My Plexi 45 was finished in mid-April of this year, so I've have it for about 2 months.
I play my own stew of 'Rock,' loud, but defined (not the metal buzz). From the Airplane and the Who to Jeff Beck and R&B fills (thanks Jimi!).
In terms of channels this beautiful amp has the usual 'Marshall' 2 channel inputs which are used in the acustomed manner.
The purity of the design is exemplified by it's simplicity - no effects loop, no DI, nothing which is not fundamental to the purpose of the amp - Tone.
Power is ~38 watts though it sounds like more. I use the amp @ home, in the studio and live.
Oh yeah, I should hasten to add that the Plexi 45 is all Tube, point-to-point wired with the best components available. NOS KT66s, 12AX7s and a GZ 34 tube rectifier. The chassis is a thing of beauty, surpassed only by the sound.

I use a broad range of guitars and the Plexi 45 handles them all with aplomb. High output pickups on my Moostone and Hamer guitars sound great, but the most wonderful tone comes from my old Gibsons - a '52 Goldtop Les Paul, a '58 Flying V, a '63 SG Special, '65 Firebird with a P90, a '65 Melody Maker and even a '73 Les Paul Deluxe. PAF and P90's (also Stratocaster's) seem to really hit the sweetspot in terms of lovely string-to-string seperation and the characteristic roar which sparkles with the best. In sum, lower output pu's are the ticket.
The two channels give a remarkable range of tone, from the best AC-30s thru the best Bassmans and Marshall Blusebreakers & JTM-45s. Bridged, the amp really roars and this is where I find my holy-grail tones. The crunchy, smooth distortion (@ full chat) let's chords rip and ring and single notes sing.
The Plexi 45 is extremely sensitive to pick attack such that without changing the volume setting on your guitar, you can go from a crystalline hush to arena roar. What a party!
The Klon Centuar works wonderfully with this amp, kicking things up just the right notch - a powerful synergy. Effects from a Rotosphere, an ancient VOX wah, MXR and BOSS stomps to a TC G-Force sound Great. Though, I find myself playing more and more WITHOUT effects - not even Reverb as the Plexi 45 doesn't carry a spring tank. Sounds corny, but the shear TONE has been a musical revelation to me. I never thought I'd play without effects even some of the time, but I do.
This is not an amp for over-the-top distortion and tuned-down metal sludge. It's an amp which rewards subtility and finess AND which can roar and sing.
I use this amp both alone and in combination with others. The combination of the Plexi 45 and an Orange is, well, awesome.
As to noise, pretty quiet, but quite sensitive to noisy effects and bad batteries.

Built like a tank. Dependable as sunrise in the desert.

When I first spoke to Victor Mason I was impressed with his knowledge and his attitude. At the time, I was looking for an old JTM-45, but after a dialog with Victor, I ordered this amp.
Though Mojave didn't offer the '45 in Combo format, they did one for me without a blink.
My confidence was rewarded with the best amp I have ever owned - and I have, or have had lots of amps. Vic is super nice, utterly reliable and is one to the wizards who knows what TONE is and how to build amplifiers which let us normal mortals experience the fun of finally sounding like the music in our heads.

I've been playing for the last 34 years and have collected lots of gear. Old Fenders, vintage VOX AC30s, Orange and HIWATT, THD and even a Gibson amp line the halls. Guitars are likewise supernumerous - or so my wife says. I even have a Line 6 Vetta.
If this amp were stolen I'd be @ Victor's door the same day. I love the simplicity, the purity and the SOUND. It's unique in my experience.
I want another - a head this time...
