Not sure what year this was made. Stereo switchable (8 Ohms each side) or Mono (16 or 4 Ohms I use 4). It's a 4X12 speaker cab what do you expect. Got this second hand from my local guitar shop for #220 (got #100 Trade In on my old Laney cab)

Nice rounded tone much better than my old Laney TF412A cab gives my AVT 150H a full sound.

basically the shop said if I wasn't happy with it take it back and they'd give me a refund and my old cab back so you can't say fairer than that really.

MIM Fat Strat-Pearly Gates & Lace Hot Gold Sensors, 74' SG-Gibson 57' PAF's, JT-135 W/Gibson 57' PAF's. This cabinet ROCKS for anything from overdriven blues to death metal and all points inbetween. I play it all. I dont know how well it does the clean stuff as I run an A/B between the JCM900 & Marshall cab & use a Fender HRD for the clean stuff.

It seems to be well put together and I would have no qualms about using it for gigs w/o a backup.

Never had to deal with Marshall directly, ever.

Been playing off and on for 18 years. Never been much of a half-stack kinda of guy, mostly combo's in one form or another until now. Kinda makes me wonder what rock I have been hiding under for all these years.
If it were stolen I would find him, her, it and punish with extreme prejudice!
It's a Marshall, it sounds like a Marshall, nothing like it.
I hate that they starting using chipboard for the back covers.

Wonderful to be able to switch from mono to stereo with the flick of a (GASP....EASY-TO-READ) switch, as well as clearly marked ohmage on each jack. I'd give it a higher mark, but what else can you really do with a 4x12 cabinet in terms of features? Motorize the wheels?

I play hard rock with a pop flavor (think Thin Lizzy, UFO, pre-Hysteria Leppard, pre-Vandenberg Whitesnake), and so I'm looking for the super-thick but not too distorted tone of early 80's British hard rock (which to me, was the warmest distortion ever). My head is a hot-rodded Laney that gives me fabulous vintage distortion, and I needed a cab that would do the signal justice. After playing out of a Sonic for a decade, I finally made the switch to the 1960AV (edging out slightly over the 1960AX because I wanted the warmth of the old greenbacks but the power of a modern 70W). The difference was unreal. I finally have that Schenker/Clark/Angus tone that no one seems to be able to reproduce in modern rock! The amp takes what is essentially a low-gain, high-output signal and keeps it round and boomy. Haven't tried it for anything else, but why would I want to?

It's a new purchase, so it's too early to tell. But in driving the speakers very hard right out of the gate, they broke in beautifully.

No direct contact w/Marshall yet. Did all my research on their website, though, and that was plenty informative.

I wish I could speak to some of the other aspects I could only rate after a long time, but I can honestly say it was EXACTLY what I was looking for and has performed perfectly to my expectations. If you're looking for the tone I've described above, this is a step in the right direction. If you want a massive fuzzed-out distortion attack ala Slayer or Pantera, or you want the smoothness of a Strat ala Clapton or the Crowes, try something else.

Great crisp high end distorsion great for almost anything dirty, not as much bass or low end distorsion as other cabinents but does the job for a nice burning lead, nice clean sound and good bass, awesome at high volumes, distorsion for everything is brutal

Awesome sound, its a really nice cab, not too heavy--enough for one person to handle, has awesome projection and sound, too bad it dosent have the low end crunch and bass of the standard cab but hey were talking the cab not the speakers

Bought it new; they just raised their list prices -- ouch! this cab's features are like ... a cabinet. it makes sound. what else can you do with it? although the casters are kind of flimsy -- big deal.

guitar is a carvin dc127 with active pickups. amp is mesa dual rectifier rackmount. other equipment -- dbx 266XL comp/gate. the best seet-up ever for fast punk/metal. the speakers are celestion vintage 30's, which are the only speakers that go loud enough, in my opinion. everything else sucks. i compared it to a mesa recto 4x12 cab, but the rectifier sounded too bassy through the mesa cab -- this one tones down the bass and gives a great even sound. gets kill-your-parents loud, which is perfect.

it's a marshall, so the tolex scratches, the grillcloth is kinda cheesy, and the wheels suck -- but the speakers are celestion, and the sound is awesome, so who cares?

marshall got back to me within a few days by email about a question i had -- not bad for an international company.

i'm going to keep it until i die, it gets stolen, or my hands fall off from playing guitar too much. i've played for 8 years, and this is the first set of speakers i've really fallen in love with... and it's not as friggin' heavy as the mesa! i'd buy it again if it were stolen (and if i had the money -- ouch!)

Recent vintage, I believe, but hard to find info on this oddball. Label says 1960 Vintage. The speakers in it are G12T-75 "Vintage", which I was told are different than the G12T in the 1960A, of which this looks just like. They DO seem to break up more smoothly. Has the switch for for 4 or 16 ohm, or two 8 ohm split, which is handy. EXTREMELY loud.

Strat, Tele's, Les Paul Special--and they all sound good through this thing. I have run BF Bassman, BF Bandmaster, Univox U1011, and Marshall JCM800 2203 into it. All sound killer. I even ran a Blues Jr. through it, and IT screamed. Good for, actually, quite a few things. Gets total heavy metal/rock tone, but with a Fender, still can coax some blues out of it.

Playing 20 years, have numerous other cabs...Fender, Univox, Traynor, Cordovox. I DON'T like moving it, although I can handle it myself. Gives overall good sound.
