Powerful - compact - fairly light - made like a tank (as all Mesa items).

The EVL handles the power, not too crisp but just a great all-around speaker that guitarists, keyboards and bass players can use in a pinch. It projects way more than you'd think.

30 years "+", all styles, and I'd be pissed if it got ripped off. This model is no longer being made, let alone with the EV. They have others, but this one is such a deceptively nifty piece. Find one on eBay and score it! No complaints here. Use it with Mesa Stilleto Ace and Lone Star Special combos and other amps: what a nice thing to have to cover a stage or send to the drummer or keyboardist. As a spare if anybody fried their speakers: no problem.

Er... its a speaker cabinet.

Sounds good with fendery cleans, and pretty good with mild to heavy distortion. Haven't tried it with really heavy recto style high gain, or edge-of-break-up voxy tones.
It's a good middle of the road speaker- doesn't have the crystal clear highs you might want for a clean amp, but if you had that it would sound bad for other styles.

got this thing for a steal, they retail for $1100NZ and mine was in mint condition. Its a breeze to carry and sounds great... a keeper. Unless someone makes a silly offer of course.
