Ok where do i start.Well ive been playin most of my life and in the last five years i've turned to more classic design amplifiers for my tone,I've had a Fender Twin , 59 Bassman , Dennis Cornell plexi which i still have and is a great amp , now a Deluxe Reverb in a Mongotone cab .
I like the sound of the guitar in its natural form ,I'm not into amps that cover up the sound of what a guitar really sounds like acoustically, like modern amps that have huge gain .If i can drive the amp and still hold the guitars true sound , thats what makes me happy tone wise .
Now on to the cab , the cab is truly amazing ive tried the same speaker installed in other cabs for comparison.I think that the cab represents the speaker extremely well and adds a deeper dimension to it , yes it sounds like my guitar but better , think clarity , but its so much more than just that .Every little change i make to the guitars
signal can be heard. So, if you have great gear already don't stop at the speaker , the cab is the next on the list .
I had my first rehearsal last night and the other guys in the group were telling me how great the amp sounded , that put a smile on my face.

Solid mahogany 2 x 12" speaker cabinet with dovetail joints at all corners, mahogany rear face with oval apertures and fitted with locking jack socket, birch baffleboard, side pocket handles and black grille. I bought mine early this year empty and loaded it with 2 newish Blue Alnicos previously fitted to an old AC30TB. My cabinet is the diagonally-loaded version, and on my request is fitted with wooden rails rather than rubber feet on the bottom, as this makes it easier to slide it in and out of my estate car.

Everything Marc says on his website is true. Projection and clarity of the sound is a huge improvement upon the standard plywood cab, and that is comparing against the classic 'chime' of a clean AC30! I tried this running the cab from the amp in the AC30 combo that previously held the Alnicos, and also from a new AC30CCH head. Clean sounds are great from both my Strat and my acoustic Carver, the latter requiring more care in amp settings because of the analytical nature of the cab (showing up the fact I am not using a proper acoustic amp!). The same thing I found also applies when using distortion pedals with the electric - a little more precision to get the exact distorted tone you want.
The biggest difference comes when you get together with the rest of the band on stage. Because AC30's are very directional, I always used to put mine on a stand in order to hear myself in the mix. The Mongotone sits on the floor (actually, because of the lack of rubber feet, on Marc's advice decoupled from it by a slab of thick carpet and underlay) and I can hear my guitar clear and distinct with no extra volume applied to the amp. I This is probably helped by the diagonal placement of the drivers, as one of them is a tad higher, but most of it I think is down to the constuction and materials of the cabinet.

The cab looks terrific with the Nitro finished wood, but you need to be aware that it will be more vulnerable to normal knocks and scrapes than the standard cab vinyl, leatherette or carpet type covering - if that is likely to upset you, then invest in a good padded cover. I thought I was above that kind of concern until I saw exactly how good this cab looks - I ordered a cover straight away! Maybe not very rock and roll, but, hey, a thing of beauty etc .....

Not needed repair, but on request Marc sent me a finish repair kit, just in case. Also Marc is happy to talk about specific requirements, amps and cabs for as long as it takes.

Been playing regularly for 5 years, after 2 breaks of around 20 years each. Have early '80's AC30TB and Marshall 100W twins as well, and use American Deluxe Strat, a cheap Cinese unamed Strat, and several Carver acoustics through these. Play in covers band, styles from Stones and Van Morrison to REM, Neil Young and Razorlight - this cab suits all. It will not be lost or stolen - I sleep with it!

Hand constructed mahogany cab, dovetail joints, pocket handles, oval open back, 2X12 with birch ply baffle board. Beautiful wood grain, brought to life with nitro cellulose lacquer. Very well made indeed.
The drivers are a clean, original pair of '63 Celestion G12 (T0731) Alnico 20watt, 15ohm (same as the T0652, per early Marshall's).

Well, here's the juice.
I A/B'd this cab with a stock '66 JTM-45 2X12 combo (Bluesbreaker) with stock first series Celestion greenback's (20w, 15ohm). The BB drivers are soft wired to the chassis via a jack plug, so I was able to compare the greenback's against the Mongotone cab, across all settings, by simply switching the jack plug around.
I got this cab made because the greenback's are a little flubby in the mids; nothing unbearable, but they lacked the definition when driven hard with PAFs.
The difference has to be heard to be believed. The Mongotone cab/speakers have a much better tone separation, are livelier and have that vocal quality we all want. With the nasal honk of old wood and PAFs it just shone. When you drive it with the bridge PAF, you get a warm creaminess that's just more 3D.

Cab handmade by mongotone. Mark is a great buy and I really recommend his products. It's a 1X12 cab, with custom dimensions. I talked to Marc for about a week before ordering, and we discussed many options, sound projection, materials, and so forth. It was obvious that his goal was to make the best cabs available. And to be honest, I think he did just that. The cab currently has a Eminence Wizard in it, but also used it with various other speakers, including the celestion classic lead 80, the eminence GB12, and Mesa Black Shadow. It has a brown grill, and is made out of lacquered (beautiful!) mahogany. It has a birch baffle of the highest quality as well.

I'm using it with fuchs ODS and SLX amplifiers. I also use a tone king comet from time to time and it's equally as great with the mongotone.
I run this setup with various guitars, the character of all of which are enhanced by the cab.
It sounds warmer and more 3D than any other enclosure I've used in the past. it's a 1X12, but sounds much, much bigger. I discussed a small oval opening in the back, and this does wonders to get the best of both worlds: warmth and precision. Clean tones ring true, OD tones are smooth as silk, but the most startling thing about what this cab did when I acquired it, is how clear and precise everything sounds through it. Like taking a blanket off your amp.

Mongotone is a great company, and I couldn't recommend them more. They really provided me with great customer service and answered every single query I had. They also know tone, and that shows in their work. I am SURE Marc would help me out if I had an issue with the cab.

If it was lost, I'd get another immediatly. I'm planning another order very soon, as a matter of fact. I would not buy a cab from anywhere else, because I know I can get what I want from mongotone. I wish it had a built in coffee maker, that would make it unbeatable. But until it does, there may be a coffee making cab that can be better than the mongotone.
As it's unlikely you'll find a cab that makes you coffee, I think you should look into mongotone. You simply can't go wrong.

All Mongotone cabinets are made from solid Mahogany using Dovetail Joints, Birch Ply baffle board, Pocket Handles, Nitro Cellulose Lacquer finish, Wheat Grill Cloth, Leatherette Piping and Neutrik Jacks.
My cabinet was a rehoused 2003 Fender Blues Junior amplifier re-cabbed in a solid mahogany cabinet, diagonally loaded with 2 Jensen C10Q speakers (10") and brown wheat grille. I had a Belkin 'kettle' mains socket and an ext cab output put in as well. Supplied with a vinyl cover, at extra cost. Speaker wiring is nice and substantial, not like the flimsy BJ stuff.
The new cabinet is bigger than an ordinary BJ and is about the size of a Marshall AVT112 speaker cabinet. Even though made of solid wood and with 2 speakers, it is suprisingly light, much lighter than my Mesa F-50.
As the BJ is only 15w, I only used it for smaller pub type gigs, so will probably do the same.
Rating is for the cabinet only

My type of music is mainly cleanish blues, so BJ's are fine for me.
Intiall impressions are very, very good. The BJ has now got a lot more headroom and the sound has tightened up hell of a lot. It's now very much like my old Blues De Ville 4x10, just a tad quieter. Bass notes are distinctive and almost ringing with clarity. No hint of any distortion, even at almost full volume. Sometimes they can be a bit blurred in a normal BJ. Chords are exactly the same, with every note distinct. Even the poor BJ reverb seems to have improved by being fixed to mahogany instead of whatever the BJ is made of. There is plenty of room at the bottom of the cabinet to change the reverb for something better, should I wish to do so.
Tried it for a while with my 1x12 ext cab, which is loaded with a G12M. Not sure if it made much difference in the house. Need to try it at a gig. I'll probably just use the 2x10, although I may get a 1x15 ext cab made by Mongotone.
Rating is for the Blues Junior housed in the new cabinet.

Mongotone offer a 3-year warranty on their cabinets.
This was my first cabinet made by Mongotone. Met Marc and his wife at a guitar show, where I picked up the finished cabinet. Both were extremely friendly and helpful. Marc kept in touch throughout the build and emailed me pictures taken during the construction

Been playing 40+ years and currently have 8 guitars. A mix of PRS, Gibson and Fender. Amplifiers are a Mesa Boogie F-50 amp and the Blues Junior. I also have a couple of 1x12 ext cabinets.
Would definitely replace this cabinet and Blues Junior if stolen. Love the new cabinet. Found Mongotone through an internet search. Previousl had a cabinet made by Torres, which is good, but not as good as the Mongotone
