one fair clean channel and one incredible overdriven channel. 2 incredible stock 12" speakers. pre and master gain provide control on the overdrive.. no channel switching and no reverb :)

Sound Quality : No Opinion
i use it with a 1968 strat and a 1985 lp custom. 3 band eq and presence are pretty tricky to actual standards but they are gound sounding and give the realistic dirty tone. i happen to put fair amounts of gain with a foot preamp to achieve the gorgeous dying amp preamp screaming sound. incredible rock amp for studio and small gigs. the eq and speaker sound incredible.

Fairly standard panel. It a 70's amp so no frill's.Personally I like the basic's.Keep it simple...

Sound Quality : 9
I've had this amp over 20 years and played several guitars through it.
The most compatable is the Gibson Les Paul.Classic sound....
Hi input is awsome.Lo input is pretty cool but you lose alot of volume. Then if you crank the amp the buzz is bad.Even so I have to give top marks to this baby..

Reliability : 8
Never had any major problems.Keep it clean and dry , change the valves every now and then and it'll be fine.

Never dealt with dealer.Bought it second hand back in 1980 at the Rock Shop in Dublin.Brought it to America with me and have it since...

I've been playing since 1975.I've had several Marshalls also a Vox AC 30 a Laney 100w half stack and a Hi Watt 50w head and cab.My Guitars are a 81 Les Paul custom and a 1994 Fender Strat...
I've alway's like that Marshall sound.I like originals and Marshall certainly is.Also I ride a Harley which goes along with the original theme...

This is the mkII 100 watt 2x12 combo with el34 power stage and original speakers.2 inputs,hi and lo sensitivity.Master volume, preamp volume, bass mid treble and presence.

Sound Quality : 10
Instant gratification. The lo input has all the Marshall harmonic content with a softer edge than later Marshall gear. The hi input is addictive and responds to the slightest change in pick attack. This is the sound that made me want to learn the guitar.

Reliability : 9
It`s a fairly simple tube amp, keep the number of a good amp tech handy and you shouldn`t have any major problems.Well above average reliability when compared to modern three channel switching amps.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Marshall are a great company, but you`ll have no problem getting this repaired locally.

Overall Rating : 10
No other amp sounds like a Marshall. The only pedal I use with this is an Electroharmonix Holy Grail. The distortion is phenomenal, totally musical.A cut above 800`s and 900`s.Let`s hope Marshall do a rereleaese. At #400 secondhand I think this amp is excellent value when compared to some of the valve amps around today. The tone of a marshall(or specifically the voicing)is timeless, like an acoustic guitar.Other amps sound dated,or have a "vintage" tone that overpowers your playing. To me this amp is one of the peaks amongst the himalayas of the amp world.
