I ordered my amp in May and just recieved it 8-25. It's based on a Fender Tweed Deluxe but has a two way switch that boosts the signal like a bright switch in one direction and gasses it in the other. The Soulkicker covers all types of music from warm Jazz to Rockabilly. Since I specified a Weber VSTC12Q, an oversized power transformer and the tonal range in which I play, it's perfect for me.Bruce Collins was extremely helpful in the building/design process and hardware used.

Playing through a Fender Strat and a Cort JTriggs hollowbody I'm able to cover any style of music up to and excluding metal. The amp has such organic tones and breathes so well that an echoplex is all I use for effects. A trademark of Mission Amps is that they are shielded and layed out so well that they run absolute quiet. No small feat for a tube amp.

I've only had this amp for a short while so I can't say. It's hand wired with all the best components with meticulous care so I don't forsee having any more problems than normal. I would not bother with a backup amp.

Bruce's reputation and friendlyness were key in my decision to have a custom amp built by him. I would send my amp to him for repairs if needed from anywhere in the U.S..The only concern I might have is the lag time

Been playing guitar for 20+ years and always dreamed of having an amp custom built to suit me. I highly recommend it! I've had or played through all the factory jobs out there save for a few of the high end boutique ones and for the most part they work pretty darn well. But there's just something about having exactly what you want that's appealing. I'm already planning on having Mission build me a narrow paneled Bassman w/ reverb and three speakers!. Feel free to contact me. I'd be glad to converse with you on this subject.
