This is a pretty basic amp with 2 channels (unswitchable), reverb and trem. Has a deep switch and bright switch. It can be switched from pentode to triode for less volume without sacrificing tone. Mine is an old specimen in very good condition. It's retardedly loud for a 2x10 combo, 130 watts being ample for anything(!). My only quibble is that if the channels were switchable, it would be a much more versitile amp. Simple but good.

I use this amp with my De Amonde pick-uped guitar and my les paul custom. I play in heavy-not-metal bands. The overdrive on the preamp sux at higher settings, but at lower settings it produces brilliant sparkley yet bassy tones. Pushing the power stage makes this thing roar. Did I mention that I use it thru a marshall quad? yeah, thru that it sounds amazing. Its own speakers dont really cut it. besides you cant take advantage of its volume without 4x12 speakers. The bright switch is horrible, making everything sound so sharp and raspy, only treble-deaf old geezers could like it. The reverb isn't too great. I guess ultimatley its good for getting a great valvey clean/overdrivey sound and then punishing it with distortion/overdrive pedals, which it loves.

When I bought it, it had the valves it came with in it. I couldn't understand why it sounded great one day and shit the next, without the settings being touched. New valves and the sound is ultra reliable. It has as much bass as a twin. Its never copped out on me in 3 years of gigging with it, and I don't bring a back up.

This amp is pretty good. Its not versatile, but if your after a fantastic lightly-overdrivey-but-deep sound which will sound awesome when pounded by distortion of overdrives, this could be for you. Again, I use it thru a quad. anything else is wasting its power.I've been playing for 10 years in bands. I use gretches and gibsons. If I were to lose this amp, I would probably just get a fender twin, but second to that, this amp rocks.

This so far has been a beast loud, rough, and tough. The bright switch when on and the treb all the way up the amp does sound real harsh I usually keep the treb knob at about 3-4. the natural distortion is crap but with your favorite FX pedel (I like the danelectro fab tone) you can get alot of different sounds out (with some fine tuning of the eq).
The deep switch makes a world of differnce for low end. The clean sound is real pure and stable.

This amp is well suited for blues, rock or metal(with a good distortion pedel)because the clean sound is good any effcet in front will sound huge.

I don't know the full history of the amp because I bought it used about 3 years ago but in my care it did fail a short tube was to blame after a tune up of the power amp stage it works wicked.
an easy way to fix up the amp is to replace the old biasing resitors with new ones (this will not change the sound too much but the amp will work better.

Two channels with a shared Master volume. No fx loop, no frills, just a meat and potatoes amp. All tube power but I think the preamp is solid state.

For blues, jazz, rock, this amp will handle those styles very well ! 130 watts is a lot of power for a small 2-10" cab. What a cool little amp and it sounds great ! Very quiet amp, you'll most likley need a pedal for your distortion tones but you can get a nice slightly overdriven tone if that's all you desire.

Music Man doesn't make amps anymore. Maybe they should have another go at it, this amp is a good one !

I've been playing for 28 years and I've been through alot of amps and this one is one of the few that I will hang on to ! I really like the size, power and tone of this amp, it will cut almost any gig that comes along. Good luck trying to find one though, it's the only one I've ever come across.

Same features as the Fender Twin Reverb. Two channels, footswitchable reverb and tremelo. Master volume. Sounds good at all settings. Weird in the extremes ones, but good. No efeects loop, no headphone jack, no bullshit. Plug in and play.

A Bluesrock dream. It even suits Pearl Jam-stuff. I bought this one because Jon Spencer plays one of these in Boss Hog. I have an old Welson guitar that won't stay in tune for more than five minutes. Welson and the Music Man: dream team. Due to the tuning problem, I can only use that combination in the studio. Most of the time I just put everything on ten. Plug in a telecaster with humbucker and go the Neil Young-way. If you like civilized distortion with a mean edge, buy an Ibanez Tubescreamer-pedal. For the death metal licks... buy a Marshall. The only strange problem I have with my Music Man is that is seems live a live on its own. Sometimes I don't have to touch anything to make it raise the roof. The day after, it just may be a lot of crap, no matter what I try. Yes, the tubes are allright.

Second hand. I don't think the amp-division of Music Man still exists.

I would buy it again because I'm in love with the thing. Sometimes when I'm playing, I just stop for half an hour to look at my Music Man. And sometimes, it even sounds great.

This is a 15-year-old amp, so it doesn't have any modern features like effects loops, multiple gain stages, etc. It does have the standard Fender-style twin channels, which are switchable. It's a powerful amp (130w into two 10in speakers), a hybrid of tube and transistor. I bought it because it was compact, had a great blues/rock tone, and it was popular with some guitarists that I admired. It is a straight-ahead, no frills amp.

This is not a metal amp. It IS a great blues amp, a good meaty clean amp, and a really good rock amp. The distortion is nice and gutsy, and it has pretty good sustain. I play it with a Strat and a Les Paul, and it sounds great with both. If you like the sounds on, for example, the first Aerosmith albums, this is a good find. If you want to play Metallica, keep shopping.

Indestructable. Popped a tube once, but this is a rugged amp. Weighs a ton, though!

I really like this amp. I bought it 12 years ago, and now I see them regularly for even less money. Plugged into a 4x12 cab, and with a Marshall for the dirty stuff, this is a great buy for the money.
