bought 2008, not versatile at all, used in a jazz , blues setting,
has enough power, has blues ,crunch and burn ,has alot of dials, but will not take you out of the Mesa universe

using a 335 does not suit jazz or blues at all, it is not a noisy amp
this is where it gets subjective, lends itself to single coils,
very harsh sounding ,the tube distortion is awful, the clean is sterile, like SS, if you doing small clubs , the harshness of this amp will be very hard to listen to--not sweet sounding at all

playing 28 years, bought a fender, sold this on Ebay ,there was nothing I liked about it except built quality was good
my suggestion, don't buy it

Mine Is a 2007 serial# 547, This amp Is very versatile with 4 modes, sad but can only use 2 at a time, but plan your song list right with a flip of a switch( BINGO ) Great effects loop, nope no headphone jack, Eq and reverb for each channel, all tube from head to toe, 5 Watts or 50, your choice, Plenty of power,bedroom or on stage.

I have been playing for around 30 year's, I have had the amp for close to 2 year's, Tried so many brand's of guitar's to get the sound I was hunting for, guess what? still no Cigar. The amp still lacked somewhat In the clean and distortion, just not full? I called Mesa they said try and add a ext.cab, So I did, WRONG, This will not fix the problem, So I went on the Internet Ok change tube's To Tung-sol 12ax7's Wrong Again, The amp Is saying get this freaking blanket off of me, To nasal, Almost 2 year's later about ready to through the son of gun In the dump after paying as much for the amp and tried everything, Except change the SPEAKER, I done research on the celestion black shadow c90 MIDRANGE SPEAKER, Oh wonder not full range, OK I need to try a full range, Time to research, Forget Celestions In a 112 combo, yes In a 212 or 412 BUT NO! Not In a 112 combo, I was highly recommended to try a eminence texas heat, THIS WORKED o my gosh at the crap I've been through trying to remove the blanket, Fulltone On Low volume and high volume and all 4 mode's, Now 5 with blackshadow speaker But 10 with texas heat, Go Figure Randall

Great customer support, But they should tell you what to do? But I guess they are not suppose to, But they have been good on other Issues, so a 9 for that.
