Early 90's combo...bought in Japan. I removed the chassis from the combo and made a head enclosure for it...normally use it with a Marshall 4/12.

I have to give this little amp an honest 10 for sound quality. It's truely the cat's a$$. I play in a 4 peice blues/rock band and our rythm guitar player has used this for the past year both rehersal and live shows. It's got a very nice warmth to it that alot of the newer Marshall stuff doesn't have. (the G30RC comes to mind as pretty lifeless and crummy amp in comparison).

We've used it for studio recordings and it comes out sounding very full.

The pots are crummy and I've had to replace two of them becuase they were very scratchy. Other than that, this little guy is a workhorse. It has seen alot of use and abuse and it's still going strong.

This is such a fantastic amp for rock music. Great sounds abound from within it's meager 12 watt circuitry. This amp has played alot of shows, and because it's in a custom-made enclosure(a nice looking one to boot) it always brings a surprise to sound guys and other musiciains alike when they find out it's *only* 12 watts. Plenty of power to play most small/medium sized clubs without being mic'd...we've done it.

If this were lost, I would get on ebay and buy another.

Believe it or not..

Believe it or not: it actually produces a very nice clean sound for my FENDER RHODES 73!!! Not bad for a guitar-amp!!!!

Even though I, now and then, plug an extra speaker on it for extra full bass-sound it has never failed me.....
Only now it needs some cleaning of the pods (crackling)... I used it unserviced for more than 10 years.

I did install some little feature so I can listen to it and have the spaeker mute (headphonejack didn't do it... shich is nice for line out but not for neighbours..) It's an easy to deal with amp so I didn't need custumer support.

Bought mine years ago 1992 for 100 gulders (approx $50 at the time) for the 1970's GibsonSG which also makes a nice couple... Indeed nice or indoor use. Pity that they become rare and now I have to deal stereo with an MG15CDR. Which unfortunaely reacts more like a guitaramp than an overall amp the lead12 proved to be. MUCH clearer and direct sound.
Also the lead12 with Gain produces less of a METALsound but more round distortion! Unfortunately for Headphones (sound didn't go off when plugged in) and speaker-out I had to convert it a little. It still works. :)Now for that lost second one which wantes to join the first...

I play classic rock/rhythm/blues. Two channels. Red enclosures. Effects loop, which I haven't figured out, yet and Headphone jack which I don't use. This amp is loud enough to easily make my ears ring, although I expected it to be louder, but 12W is more than enough for anyone's living room. This is my first Marshall amp after playing for over 20 years and it is the perfect size for me. I plug this through what I consider the best speakers ever made, 2 Peavey 12 inch Black Widows sitting through a 120W combo. The 120W needs new capacitators, and requires very loud commitment to warm the tubes; and the 12W Marshall suits my needs perfectly.

I play mostly a 1987 Ibanez 540S through Boss multi ME50, BBE Sonic, Aphex Exciter and GE-7. I read that you might give your other overdrives/distortion effects away after owning a Marshall and they make great gifts. I didn't believe it.

I've lived the past 5 years with a Crate 15W Flex Wave and thought that tone couldn't get that much better. Well, it does. After experimenting with tones for the past several years, I almost have to start from zero again. It's a good thing. The sound is basically altered and created into Marshall tone, exclusively.

My Crate, I couldn't listen to over 2 1/2 on the dial, the Marshall's tone doesn't break up at all and I feel comfortable playing at loud volumes. I have always tried to sound like Joe Perry, and thought that I was, but there isn't a substitute for the original.

I bought this on Ebay for $103 and plugged it in and the original owner must have taken very good care of it. No problems anywhere.

I'll never need them, I hope. Although I did email Marshall about their recent mini stack and asked if I could just buy the amp and not the speakers and I did get a reply within 2 days. It wasn't the answer I wanted, you have to buy the entire set.

This amp head is exactly what I have looked for. The tone is there. The volume is pretty massive for indoors and could probably get fed into a PA for louder venues. I've read here that it is better than the latter produced mini-stack.

I love the Marshall tone only because I grew up listening to it. Who hasn't? Probably 50% of the music heard anywhere has been produced through a Marshall. It is like owning a piece of history. I have fought for years against owning a Marshall; and not becoming part of the "status quo". Well, if you can't beat them, join the Marshall Army.

I fell in love with the sound when in NJ in 1984 when I was 19 and I met, whom I believe, was Zakk Wylde at the time visiting his Aunt during the summer in Bound Brook. I thought it kinda odd that this teenager would be visiting his aunt for a week and bring his stack. Well, it was around 10 pm and he plugged in a gave me about a 5 minute set and my balls shrunk to the sound. His Aunt then pleaded, "Jeffrey, not now, its too late!" I told him about my Peavey Deuce which was almost as loud, and he kinda rolled his eyes with disinterest. My pride was kinda hurt, thinking, "who is this 16 year old punk communicating to me that my amp isn't so great?" He doesn't even own a car. Hasn't lived through life's anxieties... That's just Zakk, I predicted that he was going to become insane with the long hair, or rather successful with his committment.

I joined the US Army thereafter, hoping to earn $ so I could perhaps buy greater tone. Anyway, thanks Zakk for inviting me inside.

It doesn't have a date, but I know it was made sometime in the 80s. The amp has two inputs , high and low gain. Always high, cant seem to get much decent out of the low input. No channel switching, just a gain control for how much overdrive you want. But this is fine by me, it's just a practise amp. 3 band EQ and volume are the only other features, apart from headphone/line out. So pretty standard stuff. Yeah, it could be much better if it had a bit more power, but there you go.

I wrote the review on this based on the fact that the guy I got the amp from treated it like crap and one of the knobs is missing. I assume that the fuzz and crackling is because of the amp being treated like garbage over the years (it's in a pretty bad state). The rating is based on this not being a problem with half-decently treated versions.

This is where I was surprised. I use an old vintage 60s semi acoustic (not sure of the brand) and I can get some really good sounds out of this thing! It sounds louder than my friend's new 15w practise amp and you can tell, when you turn both the gain and volume right up, that it once was a great piece of kit. Theres loads of crackling with high gain, but boy does it give some good distortion! If you are using it for practise, then the 3 EQ knobs are enough to shape your sound to what you want.
I play classic rock, some blues, grunge and indie. As long as the pickup and tone settings are ok on the guitar itself, the amp will do its job very well. With lots of treble and not much middle, the sound really bites, especially if you add a pedal or two to customise the sound and add more distortion a bit

This thing looks like it's been through the wars! Both as well...
And, despite the fuzz and crackle at high gain settings, this thing looks like it would never break down. The outer casing is bloody bullet-proof as well. No problems here.

Never had to deal with marshall.
And the warranty would've expired before I was born, no doubt.

I bought it about a year ago, and recently I also bought an 80w G80rcd Marshall combo that is based on the MG series, nearly new. But I can honestly say that I can't get as good a sound out of it as I can with this little fella.
I haven't been playing for very long, but its not age that counts; I probably know a lot more about guitars and amps than a lot of 30 year old guitarists out there.
I can safely say that, with a service and a bit of repair done, this would be far better than any of the crappy 15w combo practise amps being sold these days. If it was stolen, I would be quite pissed off; it was my first amp!
If you see one fairly cheap, buy it. It will replace the majority of practise amps out there.

Got this off ebay and it has reverb! Built in the 80's. I will say the best little practise amp I have ever played and if needed , mic'd could be a good little back up amp under the right sound system. Super light and has the "Marshall" tone out of transistor amp!!! go fig...Best sounding Tranny amp I have EVER HEARD...and I play 1968 Super Bass, 1978 MKII and 1972 MKII heads.. Anyone that knows how to work their vol control on their guitar can get an nice clean tone and then all the way full tilt Marshall distortion. I have been playing for over 30 years in prof rock bands www.rolloverrocks.com and this little guy is always back stage plugged in and real for warm up. I would not bafawl if it were mic'd at any venue.

If you know what you are doing with your guitar you can get many dif guitar tones from country to AC/DC. It just depends on what you are all about. If you do not understand about using your guitar vol then do your homework before trying to get a clean tone out of this amp full tilt, but it can be done with easy.

The Marshall Lead 12 is hands down the best 12 watter out there for the touring bus / dressing room/ or practise amp/room. Like I said been playing for 30 years, I own 5 silverface fenders, 3 Marshall Heads, Mesa,Hiwatt,Music man amps. This Marshall is as cool as my other babys. If it was stolen I would buy another one in a heart beat.

Single channel amp. No channel switching. I have used this amp mainly for private practice and recording with excellent results. I attempted to use this amp at a band rehearsal as my main rig had failed. It was underpowered, but I don't believe it was designed for that specific use anyway.

I have gotten some very good heavy blues sounds out of this with my seymour neck pickups. Also, I use a Seymour Full Shred and that pickup smokes with this amp. Great old school AC/DC type distortion. Very good sound for a solid state practice amp. I've played it for a few bands i've been in and they all agree that this amp really cooks. Too bad it doesn't have more power. :-(

Pretty reliable. I got it as a "gift" from my old vocalist who wanted it put to good use. Thanks Ron. I've written some great music thanks to the inspiration in this amp. The volume pot has gotten very scratchy. I've tried to clean it with TV Tuner without any luck. I've never had this problem with an amp, but I guess it was in a very dusty environment before I acquired it. Otherwise, it's reliable.

For a practice, and recording amp this amp really smokes. If tone is inspirational to you, i highly suggest you check out this amp. I get inspired everytime I play through it. I can't say that for alot of amps

I have had this amp for about 2 years. I traded my grandfather for it for an old crate i had. It was cool at first. It had the usual, Gain, Volume, Treble, Middle, and Bass. But wait, THERE WAS NO FREAKING CLEAN CHANNEL SWITCH!!!!!!!! I am in a band and I need to have clean tones once in a while so I had to bear with playing with distortion all of the time and you cant use any type of pedal on it because it feedbacks like a psycopath, so later on i got my old amp back from my grandfather and everything got a little bit better. Oh and dont even get me started on the loudness. The sound really sucks when you turn the gain most of the way down and the volume up.
Its really a pain to use sometimes.

I use an epiphone les paul with it and it sounds ok with the distortion on. But once again when i try to make it clean it sounds like crap on a stick. It really isnt that good if you are going to play in public and are gonna have to use clean and overdrive in the same song. The distortion is good though, M'kay.

Well, if all of your amps you owned suddenly were vaporized and the only one you had left was this one. Yeah it can be used as a backup.
It is a very sturdy amp though. Its hit the floor a few times.

I've been playing for about 3 and a half years. I would actually play my crate with a worse distortion sound than that one any day. If it was stolen or lost i wouldnt care because it is a hunk of junk, but sort of would care because it was my uncle's amp.

This amp is very versatile and it's okay for a practice amp. There only two channels in it hi and low. I wish it had reverb and overdrive. This amp is great for practing and disturbing anyone, its only 12 or so watts solid state.

I am running an American made fender stratocaster custom which has beatiful sound. I would not gig with it because it does not have a enough power but you could mic it up. My style of music is rock and metal. The clean channel always stays clean at all volumes.

I have never had to take it in or anything.

I have been playing for a while, and the other gear I use is JCM 800, Ampeg vl1002 and a musicman rd 210. If it were stolen i would defiantly buy another one.

This is the English made version of this amp from 1986. It has one channel with high and low inputs, no presence control and a line out as well as a headphone jack. Mine is RARE as it is covered in RED with ultra rare WHEAT grille cloth-Ive owned 3 of these(one WHITE) and have never seen this grille cloth on the mini-stack version of the Lead12. It is dead mint and has celestion 10's in it. Feature wise,it is pretty minimal, but I'm gonna rate it high as the tone from this beast is freakin' amazing for a solid state amp.

These vary in quality a bit and the combo version can be weak distortion-wise. I use this to record and it flat out kicks ass from blues to death metal. A lot of people run pedals with these and they probably have a shit amp, bad ears, no ability or a sad guitar. I run primo Gibsons and Fenders into this and it KILLS!! That said, I've been using single channel Marshalls a long time now and understand their gain structure well. it also gets sweet blues tones if you limit the gain and turn the GUITAR down. You don't need a ton of knobs if you have ability and experience. Truthfully though, the examples of this amp I have experience with have all been SMOKING and I suspect those that have had bad luck with these need to go get a peavy rage or some other consumer piece of dreck. Bottom line...the stack lead 12 kicks ass for hard rock/metal...the combo 12 makes a groovin' blooze amp.

Built like the Rock of Gibralter, like every Marshall I've ever owned-and doesn't require the service the tube ones need to perform at peak.-I've run it live thru the board as a spare, record and practice through it all the time-no probs.

I've been playing 2 decades now, and I own so much equiptment it's just crazy. If this were stolen I'd be seriously bummed as the color is so darn rare, but I wouldn't go nuts getting another because I got it just for the color, not knowing how much more usable it would be for me now that I am recording and practising more than I did a few years ago when my emphasis was on gigging. It does a couple things real well and that happens to be great "marshall" sounds-if you aren't getting that from one of these, it needs serviced or you just can't work an amp for anything and should consider accordion because you must be a dork. LOL.

Picked this up from a friend who was throwing it away...A 12 Watt, Solid State Marshall...1 8" Celestion...Basic controls here...Master Vol and Gain (no f/s)...Direct Out and Headphones...For this type of amp, the features do appear to be adequate.

I just picked this thing up from a friend yesterday...He was tossing it out, and I figured I'd check it out...Though I totally expected it to suck, it really is NOT BAD!!!

I play an Ibanez RG and a Les Paul...Both w/humbuckers...I will say this...For a practice amp, this does have a really good sound...You can kinda get that nice Marshall distortion out of it...Not face-melt distortion, but I wasn't expecting it...Very traditional Marshall mid-range sound...With the direct out, you could run it to a board, maybe for adding a track to a recording or something...Clean sound isn't terrible, and would certainly be fine for practicing...

Just got it yesterday...Looks to be in good shape...My friend had it for a while, so I am going to say it's OK...

Have been playing (Jeez) 16 years now, gigging out the last 7 years...Have a big-ass Crate full stack and 40 watt Marshall tube combo...Also have had a bunch of little practice amps...

For it's intended purpose, I would say it's a great amp...Seems like it would be great for practicing, and probably not a bad spare to have in the back of the car (running the amp into a board)...I wouldn't make this my first choice if playing a live show, but it certainly seems like something I could have some fun with...

Very basic features, but for the most part, they got the job done. Direct out is a plus, however.

I can't give this category a solid rating.. The amp (using the gain) is crap, in my opinion. You can get good clean sounds if you turn the gain almost all the way down (to "0.5" on the knob) and the volume all the way up. The REAL way to make this amp soar is to hook it up to an overdrive pedal. I use a BC Rich KKV through a Boss SD-1 and the SD-1 TOTALLY brings the amp alive. Gain cranked all the way on the amp, drive/level cranked on the pedal, volume on the amp around 2, hell yes. I love this amp now, it's a monster for such a small sized amp.

Never had any problems with this amp, it's most likely quite old, I've only owned it for a bit over a year.

This amp gets a 10 if combined with some form of an overdrive pedal, 5 by itself. I would definitely try and get another one of these, it's the ultimate practice amp, and would even be good for gigging under the proper condition!

Master volume, Gain, Middle, High, Bass. One channel, no effects loop. Does have headphone jack. I wish it had an effects loop. This is a 12-watt amp with a 10" Celestion speaker. Classic Marshall cabinet look. 12 watts is good enough for practicing at home, which is all I do anymore anyway. Not sure if it would be loud enough to keep up with a drummer though.

This amp has nearly identical tone to my old JCM-800 head that I had back in the 1980s. It's amazing that it's a solid state amp. I'm using an Ibanez guitar with a Seymour Duncan Distortion pickup, and the combination of that pickup and this amp makes for an excellent Marshall rhythm crunch with a good bite on leads. This is the best solid state amp tone I've heard.

I've only had this amp a few days, but it's very old--looks to be from the early 1980s. It works great, so that tells me it's pretty reliable.

Wonderful amp--if I were gigging, I'd probably run this through a power amp or mic it through the PA. Definitely can't get any better tone than this thing!

Although basic on the features this amp sounds amazingly good! If you crank it all the way up it still performs like rabbit on steriods which is always a good thing.
I play Death Metal and plain rock and the amp does the job for both styles. Having it clean is a no no though but lifes too short to spend playing lovely country songs!

My amp was originaly owned by my bro inlaw and he took it everywhere to all his gigs. and in the 15 years gone by he stored it in the attic for god knows how long and when i came to buying it off him it still worked like the day it was bought.

Has minimal features. Is minimal all around. Who needs stereo chorus, reverb, and a cuppocino machine in an amp anyhow...all that stuff is on my rack in numbers too great to be counted.

Sound best withe every knob on 10---no kidding. How brutal is the distortion? That is pretty subjective. It's a smooth non-square distortion I guess. I like the sound of my big muff into the amp, which is set clean. I have way too many outboard effect options now to give a toss. If you want cleanliness, avoid this one. It has too little power to get nice clean sounds at any volume.

It's a toy, but a marshall toy. It is built like a '32 dodge.

It's good. I'm gonna give it to my neice when she turns 6. She likes music. She will be cool, being the only little girl in town with her own marshall stack LOL LOL. I haven't yet thrown mine at any old ladies, but might one day. I like it but need more serious wattage. I'm trying to talk the guy I traded with to swap back. It's a very nice little amp, though. I didn't realize it was 15-20 years old. I thought it was a lot newer. Mine looks pretty new. It's signed by all the techs that worked on it inside. I saw a photo of one in the UK with cherry red vinyl with black grille clothe...now that looked DOPE!

This is a true english made marshall lead 12 combo from the 80's with a tweed color grill cloth and celestion 8" speaker. Marshall EQ's are my favorite, so no complaints there. Great line in/headphone feature. Gain sounds like a marshall. No reverb, which is a bummer. I made up for it by finding a dirt cheap analog delay pedal, when mixed properly adds that depth.

I play a Telecaster with a seymour duncan little 59 humbucker bridge pickup. I have wasted so much money on big amps over the years - but never even once considered selling this thing. Mine's pretty beat, and usually sounds like it is about to explode - which is awesome! It is the dirtiest sounding amp i've ever heard. I gave up on useless big stack amps a while ago. I choose little amps like this because you get to crank the shit out them, and put a mic in front of it for gigs (or rehearsal). What a waste buying a 100+ watt amp that the minute you play a show with, the soundman turns to 1 and mics it. I want the sound of an amp cranked. I love this thing - mine sounds like Angus Young on steroids.

Mine is beat to hell and must have an electrical short in it somewhere because often times I have to kick it or move it to get power to it - but I wouldn't fix it for anything cause I think that is all part of it delivering such a dirty sound. It's solid state so you can blast it and not worry.

The absolute best sounding small amp i've ever heard. Sure - alot of those old small fender tube amps are cool........but if you crank them, they will explode often. Trust me. If you find one of these from the 80's with some character and miles on it - and you play hard rock - buy it. You won't regret it.

This little amp is made in 88, it has a high and a low input (a/b) and you can play it with 2 guitars.
its a 12 watt 8 Ohm Solidstate amp with serial number WO6356 and it has got a 10 inch Celestion G10D-25 speaker inside
the only thing i mis is a reverb unit but it sounds great anyway.

I use it with my fender stratocaster and with my gibson les paul studio and i LOVE the sound of this little monster.
It goes from clean to high gain real nice. the i bought it from told me that the cleans sound just like those old AC30s but i touhgt it was a sales talk, but it wasnt, this is thge best small SS amp i ever heard !!

i bought it for when i go to jam with my band at one of the guys houses so i didnt have to drag my marshall fullstack around all the time.
And to tell you the truth, i actually liek the cleans on this little amp better than on my JCM600+1960AX

well its from 88 and looks rather used but i opened it up and it looks perfect to me, works great, even then i putt all the knobs on 10 it works great.

i mailed marshall with the serial numeber and the next day i got a mail with al the specs and the original handbook, hows that for service. REALLY REALLY nice people over there

GREAT little amp, i really really like it !!!

Real English solid state practise amp (not Indian or Korea, like now modern MG and AVT), 198x made. Seletion 25 on it, 15W power amp. Hi/Lo input, Gane, Level, Teble-Mid-Bass, Line out and Phones in one smart jack. Single channel. No reverb, no channel switch - very simple, it`s good for 80`th, but not enough for now. Amp has smart phones jack: when jack plugged depp into socket, you have line out, and if you a little bit pull jack back, you have headphones out with unplugged speaker - funny system.

I use Washburn cs780 (Korea) with it, and sound pretty good, clear and "classic marshall". This amp Ok for blues and rock, but for trash or metall you need a external distortion pedal. Clean sound is realy clean, and overdriven sound is normally overdriven. Very good sound for 10" practise combo!

It was made approx 15 years ago, and it still work!!! No damage, no noised capasitors, no noised knobs - incredible reliability. I naw, that is combo often used in gigs, not "home use amp"

I`ve beeen playing for 8 years, and this amp good for me at my home for practise. I chose this amp over from all other amps with 8" speaker, like Marshall MG15, Crate 15, Laney HCM15 and etc., because 8" sound is so cheaper, little, not serious. Why my opinion is 9? I think, balance between "gane" and "level" knobs could be more delicate: when gane in the range 1-9 you have clean and low sound, but in the range 9-10 you directly have _loud_ crunch. It`s not so good for home use and I need constantly balansed between this two knobs.

great little amp, i owned one during my "spending" phase, late @80's and really liked it but like everything then, i traded it for something "newer". Not at all fancy, no reverb, ect., but for 12 watts, LOUD!

simple sounds, great for fx through it, just have gain on 1, vol on full

i miked my last one up at a gig at The Rising Sun, '87, great sound but prefer a big amp for gigs

Marshall have on the couple of occasions i have dealt with them been fab

great amp with almost all the power you need to jam, a little iffy when it comes to clean and loud, distorts a little but for how old it is it does great, can keep up with 2nd guitarist, drums and bass no prob.

I am using a Ibanez RG 350 DX (awesome guitar btw) with Powersound (magnetic i think) pickups. Great for rock. You need a good pedal for distorion then it sounds great but not high pitched and grungy, more heavy, e.x. creed, nickleback styles are awesome. High clean volumes tend to distort but its still pretty loud.

Definitly reliable, never had a problem and my whole mini-stack even fell out of the van once onto gravel with no problems, if itrs cold somtimes it wont work for 5 min or so but hey, its about 10-15 years old. cant complain.

I have been playing for only 6 years, i have these pedals to complement my amps: digital delay, octave, heavy metal, distortion, chorus and a parametric eq, i highly recommend the eq, helps the amp sound awesome. i only wish it was a little louder in the clen so it never distorted.

I bought this amp used in '84, since then it has always worked.
It's a practice amp: one channel, HI&LO inputs, Gain,Volume,H M B and that's it; Despite this it can be very loud, really suitable for recording sessions and I dare say versatile.

Using a Strat or a Les Paul Studio whit P90 I normally plug in the Lo-Gain section: I think this enables you to get nice clean tones and incredible distortion - I also use a Tech XL 21 as overdrive. This is my set up for ZZ TOP or mid- seventies rock; sometimes I plug my guitar in a Zoom 9030 and then stright in the Lead 12 and be sure you get whtever sound you want. It's only a matter of using amp tones properly.

I'd use this little monster during gigs or at reharsals since '84, never had problems: really a reliable one.

I've been playing for over 20 years now through a variety of amps: Fender, Marshall, Crate, Mesa and I'm now using a Marshall JCM 900 and be sure that you don't loose so much carrying this amp to gigs and moreover is so light: ever carried a Twin? you know what I mean..
I think that to get so a small amp with so graet tone: sure you can have now amps with reverb or presence but I wouldn't change this one with any Valvestate or Performeryou could get your hands on.
The only advice is don't be lazy: learn how to use tones and gain on this amp you wont have problems on anything else!

The clean settings are too trebley for me. There are better clean
sounding amps for sure. The distortion gain knob does not do much
until you hit about 9 then it is razor thin between an almost good
sound and too brittle of a distortion. I do not use this for clean
and I don't use its distortion. I use a Boss SD-1 pedal and that
makes a world of difference. Amp is fairly loud, not heavy to carry
either.

Looks well made. mine is very clean and makes no bad noises at all.
Mine is dated 1985. I did a total tear down and cleaning/inspection.
The amp is very well made and you could actually work on the amp
section. It is laid out very well. Clearly marked PCB board with lots
of space between components.

I may keep this amp. As I said I like the distortion from my Boss
SD-1 pedal. I have other amps for clean sounds.

Hi, this amp is the head and 2 1x10 cabs. This is a great amplifier. This amp was made in the mid 1980's. The amp is very versatile for a miniature stack. This is the perfect amp for studio recording. The only problem is that it does not have reverb...but I use a reverb pedal. It has two inputs, gain, volume, treble, mids, bass, power switch. I even hooked the head up to a Marshall 4x12 cab and it cranks, but you want to make sure you keep the correct ohms. I say this is a great little solid-state Marshall. It gives you a great AC/DC tone and an terrific Billy Gibbons tone from ZZ Top. If you were to use this amp live, you would have to mic it of course, but in small clubs it would be perfect.

I get great sounds with this amp. I play rock and Marshalls are great rock amps, but I'm leaning toward the Mesa Boogie's and Vox amps. The sound of this amp is just so great for 10" speakers and 12 watts. The head can be ran direct to a mixing board instead of picking up background noise. The two cabs are loaded with Celestions. Most Marshalls are loaded with Celestions. If these only had Greenbacks......One special thing is you can get with the gain nearly almost up is great pick harmonics.

This has been a really reliable amplifier. When I first got it, I bought it from a music store but the amp was not in working order, so therefore I had to get it serviced, but other than that I have had NO problems with it whatsoever.

I have never dealt with Marshall. I'm sure if I did they would be friendly; When I had it repaired, the service was done very well. The problem with was that it was dusty and had some cold solders.

I have been playing for years and I think the money I gave was well worth it. This amp will soon be VINTAGE!!! I have compared this baby stack with the new 15 watters, and the only difference is the 3 watts and reverb...it may have an effects loop?? But anyways, the amp is incredible. I am thinking about using it to record my first CD.

I had the good fortune of stumbling across it in a pawn shop about five years ago for a mere $50.00 ... it's a mid-1980's version. Two inputs (high and low), gain, volume, bass, mid, treble, direct out and phones out. Not fancy, but certainly gets the job done and the price was right.

I'm using a USA Strat, using the Marshall as a preamp, into dual Fender Ultimate Chorus Amps (renouned for crappy distortion but outstanding clean channels). I play mostly blues and with this little Marshall's gain set at 3 and volume at 5, and Fenders volumes set at 5, the Fenders just purr and growl. I previously ran it through used a 75 Fender Twin and the Ultimate Chorus, and got great tone until the Twin bit the dust. Running the Lead 12 through the two Ultimate Chorus's was a bit noisy at first, but the addition of a Boss NS-2, has made a huge difference! I like just a bit of break-up and the Marshall gets it. I can get great SRV tones, Bluesbreaker, or crank it up for a bit of Hendrix tone. I have also run an acoustic (min gain & volume settings) through the low input channel, and in conjunction with the Fender's chorus and reverbs channels have gotten lush, crisp tones (Think SRV Lenny tone)! DI recording yields some awsome tones. Dynamics and response are damned close to tubes...really impressive.

I've played the holy hell out of this set-up, and have had no problems over the past five years. Dependability, and bucks were the primary reason I leaned towards this set-up. I'm sure I'll get another 5 years. I'll never give this amp up...it's fun, cheap, and with a little ingenuity this amp can definetly be a value added purchase.

It's built like a tank, and in the 5 years I've owned it, it's performed flawlessly.

I've been playing over ten years, and have owned many other amps and effects...but my current minimal amp set-up sounds great, and has been very dependable. I really like the marshall break-up, and usually roll the high end off the treble. I have tried virtually every distortion/over-drive stompbox made, and the Lead 12 gives me that growl I'd been searching for!
