Not much to talk about feature wise. The handles do feel kinda cheap as mentioned in most reviews. Also, the option to wire up stereo is lacking. So a 5.
While the size is handy for carrying around with causing a hernia, the width is an issue since most heads will be too big which creates a balancing act and isn't astethically pleasing.

The sound quality is great. Compared to the similar 4x10, I found the 2x12 to be brighter and more airy? The airiness might because the cab is on top of the 4x10 and not on the floor when I was comparing the two. Either way, there is a discernable difference, but it isn't a negative one. The 4x10 had more bass and seemed tighter and more focused.
The the power handling rating is for 150W which I haven't come any where near with my 30W Artist 3203 or when I hooked up the cab to my Roland JC-120.

I've had mine for 10 years and it was probalby 10 years old when I bought it used. It's never had any issues, but I haven't really tossed it around either. I've gigged a few times with it, but my focus was primarily acoustic for the last 15 years so it's usage out of the house was limited.

Overall, I love the cabinet. It's a back saver compared to a 4x12. Also, since I'm not running a 100W head, I'm able to hit the "power band" on the speakers without going deaf and waking the dead.
I'd love to find a matching bottom 2x12 cab, but I've never seen one locally or on ebay. The slants come up occasionally on ebay. But I'm very satisfied having the 4x10 bottom.... which I'll probably mate up with the 4x10 top sooner rather than later.
I bought mine with an Artist 3203 head for about $500, so I figure $200-$250 on the cab which is lower than what I've seen them go for on ebay which is typically $350 and up.
I may also mod the cab to run stereo to hook up to my modeler and a stereo power amp.

80's 2x12" cabinet
Light weight
Good for rock, Zeppelin, AC/DC, and pop
Two G12T-75 Celestion, 75W, 4ohm speakers giving total load of 8ohms
I use this cab under a Marshall VS100 combo, I just moved the rubber feet on the VS100 to suit the cab. Perfect fit and balance. The combination of the three speakers sounds great. The fizz of the Celestion Gold speaker in the combo and the more bassy sound of the 2x12's in the cab. I have been using the combo for pub gigs, using a stand to tilt he combo back for projection and monitoring for myself. Now the cab lifts the combo up to a good height for both and having speakers low to the floor adds to the bass frequencies (either that or I'm just going crazy)

I use an 80's Gibson Les Paul Studio throught the amp/cab setup
Sound quality is great, to my ears, clean or distorted.(see above)
Expect that distinctive Marshall sound.

Not much to go wrong with these, check the speakers when buying. You should be able to press the voice coil and feel no resistance. Check cones for rips etc.

Playing for 3 years. The Les Paul/Marshall combination is a distinctive sound and I am happy with the quality of the cabinet based on the sound.
I would definately repalce the unit if I lost it. It's a cab you don't see often where I live, so I like the fact that it's a little different.

1966A 2x12 like said looks like a shrunkin 4x12.It origanlly came with two G12T-75 speakers.Mine has one G12T-75 celestion and on e replacement Pyle speaker(which should be replaced with a vintage 30 soon).Has one 8ohm input.I give it a 9 cause stereo switching would be nice(not that I'd ever use it but nice)

Sounds good evan with the Pyle in it,can't wait for the other celestion.Seems to have a tight sound to it kinna compact compared to a 4x12 but a nice sound.I believe mine is a 1986 or 1987 as I dated the Celestion and it dates Sep 86'.

I was looking for a 2x12 in a hurry,I have a nice vintage 4x12 with G12M-25s but cause of a truck issue and other BS I needed a smaller cab,I really did not want one at all.Only one shop had one and this was it.I was kinna thrown back by it at first expecting the usual 1936 cab.I really had no choice so I tested it and bought it.Once I got it home I cranked my 50w SL-X Marshall head through it and it sounded good for hard rock metal.I actually like the sound and the look is just awsome. It keeps growing on me,it looks(for lack of a better word)cute compared to a 4x12.I think $300 is a lil steep but at $250 I would pay.I needed one so I had to pay.I would like to find a 1966B and get a smallbox head, maybe a THD Flexi 50.

I bought my slant 1966a cab and head new back in the eighties and love it. The head is craping out on me so I bought a rocktron velocity 150 to replace it. I will now be running both this cab and my lab series cab off this. Used with a Digitech GSP21 legend. I had the problem with the head not fitting on top of the cab so what I did was center the head on the cab and drilled new holes that are the same depth as the old ones, problem solved. Would very much like to get my hands on a second cab to have a full stack.

I used everything from a 1971 Les Paul, 61 Gibson SG, Ibanez RG550, and a Paul Reed Smith. All sounded great. Mostly playing hard rock and some metal. Combined with the Digitech it sounds great. The only mods I did was putting a camoflage screen on and padding the inside back pannel to give it a little more thump.

I used it all the time gigging without any backup amp, up until the head starting heating up then the volume would slowly start fading. I then switched to my Lab series witch sounds just as good, but it weighs a ton.

I have been playing for around twenty years, self taught. I wish I still had my 71 Les Paul and my 61 SG, but I still have my RG 550 and my Paul Reed Smith. The PRS is from the early 90's and plays like a dream. Never had a problem with the Digitech and would never part with it. If my Marshall was ever stolen or lost I would certanly try and find a replacement. I bought it because it was kind of low in price at the time, the only other amp I was and still am trying to get is a Mesa Boggie twin 12 100watt combo. Price is a little steep on this one though.

I bought the stack 1966A and 1966B combined for $150. What a steal! I love these, these are the same size as the 1965A 4x10 can be easily mixed with one of these. Very portable and actually fit in a car. I gig with these on a regular basis and wouldn't trade them for anything. I'm using a 30 watt Marshall Artist tube amp to drive them.

I play either a 83 Gibson Les Paul or a 85 Gibson SG through a Digitech RP-7, Crybaby, then into the effects return of the Marshall Artist. I use the effects return jack to bypass the Artists solid state preamp since the RP-7 has a 12ax7 tube preamp built in. The cabs make this set-up sound sweet.

I've been playing in bar bands for 12 years. If these were stolen I'd search high and low to replace them. There is nothing I'd change about this cab, it has the lightweight of a 2x12 but looks like a killer 4x12. How can you go wrong?

I bought this to use with a Marshall JTM 45 head. These cabs are only 1/2 inch narrower than the JTM 45 and 1987 smallbox heads. I replaced the speakers with Greenback 25 celestions. This cab sounds just like my 1960AX cabinet now, and I can carry it by my self.

Marshall 1966A Cabs made between 1986 and 1991. As mentioned in the other reviews here its pretty basic. Slant cab, 2x12, made to look like a 4x12 although much smaller. Features two 75watt celestion speakers.

I've been playing for 12 years. I power this cab with a Yahama power amp. I use a Digitech Legends II pre-amp. If this cab was stolen I'd probably buy another one if I could find it. Otherwise I'd buy a 4x12. What I like about this cab is it has a good sound and it's light enough that it won't break your back to move it. Marshall no longer makes this model but if you can find one used, its a great deal.

as Cabinet features go, its very simple. its an angled 2x12, and looks like a scale version of a 4x12. It has one 8 ohm speaker jack in the back. The speakers are 75 watt celestions.

This cab would really rate a 9.5 with me. I use a Fender 50s strat, a modded Fender standard strat HH, and a Epiphone les paul junior, through a board with a crybaby, ts-9, phase 90, dm-2 delay, and micro synth, and I use a JCM900 4100 watt all tube head with it. The reason why I bought this cab was because I didn't like lugging a Marshall 4x12 all over the place just to practice. And I am still very impressed with how this cab handles my sound. It sounds extremely close to what the 4x12 puts out. This cabinet does the same job filling the room with sound. The handle things on the side vibrate although. But this cabinet sounds tight, doesn't distort, and has a good amount of lows for a 2x12. The 4x12 has a little bit more lows, but I can barely even notice the difference.

I got the cabinet used and it had been used probably with not a whole lot of babying. But it works great and sounds incredible. And the only thing I hate about it, is that It doesn't fit my head on it. I basically put one leg in the hole on top of the cab, and then it doesn't slide around and fall off. Although it does vibrate the head more than fitting perfectly on the 4x12. So I just hope its not damaging the head slowly.

These are the 2x12 cabinets which paired with the JCM 600 head. 150W
