2006 Lightning Reverb model w/ 1x12. Simple enough to dial in but nice interactive controls for lots of flexibility. Perfect for studio and small club use. Could also work in large places, as any amp could, with a good P.A. system.

AMAZING sounding amp. Clarity but also tons of warmth and complexity. Can get the renowned steely Matchless tones but I was also surprised at how thick and warm this amp can sound. This amp sounds absolutely three-dimensional to me as if I could walk INTO the notes. There's no one amp to handle every single need but when I plug into the Lightning Reverb it is just RIGHT. The amp is just so musical sounding and clear that it is addictive to me.

It's a Matchless! I own a few other Matchless amps and have owned many before. Never had any kind of noteworthy problem EVER after touring and clubbing with them for years. Only maintenance I've ever had to do with them has been replace tubes when necessary. The reliability has been as solid as the amp physically feels.

Phil Jamison has always been accessible whenever I've need to correspond with him. Never had the need for any service or warranty issues but they always answer the phone, so I think if there was a need, they'd be helpful.

I know this is another amp rating of perfect 10s but that's what this one's getting from me without apology. It's been that good for me and I have been 100% satisfied with the amp. I absolutely without hesitation would buy another Lightning Reverb if it were stolen. This combo is magical for my uses and is one of my favorite amps I've ever owned. It's kind of heavy for its size but that sort of goes along with the territory for Matchless amps. Not nearly as heavy as their higher powered combos like the SC/DC, etc.

This is a single channel combo amp, with little frills. It is different than the standard Lighting, in that is has reverb. The amp is also in an "oversized" cabinet, and is a bit bigger than the standard Lighting 15. I use the amp for studio work and limited gigs (just because I don't play out that much). Even though it's only a 15 watt amp, I have never had it turned up over 5, and I rarely mike the amp when playing live. I play small clubs when I do play out and the Lighting has plently of power for that. A great amp. I didn't give it a 10 on Features, only because it is a single channel amp, but man, that single channel sounds awesome.

My main guitar is an American Tele, which sounds great though this amp. I've also played a Les Paul Standard, Japanese Strat, a Rick, Fender Coronado, and other guitars through this amp with great success. The tone is always great. I play styles ranging from from alt. county to rock, Rolling Stones-ish I guess, and it works well. The amp sounds great clean, but really shines when the tubes get warm and you push them a bit.

Overall a great amp. It's all I use anymore, and unless I'm going for a special 'effect' in the studio, it's all I need.
