaller heads like the JTM 45 and Mesa/Boogie Rectifiers etc. will fit on top of it, but not full-size Marshall heads. Has holes on top of it to fit a Marshall combo's legs, but if you have some other gear you may want to place on top of it, the holes may be in the way as the don't line up with that other equipment's legs. Sadly this cab is now out of production, but there are a lot of them around in the secondhand market.

I play all sorts of rock, and this cab has been with me for almost ten years. It replaced a pair of 1965 A & B cabs (4x10"), which always broke up far too early for my liking and were muddy-sounding. This little cab actually sounded bigger and more open than the 4x10" pair, and stayed clean almost regardlesss of volume. A great trade-in. Have since used it as the sole cab in a rack system and as a compliment to my Twin.
While I'm not too crazy about the G12T-75s in a closed-back cab, where they sound a bit too "scooped", the cab holds up well. You can always dial in more mids to compensate, and the bass and treble response is really great. The cab really shines as a complement to a open-back combo like the Twin, it gives added low end punch and openness in the highs. The only drawback is that it's slightly smaller than a Twin and the holes for Marshall combos don't line up with the Twin's legs, so I'm not really confident when stacking the Twin on top of it. Side by side it works a treat, though.

When I bought it, had a slight buzz. It turned out it was caused by a loose thread in the front clothing vibrating against the cone. I simply cut it off, and it has never developed any problem since. It has been gigged quite a lot, and both the speakers, the wood and the tolex have withstood the test of time. Honestly, I have never ever seen a Marshall cab break. Have you?

Great cab that sounds much bigger than its size should imply, but make shure your amp fits on top of it. I recently bought a 1936 to have something to safely stack my Twin on top of, but in terms of sound the 1922 holds its own. Won't get rid of it anytime soon.

I'm using a 1987x marshall head and a les paul standard I also use a highway one fender telecaster. I play lots of classic rock and blues styles, and I love my 87x head but the cabinet isn't working. It tends to buzz and rattle at high volumes and it really isn't built to well. I think marshall screwed up makeing a 2x12 like this I don't really like the way it sounds. I'll probably sell it and buy a 1960TV 4x12 cab.

I play hard rock in the style of Mr. Big and prog metal in the style of Dream Theater. Play some blues every once in a while. I own a TriAxis, G-Major, Mesa 20-20. My guitars are Peavey EVH WOlfgang, Ibanez S540. This cab sucks big time. It sounds (what a big word) buzzy, muddy and out of focus. That's not a matter of quantity of speakers, I now own a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab which is actually what I would call a cab. I have to disagree with the guy who wrote that 4x12 is better than 2x12, in fact my 2x12 Mesa cab is way better than most 4x12s out these. One day he will start playing guitar seriously and he will notice the difference between *good* and *bad* cabs.
This is probably the worse cab out there.

This thing sounds really nice for my rock/pop style. Lots of bass, maybe almost too much, mids seem clear and pronounced, highs are a little bit 'percing' but not bad. I am using this with a Sovtek MIG 50, which seems a very nice combination. Once you get a EQ set up nicely, this sounds great.
