4x10, 8 ohm,Celestion 35w (140 total), closed back, handles are plastic, but durable. Don't have a features rating, it's moot on a cab, unless it's got a cappucino maker attached.
Bought this used from a guitarist for a major rock band in the 70s and 80s, so it has a lot of miles, but it's never been abused. Road cases all the time. Used around the world, mic'ed backstage. It's a prolatarian cab that doesn't weigh a ton, and has a really good sound.

Excellent. I have two slant cabs and one straight. I pair the slant with a straight for a small stack, coupled with my Carvin MST3200. I have a great tight, midrangey sound that goes well With the Warmoth custom Strat, and Tele copies, or the Les Paul Deluxe (1972) I play with it. I've never been happier with my sound. I play mostly Classic Rock through this rig, so I'm thrilled with the characteristic Marshall "growl" I get from this. It's not so overwhelmingly loud that you feel you can't use it on a small gig. I don't play without both cabs anymore. I don't usually give a "10", but this deserves it!

It's a cab, if it's unreliable, then it's a cheap Behringer cab, and the cones would easily break. It's not though, so I expect this to sound awesome for years to come. No rating, again it's moot!

Great Cabs! If lost or stolen, I'd have to go and do a search for the person who has it, since I have the serial numbers of everything I own stored and safe. Then I'd have the local constabulary arrest him, and flog him before, and release him to my tender mercies. Then I'd turn him over to the neighbor's Pit Bull/Rottweiler mutts. They don't get fed enough! Then I'd look for another one, with tears welling in my eyes, after looking at the prices of these collectors' items.

Probably made in the 1980's, which makes it close to twenty years old now. It's a smaller size cab than a stock 1960A 4x12, probably about 2/3 the size, and a LOT lighter. I love the fact I pick this cab up unaided and carry it around with ease, plus it fits in my car a lot better.
The cab has 4x10" speakers, 35w Celestions and is set for 8ohms only, so I've had to make sure I switch the impednance of my amps a I am used to running my other cabs at 16ohms. No big deal though.
It's a speaker cab, not heavily loaded with features. People complain the plastic handles aren't great but they're still in perfect condition considering this cab is about two decades old. No castors, but you don't actually need them due to the weight and size difference between this and a 4x12.
I'd say the biggest feature about this amp is the compact size and the extremely impressive tone for that size.

I bought this from a friend after being sick of lugging around a 4x12 for ages. I run a Rivera Knucklehead K-100 head (one of the best vintage/modern sounding amps I have ever played, and arguably, the best tone I've ever had - if you don't know them, it's like having a Twin Reverb that's switchable between Tweed & Blackface on one channel and a JCM800 with footswitchable gain boost on the other) and a Marshall DSL 100 (also a good amp if you prefer a more basic raw sound), plus a few effects (Boss Tuner, wah, delay, phaser, chorus, Hotcake overdrive) into one of my four guitars - Gibson 61 Reissue SG or 76 Reissue Explorer / Fender 69 Reissue Thinline Telecaster or 62 Reissue Japanese Jazzmaster.
I play in an indie rock band, which I'd equate to sounding somewhere between No Doubt, Bloc Party, The Strokes, Kings of Leon but we have a semi-comparable sound to girl fronted bands like Paramore and Letters to Cleo due to our female singer. I tend to play with more gain and effects that the other guitarist, who has a more traditional sound - ES-335 or Strat into a Fender DeVille.
My Rivera sounds best with this cab, and because the Knucklehead is smaller than the Marshall head, it fits on top of the cab pefectly, giving me a smaller stack that is just at gutsy. The low end and midrange on this cab is amazing and the highs are very tame, not at all what was expecting. Ten-inch speakers are a different kettle of fish to twelves. More punchy, smooth, less low end mud. I might never used 12's again at this rate.
The cab sounds very full for clean sounds and super punchy for dirty ones. As the total rating for the cab is like 140w, it breaks up a bit better with gain but still manages to get a sweet clarity on cleaner tones. Very versatile and I get a lot of comments since using on it on how much I cut through in the band.

I may have to replace the speakers eventually as I use it so much! My 2x12 TSL cab has been sitting redundant for a while and my 1960AV quad hasn't left my house in about a year....

These are a great alternative to full size quads without any compromise in tone. If you can pick one up cheap, you'll never want to play a quad again unless someone else is moving it for you.
I'd say the only improvement would be to have metal handles over plastic, but it would probably increase the weight ratio somewhat.

I'm running a Carvin Nomad in to the Marshall cab . The Carvin is about 35 watts or so . The guitar's I have are a tele nashvill , Epiphone 335 with Seth lovers and a schecter Banshee thats like a strat with a lipstick neck pickup and a humbucker in the bridge.I split my signal with volume pedal to the carvin with the marshall cab and the other to a Fender Super Reverb RI it also has 4x10's. I run the carvin on the dirty channel and set the super reverb to break up.I control the super reverb with guitar volume and the carvin/marshall with the volume pedal to blend the two amps . The Marshall cab is quiet compared to the fender . It sounds great clean or with preamp distortion as well with natural power tube distortion when the clean channel is crank . If you opean the back up it sounds more like a fender cab. This marshall cab is working great for me no need for other distortion pedals.Just the volume pedal, guitar and the Carvin with the Marshall cab and Super Reverb for 8-10's cutting through the mix.I have not wired Marshall to 2 ohms to connect it up to the super reverb yet maybe some day.

I come from germany, so please ignore my suck grammar!
i bought this cab 2006(used) and played it with an Pod + amplifier.
the sound was more a compromise then a satisfaction. yesterday i played this cab with an ordinary behringer amp... the sound was amazing!!!
this cab create a very harmonical sound: the middes come very cordial and the bass accurately defined.
The best cap ever!!!

Could have stereo switching which would also be nice when running 2 amps through it so I give it an 8...

Excellent tones coming from this thing considering it was built sometime in the 80s and has been through quite some action. Nice and punchy. However I had trouble finding a nice sparkly setting from my Fender 65' Deluxe Reverb RI - but more about that later on.
Next amp I tried it with was a Epiphone Valve Junior and I was blown away. Excellent vintage tones from an amp of that size. This cabinet sure does bring out the tones - don't be fooled by its size...
Last amp I tried was a Marshall JCM 900 (it's not mine) which sounds very beefy. Nice tight end as expected from the 10s. I' m not into marshall stuff n I have no idea how it compares to a 4x12 - check the other reviews bout' that...
So here's the deal. I bought the thing for my Deluxe Reverb. Converted the Deluxe combo into a tweed top (which looks excellent) - this was mainly for reasons of WEIGHT. I hate lugging heavy stuff around and when moving between gigs, rehearsal and studio you get pissed when stuff is heavy. So I wasn't looking for a sound improvement in the first place...
When I first hooked it up when I was alone I was quite comfortable with the sound - definitely moves way more air than the single 12 of the Fender combo. But no matter how I set my amp I couldn't get those sparkly fender tones out of it. I just had no idea of how much of the 'marshall' tone had to do with their cabinet construction!
But instead of putting it back on ebay I opened up the rear cover today and - voila! There's the sound I was looking for - much more like a Fender Bassman! I continued playin while a band mate opened and closed the cab for comparisson. With the back on much more sound is projected toward the front while removing the back opens up to a real nice room filling sound.
Conclusion - gona build some rear panel and keep it for open back operation - with it's small size and weight it's definitely a keeper...
With back closed: 6
For my purpose with open back: 9

I play a Heritage 535 (ES335 type) made in Kalamanzoo on the original machines the Gibsons of the 50s were built on (so cut me the crap about Gibson). Heritage pickups capable of coil tapping and a sh*tload of other gimmicks. Second axe is a Fender Baja Classic Player Tele with custom shop pickups (also with cool S1 switching options).
Either straight into the amp or sometimes with a tad of volume boost provided by a RAT. Very basic stuff...
Even though I like the sound after modification if it were lost or stolen I'd look for an open back cab in the first place...

Just one word! Awesome!
I use this baby with a Koch KV50 (other than reviewed by someone else i am crazy about the sound!) and some effects.
my rig is as followed:
Guitar -> A/B switch ->
A -> EHX small clone -> Ibanez Flanger -> Koch KV50 pre- and poweramp
B -> Rocktron Gainiac-> Koch KV-50 Poweramp
Offcourse both circuits end in the 1965A.
I play mainly Nu-metal, but i like the little brighter sound from a 4x10". I tried the Koch KV50 through a 4x12" when i bought it, but i think it sounds MUCH better through my 4x10"!!

I am in love with the sound. Very even response. Not too bassy, or mid-heavy. The highs are nice and not too overwhelming. I haven't heard these speakers don't distort or fart out. This thing adds good character to whatever amp as it stays tight, focussed, and musical. I play various styles except heavy metal.

Since i bought this I don't like to gig without this thing. I would take this over my old Marshall 4X12 1960a anyday unless for some reason I needed a lot more volume. The 4x10 sounds better for what I play plus it is smaller, lighter, and fits perfectly in my car! It is pretty hard to find 4x10 slant cab of this high quality. Marshall didn't make many of these so if you stole mine, i'm sorry, but i'll have to k___ you.

It's an 80s 1965A Cab, 4X10 Celestions, 140 Watts, blah blah blah. Nice and light, easy to move around. Plastic handles are lame, but its a solid son of a gun other than that.

This cab has it's wn unigue sound compare to most other Marshall 4X12s. Definitely not a whole lot of bass, but it's not too heavy on the high end either. It's a pretty sweet sound, maybe not the best for metal, but I use it for anything from metal to blues. It will shake my house with the help of my 3210 100W. My neighbors don't like me, but the feeling is mutual.

Real nice sound. Not too much bass, but not "chimey" either. I almost wish it were a tad wider to hold most 100 watt tube heads.
I've never owned 10's and now wonder why is 10's aren't more popular? I think I'm going to experiment more with them.

It's a Marshall, as long as they stoke them with Celestions they can't be unreliable unless you over drive the wattage by too much.

I have a thing for speaker cabs... quest for tone and all that. If I find a cab I like at a decent price I buy it and try it. If it doesn't suit my needs, I dump it. I'll be keeping this one.
I have three 4x12 cabs, one 2x12, and this guy all have Celestions. All of my amps sound better through this cab than through my 12" cabinets. Something going on there.
Since it's been discontinued a long time it's unlikely I'll find a straight face version, but I'll look.

This cab is amazing. I went to Gedde's Music in Antioch, California just checkin stuff out cuz I've never been there before. I was looking around andI saw this cab under an Ampeg head. I looked at it and realized it was a 4x10 guitar cab. I got all excited cuz that means I could get rid of my heavy ass (but nice sounding) Behringer 4x12. I looked at the price tag and it was only $200!!!
I brought my Behringer in and they traded straight across.
I took it home and plugged it into my Line 6 Flextone head, and it got the most amzing sound from it. After I sold the head I bought a Peavey Classic 50. Its a 4x10 combo, so now I'm running 8x10. The peavey sounds amazing through this cab. Wow, these speakers sound great. Nice warm vintage tone, plenty of bass, lots of cutting power. Not farty and loose like 4x12's.

I've gigged with this thing for a year straight and took it on a national tour. You can imagine what the stresses your gear goes through on tour. This cab shined every night. I loved the sound I got out of it cranked, and people where complimenting my tones and asking about it (cuz they hadnt seen such a small cab).
I bought it used and I havent switched anything out. When I bought it, I took the back off to check out the speakers. They are in pristine condition. A little dusty but whatever.
Is got a little rip here, some dust and wear there, but its a very good looking cab.

This cab is amazing. It might not be for everyone, but it suits me perfectly. Small size, light weight, good looks, amazing sound. I'll never sell it, and if it broke or got stolen, I'd be heartbroken because Marshall doesnt make these anymore and they are pretty hard to find in good condition. If you find one, and dig that warm vintage sound with a focused and tight low end with a nice mid punch, grab this if you can. If you can find one under or around $200, get it immedietly. Just do it.
