2002, 1936 model #, 2x12 with Celestion 75's same as listed

Sound Quality : 10
Guitars are Carvin stock DC127 with double humbuckers C22's and ability to split to singles, Alder wood, Fender Strat Plus modified with Kinman Pickups, Deluxe "hand rolled" edge maple neck, with a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50 stock tubes (so far), and John Nau "Spoonful Overdrive Unit" (true bypass, Fulltone Clyde Wah (true bypass) I use it with both guitars for Blues, Blues rock, Hard Rock, Metal. Speakers are not broken in yet...neither is the Marshall head. Just got it 24 hrs. ago. Speakers sound tight and focused, each guitar sounded like it should. It is like a 3/4 cab. Very huge sounding with the "deep" switch on. It sound amazing with this head. The deep switch makes it sound Phenomenallike a FULL 1/2 stack. Looks impressive with a full size head on top of it. I chose it because I don't want to lug a 1/2 stack in my car and lifting one sucks. The speakers aren't Greenbacks or Vintage 30's but I am impressed with the sustain, bass response, clarity and size of this cab. Breaths better than a smaller cab. I love the handles on the sides. Once the speakers break in it should smooth out.

Reliability : 9
Looks like a quality cab. I didn't pull it apart to see the wood but it has corner guards on it and the grill material is super tight.

Overall Rating : 10
10 yrs playing bass with alot of gear and 4.5 yrs and have had a truck load of equipment. I really don't want to list all of it here it would look like I'm an "amp-aholic". Trying to find a suitable Blues - Rock amp not a combo not a 1/2 stack took alittle while from switching thru Fender stuff vintage and Cyber, Carvin heads and combos, Mesa Rect, and finally now that my style incorporates both Blues and Rock - Metal. This set up lets me pull this off. Blues open Jams don't want 1/2 stacks and Rock clubs with louder drummers needs alittle more of a "Harley" sound with a 1/2 stack. I finally shot away all Catalogs and must have read all reviews on here tossing out the worst 3 and best 3. Not the Be All End All Amp but meets my needs and that's what counts. ...Atleast for today lol lol

1936 lead marshall 2X12 guitar speaker. recent 2000-? model. good all around speaker for many styles. two twelve-inch speakers, 150 watts at 8 ohms mono, or separate divisions in the wiring for 16 ohms stereo. can accept two inputs from a stereo amp (ea. side) or one input from a 16 or 8 ohms head, but not suitable for running series FROM this speaker (can accept it though from another cabinet, 16 ohms).

Sound Quality : 5
wailed on this thing with an orange twin-channel head and a '72-reissue tele. high output, lot of treble and midrange signals. fairly noisy, but the low range lacks ASS!

Reliability : 5
this is an amp suitable for live/loud performance, the particle board gives you that modern metal 'bark' if you want it. suite! but again, not as much bass to really make it 'woof'.

Customer Support : 5
impossible to get anywhere with marshall. they need a specs page on older shit esp.

Overall Rating : 3
been playing awhile, many speakers trying to get a good mix with THE ORANGE... mind you there is NOTHING wrong with the head, it rules. if i hadn't sold this back to get a mesa boogie 2X12 vertical recto cab, i would have blown up this cab or run over it with a car for fun. the 1936 lead is a PIECE OF SHIT. i can't even get my many pedals to bring out the low end. yeah, then i bought the mesa, and guess what... success!!!

jcm 900 lead 1936.The large version of the 2x12, fits the full size amp tops. 150w, stereo.

Sound Quality : 9
I use the 1936 with a '76 50w marshall super bass amp. Since there is no loop, I mainly use overdrive pedals in front and maybe a wah. For guitars I use Fender Stratocaster or Gibson SG 61' reissue.
The amp and cabinet are better for lead sounds than clean, for that I use a Fender.. It is possible to get good Gary Moore sounds with the Gibson and a marshall bluesbreaker. The cab responds similar to the full 4x12". Clean sounds get dull easily, but you can't expect both. The speakers don't drive that much with the 50w top, so I might replace them with lower wattage speakers like maybe greenbacks.

Reliability : 10
I have no idea of how old this cabinet is, but it looks like shit!
I could push it down the stairs to improove the looks, but then again, I am not the first owner and I guess that it is a high quality cabinet that has just been through purgatory a few times with its previous owner.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I wouldn't know. I usually fix the stuff myself.

Overall Rating : 10
It was cheap and I am happy to finally play loud marshall leads.
I've always used fenders but it's nice to run both!

this cab is from the sixties or so I was told, its been stripped to bare wood, very thick ply, and has a basket weave grill - the speakers are either 30s or 75s, not too sure, haven't had the back off in a while - features? well what do you want? its a box with two speakers in it

Sound Quality : 1
i use single coils, strats, teles, juniors, that sort of thing, the cab basically turns everything into a warm nuzzling tone that sound engineers praise no matter how loud it is - the sixties vox ac50 that i currently use is supposed to be clean but it sounds nice and growly through this cab, actually maybe something's wrong there...

Reliability : 10
yeah its solid, i like to sit on it and feel the musical vibrations mmm...

jim marshall signed his name for me on a poster at a trade show about ten years ago otherwise no contact with marshall

been playing a while, over ten years, less than twenty - had many many amps, too many, too many regrets, bad deals, lost money, missed opportunites, neck ache, back ache, finger ache, but the cab looks nice

This is a 2x12" cabinet, it's got 75 watt celestions in it. Big enough to fit a full size head on top. 8 ohms.

Sound Quality : 10
OK, I'm using a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100 head with the cab. I use a stock tele, an ESP LTD mh-301, and a strat with hot rails. I originally had a fender 1x12", but it got blown out. This cab can handle the power of this head, though i haven't ran it full throttle yet, i'm living in Air Force barracks so as you can imagine, i don't want to get arrested. But anyway, the sound is very punchy and solid, I get great controlled feedback, and it sounds great on tape too.

Reliability : 10
This is a high quality cabinet, it's got good handles on the sides, very sturdy.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
There's not much to say about it other than, it will hold up for a long time. i recommend this if you want it loud but don't have enough room for a 4x12". that's about all i gots to say

Just your standard 2x12 speaker cabinet with 2 Celestions. 2 input jacks for different ohm ratings or stereo/mono.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this cabinet as an extension cab for my JCM900 4502 combo. The combination of the open-backed amp and the closed-backed cabinet provide the perfect mix of volume and presence. You get the high-mid sounds through the amp and the beefy mids and lows through the cabinet.

Reliability : 10
Seems pretty reliable; "built like a tank".

Haven't dealt with Marshall yet

Overall Rating : 9
I thought my amp alone provided great tone, that is until I got this cab to go with it! This is the perfect companion to any Marshall head or combo.

Ease of Use : 10
Not much to using this puppy, it's a 2x12 speaker cabinet. It does have the option of running stereo or mono, with different ohm options, and it has mounts on the bottom for optional casters. I think it's perfect for people who don't want to lug a 4x12 around.

Sound Quality : 10
Right now, I use this cabinet with a Line 6 Flextone II head, and it sounds great. I would say it sounds about 75-80% like a Marshall 4x12. It's bigger than most 2x12 cabs which adds to the bass response and resonance. It comes with the celestion 75-watt speakers and the same Marshall materials and build quality as it's older brothers.

Reliability : 10
I've purchased Marshall 4x12 cabinets (used) in the past and they hold up extremely well. Because of their build quality, you can literally knock them around for years without a problem. Speaker cabs are simply wired, so I don't anticipate ever having a problem.

Customer Support : 9
I've contacted KORG (who distributes Marshall), and have gotten hold of people fairly easy who have helped me.

Overall Rating : 10
Basically, this is the perfect cabinet for people who want that big Marshall 4x12 sound, but don't have the money or can't fit a 4x12 in their car, or simply don't want to lug a big cabinet around! It has optional wheels, which is a big plus, sounds terrific, and has 30+ years of rock & roll treatment to back up it's reliability.

I believe this was made in 1997. I use it with a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 100 and a Peavey 5150.

Its a standard run of the mill 2x12 cab. Take it or leave it. I find it ideal for rehearsal and small venues. Be aware though not to push it hard with the amp as you can damage it. No opinion - ITS A CAB!

Sound Quality : 10
I use metal guitars with hot pickups. I have a number of BC Richs, Ibanez, ESP and Jacksons. The Marshall head gelled with it nicely and sounded very good. Marshall distortion is pure tube brutality and the cab transmits the very nicely. Obviously, a 4x12 would transmit this in an entirely different manner, but you wouldnt exactly use that in a house!

The Peavey wasnt really happy with it. The distortion came through satisfactorily, but was much better off with its own 4x12. I dont use the peavey at home because its just plain too loud. The Marshall set up is also a very good practise tool.

This amp delivers when I want it to, so I give it top marks.

Reliability : 9
This cab hasnt died yet. Cabs die for two resons:
1) They are just plain old and the cones are just dead
2) They are hooked up wrong or pushed way too hard, either through ignorance or other.

I have had a 4x12 cabinet die on me at 6 months old. It belonged to the Peavey and died right in the middle of the gig. That was bad, but I eventually found that I left the guitar feed back alot for the previous few gigs and the cab was pushed a hell of a lot. I have only one on it again, but i intend to get another for it.

Your amps are part of your sound. You must look after them PROPERLY, or they will give you jip. Not even Jim Marshall can help!

I will say that I am suprised how easy it is to rip the black tolex covering, though. It puts up with a lot less abuse than the peaveys. The Marshall 4x12 suffers in the same way.

Because of that small thing, one mark off!

Customer Support : 10
I dealt with Marshall technical services before and they're very good, which says a lot seeing as im in the uk!

No problem whatsoever.

Overall Rating : 9
Im happy with the 2x12. I have been playing for 11 years and owned this n that amp, but i got my buddies now and the 2x12 really allows me to get a cool sound at reasonable volumes. I think it should come with castors fitted, tho! I was soak for #50 for them! Really bad! I didnt compare it to anything. I had a marshall head, ergo, get a marshall cab. Nuff said. If it was stolen, i would buy another. Get a 9 cuz of the cost of castors!

This is an update to my review below. Just as I suspected, the reason the cabinet I owned before sounded so bad was due to the particle board construction. I recently purchased an older JCM-800 1936 cabinet, and it sounds great. It is still no 4-12, but it sounds 100 times better than the cheap ass JCM-900 2-12 particle board cab I had before.

Warning!! Don't buy a late model 1936 cab. They are made of 100% particle board and sound like shit.
