Not sure year built. I think its an anniverary one as it is white vinyl. Reverb isn't as deep as a Fender, but okay. It has a Phasor effect which is quite nice, I use on solo's quite a bit. I play generally rock'n blues. When I audition or jam I usually take this amp as it is loud and relatively light. More on sound later! On wheels so it rolls.

Sound Quality : 9
I generally use a Fender Strat, and have used a Larrivee electric with EMG's. Has a bass 15 inch JBL, I get a great deep tone. I max the output which is tube 2 x 6L6; I don't find the pre very nice for distortion, usually keep it down and use an overdrive. I have hated the sound and not played it a while, then played back a track recorded and loved it. Go figure. I am starting to appreciate it for what it does. Sometimes it really cooks. Musicman amps were used by Eric Clapton, and it does have that kind of blues tone. I should add that when playing just by myself I tend to get super critical about the tone. That goes away when I play with a band, everything is a balance and a sum of the parts ya know!

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem, its pretty reliable, probably because it only has two tubes. I have used it countless times without backup. I traded a Traynor 60 watt amp for it, it was being used by a bass player who blew the speaker. I put in a 15 inch JBL.

I've been playing for over 20 years. I also have a Marshall 50 watt combo, a Fender Twin 135 watt, an old Fender Temolux head, and a little Image 20 by Yorkville. Each has its place. Personally I would rather own a couple of different amps than one muli-tone modelling amp.

The amp was made earlie '70. I use it just to play bluesrock music (Rory Gallagher, Gwyn Ashton, and stuff). It's got two channels, which you can change with a footswitch (lead and crunch). The "R" means reverb, the " D" means distortion. This amp is a so called Hybride; it's got two tubes.
The sound is great. It is a 100Watt amp, and it's power is overwhelming....
The speaker is an ElectroVoice 15' .

Sound Quality : 9
I use a custommade Telecaster with a Bill Lawrence pick-up, and a Gibson Les Paul Professional '69. Those two sound really great on this amp.
The variety is low: you can only make a lot of distorted noice on this amp.
The distortion is a very nice, rough sound...
It makes a lot of noice, it sounds more like a tornado..

Reliability : 10
You can ALWAYS count on this one....

I don't know. MusicMan doesn't make no amps anymore

Overall Rating : 9
I play MusicMan as long as I play electric guitar. Nowadays I'm looking out for a VOX AC30TB. That's the only amp that sounds better! But the MusicMan is more reliable.....
