I just bought this cab just last week! I was initially using a Marshall DSL401, then found/bought a great condition 50w Single Rectifier on ebay for a reasonable price. I didnt expect to get the head so soon, so i was sort of stranded without a cab for about 2 friggen weeks and in the meantime i was just using the 16ohm 100w celestion goldback speaker in the dsl401. When i got the cabinent I thought it looked f#$%en fully sik! Lucky i got this cab cos now im completely satisfied (well almost, need 1 more). I was even about to get a 1960AV cab, but now im relieved i didnt. It's pretty heavy but not as heavy as it looks. Everything thing u see up close from the logo, speaker, tolex, grillcloth and even the leather corners are fully sik. You gotta give something a 10 when everytime you look at it you think, "Man thats fully sik!".

Sound Quality : 10
When I first got the goldback in the dsl401 it sounded pretty crappy and i was very discouraged, but now it sounds much better since its worn in quite a bit now. The Mesa sounds still blardy good thru the dsl401 speaker. The first time i heard the custom 90 in this cab, it sounded pretty f@#$%en good right from the start. With time it could only get better. To be honest, when i saw how good the cab looked and that it matched my mesa head better that i expected, i didnt really think about the sound until i started playing. I did have high expectations and it easily met them. Now i know what the previous reviewers are on about when they talk about this cab. I use a ESP LTD SC-200, and planning on upgrading dimarzio paf pro in the mid pu and breed in the bridge. I like all types of music, some more to a degree than others, but its mainly metal and rock. I cant choose between the two. I love AC/DC, old skool metallica, pantera, slayer, hendrix, sepultura, ozzy, sabbath, megadeth, pearl jam and even stuff from nirvana!

Reliability : 10
I'm sure it's safe to assume that this will last and love me long time!

Never had deal with them, don't want to either. If Mesy works fine then its all f@#$%en sweet. Peace to the world!

Playing for more than 10 years, started about 14, now im 25 turning 26. Also own a japanese fender strat, Ibanez RG370 and a ESP LTD SC-200. I plan to buy another 3/4 widebody cabinent. Other cabinents considered where all sorts of marshall, peavey, randall and mesa's ranging from 4x12, 2x12, and even 2 1x12. I got this 3/4 wide back cos of the looks when 2 are paired with a single rectifier head, and 2 speakers is enough for my usage. I am curious about the recto 4x12 closed back with vintage 30s. Maybe in the future.

Like the other guy said, theres an input for a speaker cable (8 ohms)

Sound Quality : 10
I have the 50 watt rectoverb that comes with a one 12. That amp alone sounded pretty good but adding this speaker cabinet gave it some serious balls and really warms up an already warm sound if that is possible. I used to play a mark III head with a 2-12 cab from the 80's and that was ok but when you put the speakers in seperate cabinets, it seems to really change the sound which I had not realized in the past. Anyway, in band practice I put the speaker across the room from the amp that it is pluged into and it sound awsome. I've always been after good tone, (Eddie, Warren, Jimmy, Eric, etc) and have never written a review but felt like I would want someone to tell me about something that sounds really good that is out there.

Reliability : No Opinion
Never had problem with boogie stuff. Built extremly well.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing about 15 yrs and have played alot of different gear. My boogie set up with the extention cabinet is about the best sound that I have heard for me. I was looking at the Soldano Lucky 13 combo and it seemed to have a ridiculous amount of noise in the amp and the tone seemed good but not $2500 good. Once again this cab with the rectoverb 1x12 has a great sound that is warm and heavy and hits you in the chest.

1x12, 8 ohms, widebody which gives it a fuller sounds (the 3/4 tuned back also contributes to this, i think). input, parralel output w/ celestion 90 black shadow speaker. i like the parallel out option, so i give it a 7. a 1x12 cant be too versatile i guess.

Sound Quality : 10
it sounds better than the stock speaker in my fender hot rod deluxe. i just use the 'internal' output in my fender to this cab. i don't have much experience with cabs, so i guess you really can't totally trust my opinion. i hear it sounds as good as a 2x12, but i've never compared to a 2x12. i give it a ten because i dont know any better

Reliability : 8
its easy to carry around and transport, unlike my combo. its not bulky, even though i think its like 40 pounds? I've banged it into a wall or two... nothing happened. i think the speaker is in very safe hands. i bet i could drop it from my roof and it wouldn't fall apart. since its bigger, though, i'd bet its easier to break than a smaller 1x12. i stack my 50-lb fender on it, and its hold up fine. i love the rubber gripper feet... they are real nice

Customer Support : 10
i called mesa once just to find out a price on their then 'upcoming' F-series models, they are real nice and you can call em and they will actually talk to you. one time i emailed them and said that they should have the manual for the V-1 bottle rocket on their manual page... they sent one out to me the next day for free. i also hear they are good with everyone and send free tubes if you get bad ones.

Overall Rating : 10
it was an awesome deal from a friend, 200 bucks w/ cover and speaker cord. i plan on buying another one, once i get a new amp. i just hope i can find one... are they discontinued? theres nothing that i miss on this, its perfect for me. the black cover/grill on the front looks cool too. if stolen I would find out where they live, bring over my fender, plug into it and turn the volume to 12 while they are sleeping, let it feedback, then hit them with my guitar and run away.

Wow...This thing is crazy and amazing!!! Like the guy below said this is not an amp, it's a Mesa/Boogie 1x12 widebody speaker cabinet.
It's loaded with one powerful Mesa Black Shadow 12in speaker made by celestion (wow!)and is a 3/4 closed back cabinet. It is handsomely built, although I use this unit with a Dual Recto Tremoverb, and the head is a little bigger than the unit... Hey, features on this unit?
Well you have speaker input...hahaha! Duh?

Sound Quality : 10
Sound-wise, this thing really rocks... I was really suprise to play with this cabinet... I have a Recto cab 4X12, and I had them side by side and played through them... And I kid you not, this one kicks ass! I cannot believe this thing "breathes air out", pushes air like a tornado! Damn it also cheaper that the rest of the stuff they make but the quality is still there! I also tried using it with another same 1X12, and it totally distroys the recto cab 4X12 at guitar center. So I bought one got it on my Tremoverb, and BAM! Got new sounds and new tone....Godsmack-disturb like sound!!! And I can make it any sound that I need and I like.... The clean tone on this cabinet is also amazingly good.... The LOW END on the Red-modern channel is just earth-shaking sound that sounds so huge, it could probably move my apartment two blocks out of place!!! Nice-nice low-end!!! And the leads riffs are just so good it melts my guitar after the riff.... In band situation...it is just outragous, my band members loved it.... I am saving up money, I will probably buy another one or two, heck three more!!! This is just great best 1X12 I ever had in my whole life time that I have been playing....err? That would be 9 years.... Buy this cabinet if your on a budget, I bought this one just for practice only, I CHANGE ITS STATUS!!! I am going to use this unit live.... and just leave the recto 4x12 on stanby or display.... hahaha!!! No I am not from mesa boogie or in anyway related to them... I just love there products... when I become famous I will call them up so I can get a wall of this thing.... =))

Reliability : 9
Yeah... I can depend on this, I have for years.... the only thing this cab is rated at 90watts, I am using the spony or the amp dampener for this unit... I have a 100watt head, I am scared it might blow it out... But like the guy said its a MESA it is most likely would blow-up on me... One day I will try this cabinent on 100watt setting and if it blows then... I would replace the speaker and not hit the 100watt or bold setting on my amp... =))

Customer Support : 9
they have good support... they are ok... I like talking to there support they are knowledgeable with there products....

Overall Rating : 10
Overall, this cab is hands down the best 1X12 for the money and for the sound.... I don't think you can go wrong with this one... But simple advice... try it out with your head or whatever stuff you use first... there are alot of variables, but this one I think can handle all those variables... good one...mesa....

This is not an amp .It's a Mesa/Boogie 1x12 widebody speaker cabinet.
To give you a better idea of size it's as wide as a Mesa rectifier head and much taller than their smaller 1x12 cabs .
It's loaded with a Mesa Black Shadow 12in speaker made by celestion
and is a 3/4 closed back cabinet.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this cabinet with a Mesa dual rectifier head and various guitars. It sits on the cabinet perfectly and the head and cabinet match in size nicely and look great together if that's important to you .(it is to me)
In a word the cabinet sounds very BIG and the mesa/celestion speaker sounds crisp and clear yet has alot of low end . A LITTLE SIDE NOTE, READ THIS AND SAVE MONEY.I was all gung ho to by a Mesa 2x12 cabinet
and was shopping for one when I saw this 1x12 widebody cab next to it for less money.
I A/B'd the Mesa widebody 1x12 against a smaller Mesa 2x12 loaded with 2 of the same speaker and the 1x12 sounded much bigger with more bottom .Mesa's secret is in the widebody 1x12's 3/4 closed back design.Plus the 1x12 cabinet is a little bigger in size to the 2x12 I tried so there a little more wood on the 1x12 , hence the bigger sound but here's the kicker. THE 1X12 WIDEBODY IS $200 BUCKS LESS THEN A 2X12 YET SOUNDS BIGGER .Something to consider if your shopping mesa speaker cabs .Try em all .There's noticeable differences in price and performance .The only minor thing to consider is that a 1x12 cab can only handle 90watts so if your blasting 100watts of bowel thumping death metal through it every night you could possible blow it but it's highly unlikley with Mesa stuff .

Reliability : 9
I do own and have owned alot of different Mesa stuff over the years and had very few problems with any of it .It's hard to be critical with Mesa stuff .They make a great product .My only gripe would be that there stuff is expensive but you get what you pay for in this case.

Customer Support : 8
Haven't had to deal with them on this product .I dealt with them in the past and they were helpful .It can sometimes be hard to get a hold of someone but they usually call back if you leave a message.

Overall Rating : 10
Excellent product .I was looking for an alternative to carrying around a big speaker cabinet to gigs and found it in this .
It sounds big and won't break your back or wallet and that's a rare thing for a Mesa product .
