Very nice compact 2/3 tuned back cabinet. The 1/3rd open design on the back gives it great coverage and midrange while still retaining the bottom end mesa is renowned for (Fills a room much easier than something really directional like a closed back 1960a). 360 watt power handling from the mesa/celestion black shadow 90's means it can handle just about anything you can throw at it.

Sound Quality : 8
I play in a ska/metal band and then basically an indie rock band and it suits my needs quite well. I have three 50wt tube heads that I go back and forth using (Bedrock BC-50, Crate VC-50, and a Crate blue voodoo). Overall i'm not particularly fond of the black shadows due mainly to the lack of natural breakup, but I suppose that comes with the reliability of these high wattage speakers. Even with me being biased against the speaker choice it is still a great round/full sounding cabinet.

Reliability : 8
I've had this cab for roughly two years and the only complaint that i've ever had is that mesa seems to use a fine/thinner tolex than most companies and it seems to rip fairly easy.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I've been playing guitar for around 7 yrs. If this cab were stolen I would probably try out an avatar cab with a celestion g12-30 and vin30 mix, but I think I would really miss the great dynamics of a well made tuned open back cab.

The cab looks awsome but wait untill you plaug a head into it. The sound is incredible it can cope with 360 watts of brutal power. It will be able to play anything from blues, Jazz, Country, Classic rock, Heavy metal, Punck, Death metal. Trust me if you are looking for thumping bottom end and clean cutting harmonics then buy this cab. Its expensive for a reason. It the best

Sound Quality : 10
I use a esp-Ltd guitar with EMG 81 active pickups, Through a randall head with a ibanez tube scremmer. I only realy play metal anything from metallica to Death metal. This cabinet does the job better then any other cab on earth. That is why James hetifeld and kirk hammet both use them, not to mention lamb of god, atryu, and dream theater. This mesa cab produces so much low end it can nock you flat on your back. It makes the distortion crushing, the High end will still cut through and the defintion and tone is so lush. I wouldnt use anything else.

Reliability : 10
Ive had this cab for about a year and its never let me down. I use it at home when i practice i use it every week for band practice, I use it at all my gigs so its always on the move but its built like a tank. It wont let you down.

Overall this mesa boogie cabinet was somthing i always wanted in my rig. But in the U.k they go for about #900 witch i couldnt afford so i was looking at marshall cabs when one day i came across a small shop selling it for #500 brand new. I asked why they where sellign it so cheep and there reason was because We have had it in the shop for so long and no one can afford it. So i snapped it up and got the bargain of the year. If this was stolen i would defenatly save up another #900 for another one i wouldnt use any other cab.

I own this cabinet. I have had it since it came out. I have owned just about every other cabinet that has been made. Notice I said owned. I still have my 3/4 back. I play all types of music through it. from clean praise & worship music to hardcore heavy metal.Blues. jazz, blues rock, classical, pop country. It has never failed to out due any cabinet I have ever owned or played. The low make every bass player I have jammed with so jealous. The tone reproduction is pefect for all stlyes of music.

I had a mesa strategy 400 when I got this cabinet & It was the best ever until someone stole it from me. I now use a marshall valvestate 120/120. I does quite well. I got a deal on it so I bought it. I paly a jackson performer with seymor duncan humbuckers. I handles all the power my 240 watt amp dishes out. It sounds so good I just love it.

Reliability : 10
I have played it since I got it in 2002. I wouls say over a 1000 hours & I have never had a single problem. That means gigging all over night after night. 3 moves around the northwest. Up and down stairs for most of the 4 years. Still going. the energizer bunny wishes he was a mesa boogie.

Mesa has never failed me ever with help. if my bumper sticker fades or comes off. I call & they send me another. I display it proudly.
They sent me the wrong cabinet at first. i got it at musicians friend in southern oregon. While it was being shipped back and I was waiting for the right cabinet. They loaned me a marshall 1960 cab so I could keep playing gigs. It really wasnt even close to the mesa but I used it til I got the 3/4 back cab. I lost a wheel off the cab and I called, 3 days later I had a replacement at no charge.

I have been palying for 20 + years. If it was ever stolen I would definitely get another. The only thimg I hate about it....I want 3 more just like it & the wife just doesnt seem to understand that. If you are serious about your playing. Buy mesa. The only thing about them is the price. Yes they are expencive, but they will last you for life if they are not abused. If you here someone talk bad about mesa it is because they cant afford one. I have a .22 calaber pre amp, a recto recording pre amp and I am getting ready to buy a roadking head. I have a jackson soloist guitar, a jackson performer and a fender strat. I have a marshall 120/120 valvestate pro power amp. A digitech 2120 artist pre amp. I have a full pa system mainly yamaha stuff. I am a singer , lead & rhythm guitarist, piano player, bass guitarist and drummer. I have 20 years under my bealt playing all stlye of music.

This compact, transportable 4x12 cab was made in 2002. Main feature is a tuned 3/4 back that mixes the best characteristics of a closed cab and an open back cab. Recessed side handles, fabric grill, casters. Wired for 8 Ohm mono; can also be wired for 4 Ohm stereo. Loaded with 4 Mesa/Celestion Black Shadow Classic 90 speakers.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this cab mainly for classic rock and pop applications and the 3/4 back design gives the kind of versatility I am looking for. I play Gibson SG Standard, Gibson 335 and Rickenbacker 360/6 guitars into a Mesa/Boogie F-100 head. This cab defines "hi-fidelity" and gives crystal clear clean tone as well as some beefy distortion/overdrive tone.

Reliability : 9
Very well constructed using quality components.

Mesa/Boogie's customer service team is legendary and has a well deserved reputation. They are outstanding!

I've been playing guitar for 18 yrs, mainly as a rhythm player in classic pop/rock and oldies bands. This cab has the kind of versatility I am looking for. It is a great sounding and compact cab that makes sense at venues of all size.
