The only feature the amp has is an unbeatable sound. No effects loops, no reverb... and that's just fine by me. The only thing you want to run between your guitar and this amp is a guitar cord.
It has a volume knob, bass, treble, and master. It comes stock with a 12" Celestian that is custom build for matchless. Which is, I'm sure a big part of the sound.
The volume knob yields a high variance of sounds and tones, that are all absolutely fantastic.
No need for features when the sound is this good. Mesa and Marshall, eat your hearts out.

The most natural crunch I've ever heard in an amp. The overdrive is like a Tube Screamer on steroids. Not in the sense that it has more drive, but more tone, bite, punch and sustain. My favorite setting is with the volume/gain set to 10:30 or so. This gives it all the drive and sustain you need, AND you can strum full chords and hear every note.
This is without a doubt the most expressive amp that I've ever heard. With any setting between 9:00 and 2:30 you can get clean with a hair of dirt, to full on overdrive just by the attack on the strings. It really brings out the feeling and heart in my playing. I love it!
My drummer was in shock and awe over this thing. I can't wait to gig with it.

Built like a tank. All Matchless are hand-built and hand-wired. It shows.

The website has all the information you need, and the manuals are online and complete. I've heard that Phil Jaimeson really takes care of his customers. All of the forum post about support are for mods, not repairs.

OK so this little guy goes for $1800 new. But you'll never have to buy another amp for your overdrive sound.

The gain for this amp is just unreal. Sound like a Marshall Plexi and a JCM800. The version I have is the 2x8 combo and it is huge sounding. The fullest 9 watts I have ever heard. It is absolutely the best recording/small club amp I have heard. It ever sounds good clean or by backing of the guitar volume. I can't quit playing it.
