Strat Frankenstrat,Tele How hard you play and your volume knob It can do I do have to say that it is called a Blues burner or something like thatand I do not play 80's Metal and I wouldn't try I dont think a fuzz tone is what this amp is about All I know is every Christmas I email John and thank him for my amp

2 channel (all tube) with 6L6's in the power amp stage. Routine knobs (eq, gain, etc) I should start by saying this amp was a complete tear down and rebuild by John, who designed the 2nd channel in the fashion of a 1959 Bassman. The 1st channel was an inspiration by John, not really patterned after an exact circuit. I don't want to name the original brand of the amp as I have had some remorse having done the mods to it, certainly not because I don't like the sound (I do) but because in some way, it's a little blasphemous to the man who designed and manufactured it. Oh well, on to the good stuff...

I use Srats with single coils, ranging from stock impedance/output to absolute screamers and this amp shines with all of them. I have on occasion used humbuckers with the amp and they too sound great. I was looking for something that could play hard edge blues, with enough grit to cut it for rock as well and John delivered the goods. It won't shred ala Mesa rectifier, but I wasn't looking for that anyways. Channel one stays pretty clean almost all they way up, but channel two sings in the typical Bassman style. I use an Ibanez TS9 that has been modded to TS808 specs, plus a Boss SD1 and with these pedals the tonal variations are wide open. Oh yeah, it is loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30, the best guitar speaker on the planet.

Extreme reliability is putting it mildly, as I have played the snot out of it @ max volume for hours and it has never quit or gotten sick. Gigging w/o a backup wouldn't be advised no matter what amp you may play through (hey, it could always get stolen, where would you be then?)

I have been playing for the better part of 20 years and this amp suits my tastes just fine. The only complaint, if you could call it that, is at times, I wish it were a little louder (John measured it @ 38 watts) but that is probably due more to my own hearing loss than anything else!
