I think everybody below me covered this section quite well.
Only change I would make to this cab is a selectable impedance. It's wired for 8 but it would be nice to flick a selector switch and have it ready to go at 4 or 16 ohms as well.

Sounds great in my current setup ( Hamer Echotone 335--> De Armond Volume pedal-->Danelectro Chicken Salad Vibe (yeah, yeah, I know)--> Wirlwind AB box: A channel--> CDhandler rack rube driver-->DOD FX96 analog delay--> Boss CE-2 chorus--> 1982 Fender Pro Reverb B channel--> Ibanez SM-9 Super Metal--> Small Stone phaser--> Echo amp (Super Reverb head clone)--> Marshall 1965a)
sounds great. Nice and tight bass.

I love this thing.
It was loaded differently than stock: two celestions and two Eminence Legends. nice complimentary tones.
I would definately track down another if this thing were to be stolen.

8ohms, i got it used at guitar center for my marshall jubilee 2553 head. I don't know it doesnt sound good when right in front of it. So if i miced it it would sound like crap. Maybe the the head and cab don't match to well but i do not like the tone all that much.

Do not like the sound too much. Its really brittle, and not all that fat sounding. I'm using a Marshall Jubilee 2553 into the cab, and a Fender Strat with a Seymour Duncan JB Jr. The original matching cab was purchased before I can get it with the Jubilee. But this cab is very brittle sounding.

Although I do not really like the sound, it is used. And although it is used it looks like its really reliable. The cab is built like a rock.

Duh. It's a Cabinet. 8 Ohms. It's Got *one* hole for a speaker cable to plug into. If you can't work this thing please move out of my Neighborhood.

It Sounds like the old 4x12s with a couple of Exceptions:
1. The bass response is less flabby due to the smaller speakers.
2. There is no edge yowl.
Now, I'm not saying there is no bass response in this cab-far from it. There is a little bit less but only because the low tones don't Fart out. BTW, this is the reason Ampeg put 10" speakers in those old SVT Cabs. Everything in the low end is loud but under control. After a couple of Years playing through a 2x12 I found this to be a VERY welcome change.
Also, for those of you who don't know, Edge Yowl happens when the speaker cone itself starts vibarting very unharmoniously. To make a long explanation short, The speakers in this cabinet don't have this problem.
So, When I cranked up my amps (Marshall Super Bass & Early '70s Sunn 60W} It just kept sounding Louder & Bigger up until my amps were either distorting or at Full-tilt Boogie and it didn't matter.
Bottom line: the speakers didn't crap out in any way, shape or form And there weren't any Weird resonances coming ot of the cab. Gets a thumbs-up in My Book

I checked out the inside of the Cab and found this:
Speakers: high Quality 35-Watt Celestions Bolted snugly to the Baffle.
Wiring: Solder joints were Well done and very neat At Speaker Terminals and Jack. Wires were Not overly Tight But Not so Loose they would interfere with speaker Function.
Debris: none in the Cab.
All of this points to Classic Marshall Quality and It should last quite awhile.

Bought it Used. Warranty is not known But Probably Long gone. It Shouldn't Matter too Much. After all, this IS a Speaker Cabinet. If a Speaker Blows You Replace it.

I'm Impressed. As others have said, it's light for a speaker cab. It also fits into the trunk of My car which is a good thing.
If this got Stolen I'd save up to buy another one but they're getting harder to find. However I must add one Caveat:
Under NO Circumstances Should YOU Purchase any of these!

these cabinets are light weight but pack a serious punch, they cosmetics are very "Marshall" the only bad thing feature wise is they should be "stereo capable" otherwise they're awesome cabinets!

I use Kramer and Jackson guitars both with ultra hot pickups and a 100watt Marshall valvestate head, these cabinets are punchy and with proper eq settings have good bottom end for 10's I have played these harder than any other cabinets and they keep rockin, plus they're 10" celestions are VERY efficient making these cabinets actually louder and more efficient than they're 12" counterparts, no rattles or sound coloring. very nice.....

I would take these cab's on tour and not worry a bit, they're bullet proof I have run these with a 200watt P.A. amp as P.A. mains and not a problem, the celestions are simply the best built/sounding speaker made!

I've been playing for 21 years and this is simply the best sounding rig that I have ever heard for the price, the overall "bang for the buck" I am very happy plus a lil hint these are rare (especially all original and in good condition) to some collectors are worth MANY hundreds of dollars.....

Follow up on previous review. I fixed the screws on the back of the cabinet and damn that made a difference. The cabinet no longer craps out and no more rattling. I love this cabinet.

Great piece of gear. Only thing I would like better would be if I had a Marshall 4x12 to complement it.

4-10" celestion speakers. Runs in 8ohm mono and has a handling capacity of 140watts. Pretty basic. I wish it was wired in stereo.

I'm using a Les Paul with Duncan pickups, a Marshall tube pre-amp (9001) and the power amp from a JCM-900. I'm also running an active crossover that splits the frequencies sending the Mids and highs to the Marshall and the Lows to a 2x10 Carvin Bass cabinet. The cabinet sounds great but when the bass is turned up the sound starts to crap out. That's why I use the Carvin though. Has a very clear Mid-range and also works great with my Hot-rodded Strat. I like the "punch" this cabinet has.

Some of the screws that hold the back panel on have stripped out the thin wood this cabinet is constructed of. So therefore it rattles when it's turned up. Eventually I'll fix it by filling in the hole and re-drilling it. Also the plastic corner panels are starting to crack. Oh well, I use it on a regular basis so it's just normal wear and tear.

I bought this because I liked the sound of my dad's 1960 4x12 with my amp. This cabinet is great but the construction is better on the bigger version. I also bought it over a 4x12 valvestate because I hate the Gold back speakers. The sound too small and crappy. For a clean sound I use a Fender Pro-reverb.

Not very heavy! Only 8 ohms mono, but you can't find a 4X10 in stereo. Not much to say.. a 4X10 slant cab that you plug your amp into. Sounds good. It handles 150W and I never need more than 50, so no problem there..

Sounds great!! It sounds awesome clean, the four celestions sounded very sweet while still being fat. Maybe it wase a huge upgrade from a crap 7 inch practice amp speaker to a marshall cab, but I LOVE it's sound! It sounds just as good as the 1960A cab.

This one is 10 years old and sounds like new even though I play at least an hour a day [and so did my friend who owned it before me], so it's been played about 3650 HOURS without ANY problems! For refernce thats 219,000 minutes!
