1973, Marshalls first transistor amp apprantly, though I can find no information about it anywhere at all.
It has 2 channels, a lead channel and a rythmn channel I think though they are just labelled 1 and 2. There are 3 inputs, 1, 2, and 1+2. Both channels have their own volume control and there is a master volume. Presence, Bass, Mid, Treb pots. On/off switch. There are also two switches, one to cut the sound and one to boost it. These are labelled 'cut' and 'boost' funnily enough. That's your lot. There are 2 speaker outs at the back, a foot switch input for the boost and a line out (I think). It's simple, straight forward. I like the idea.

Well I bought it second hand and I'm sure something's gone in it. Having read about other Marshall's though I'm less sure now. The three seperate inputs seem to all do exactly the same thing and the 2nd channel doesn't seem to have much volume. I think the Bass has gone in the amp but I'm not sure. Saying that though, when I was checking it out to buy it the sound was really clear and loud and a lot of dynamic difference from playing soft to hard. I use a Hagstrom 1963 Futurama so my sound is tres trebbly anyway. I'd be interested to hear what it sounds like with a humbucker type. It doesn;t really distort at all even right up to 10. Jst sounds nicely overdriven. I haven't really checked it out properly yet though - not played a gig with it or anything. With the bass sorted out it would be dead good.
The eq controls don't seem to do anything - that's what's wrong and a common problem with Marshalls Ibelieve.

Well it's knackered isn't it. Saying that it looks well used and it's pretty old. Probably pretty hard working really.

Well I'm going to try getting it repaired so I'll let you know once the tone works properly but it seems like a pretty good amp to me.
