This review is for a little known 1973 Marshall Vintage amp known as
the 2041 50 Watt Tremelo Head. This amp is rare and I summize was
developed around 1972/73 using the "Artiste" head box which were usually red, orange, purple, or white and the last of the tremelo stamped chassis that Marshall wanted to use up. Most "Artiste" amps were 2x12 combos but this one came with a seperate 2 x 12 cabinet and was meant to piggy back with the amp head.
My particular example is red but otherwize exactly like a typical Marshall 50 watt tremelo. Sounds fantastic and the tremelo works well although somewhat limited in range.

sounds like a vintage marshall - huge and aggressive with lots of
high end chime.

I have a fairly nice collection of vintage Marshalls including a '68 Plexi, 71 100 watt, 73 100 watt, 71 smallbox 50 watt, 20th anniversay 50 watt, and others. This one is by far the rarest and
most desirable of my collection.
