Comes with all the basics. Hi-Lo power feature is nice.

Sound Quality : 10
This is an EXCELLENT Blues or Blues Rock amp. Very nice clean tones with just a hint of scream and crunch. Great headroom with no mud. My speakers are switched out with Celestion 10's. These work great with this amp. Rajin Cajun 10's would also be another nice speaker to use.

This is NOT a metal amp. All of you Goth-Death-Metal guys can stick with your Randall's (which are also great amps) and leave us Blues guys with these babies.

Reliability : No Opinion
Unbelievable reliability. Caps & tubes are all you really need to be concerned about with these amps. New transformers and knobs can be bought from Mojo if needed. Corners can be bought from Ernie Ball. All other hardware will have to be replated with nickel or found on eBay.

None.

Just a great amp. Somebody needs to start making these amps again.

I think its a 1984 (ish) -based on the slanted front.
Features include : hi and low gain inputs, bright and deep switches (particularly useful for home, low volume use); treble, middle and bass dials, reverb and built in distortion -with a foot pedal that controls the reverb and distortion. There is also a "power switch" - which apparently "adds sustain to the distortion channel when it is set to low" according to the manual. I'm not entirely sure, because i dont use the distortion channel on this amp.
There is an extention speaker jack and and ohm selector switch on the back panel.
Speakers are 2 x 10inch Music Man speakers.
100watt output, and loud as hell. Could kill you at 5 yards.
2 big juicy valves sat in the back as well. Mmmmmmm.

At the end of the day, this little monkey has all the features i expect of it, and more. I rate it highly therefore.

Sound Quality : 10
Clean is what we are talking about here.
I dont think much else compares to it, other than a twinny / pro reverb. Its a real beauty in this department. The most amazing thing is the head room. Doesnt break up at proper high volumes !
I play funk with this amp, and its perfect for it. I searched for ages for the right sound/tone and eventually settled on a Vox AC30 with treble booster (ala' brian may) for my rock stuff, and this amp for my clean funky stuff. Expensive, and a little bit of a hassle, i know -but thats my bag, so what can i say ?
The main thing to understand, is that you are not buying this amp as a solid state "do-it-all rocker". I notice for example a young lad commenting on this amp not being that great, -and he plays rock music. -Well it isnt a rock amp, and if you want to be slash, go get yourself a Marshall. But if you want a valve amp, with a beauty of a clean tone that rivals the Fenders (afterall this was built by Leo !) or you intend to use it as a foundation for your arsenal of effetcs pedals, -then look no further. Funk, jazz, blues - thats where we are at !

Reliability : 10
Its about 25 years old and has got years ahead of it. Built to amazing quality standards.

Unfortunately the Music Man amps arent made anymore. The name was taken over by Ernie Ball.

Been playing for ages, about 20yrs. I own/have owned loads of gear !
My amps have included Marshall JCM, Vox ad120VTX, Vox AC30, Hughes and Kettner Trilogy, Line 6, Laney, and dont forget my little VBM recording amp.
If it was stolen i'd be on the trail for another straight away.
The reason i came across this amp, was that my amp technician recommeded it to me, cos he knew i was into playing funk. When he told me that he used to use them when he jammed with the average white band !!!, ("back in the day" ) -then i knew i had to get one.
Its amazing how small they look next to my ac30 - but its got the power, trust me !

I play an epi 335 dot and a gibson melody maker p90 thru it.
i play mainly classic rock and blues. It has a nice clean sound (not as clean as my 1968 fender bassman) The distortion is great if your into that.I play mostly clean with a little crunch to it.Always get great comments on the sound comming from this amp.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable.its nearly 25 years old and has never had anything wrong just a few tube changes

Been playing for about 30 years. i own several vox guitar and bass amps, fender bassman, fender acoustisonic, epiphone viola bass, gibson hummingbird, epiphone 335 dot.I really like this amp but when i compared it to the voxjmi ac30 it didn't come close to the sound quality of the vox or the fender bassman.I have a cheap vox pathfinder that i prefer over this amp.just love the vox sound over anything else out there. All in all this is a great sounding amp. It's like a fender vibrolux on steriods!these amps were made by leo fender post cbs buyout. They are very rare amps, with great tone and reliability. If you can find one for under $500 grab it.It's well worth it.

Mine is a 1984 model with the slant front. I play mostly clean which is what this amp excells at.

Sound Quality : 9
Super chimey clean sounds, not a good distortion channel but I never play distortion as I use it for jazz and pop music.

My amp is extremely quiet but that can vary as these are only available on the used market.

When used with my Maxon delay and chorus effects, I get a wonderful clean tone out of my G&L.

I A/B'd this amp next to a brand new, $1300 Fender Twin and actually preferred the Music Man.

Reliability : 9
I've been gigging with this amp for over a year with no problems. Granted, it is 20 years old, so I baby it quite a bit.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
If you can find one of these amps, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it just for its warm, clean tone.

I don't understand why they aren't as coveted as used Twins as they sound every bit as good in my opinion.

I was lucky. I walked into the store about 3 hours after it was consigned. I'm sure it wouldn't have lasted long in there as players in the know have a high regard for these classics.

For $300 or so that these amps go for, it is an absurd bargain.

I recently purchased a MM RD-100 in the 2x10 configuration. It puts out 100 watts at full power (2 6L6's) has reverb, single channel with high and low inputs, footswitch for reverb and distortion and a half power switch. There are several jacks on the front for effects I guess but I don't plan on plugging anything into them. I wasn't very familiar with these amps but took a chance, tried it and really liked it. From the information I had read in the past about hybrid type amplifiers I originally thought they should be avoided but have since changed my mind after buying and playing this amp.

Sound Quality : 9
In terms of the sound this amp excels at the clean stuff and is great for jazz, rock, and clean blues. It does have a distortion channel is but it's really not what I would call a true "distortion channel" but more of a volume boost. The reverb is not going to get you in the realm of "surf-dom" but can add a nice character to your sound. I have also found that the reverb is very sensitive to the volume your playing at and becomes more noticeable at the higher volumes. There are also rocker switches thad add brightness and more bass to the sound which both work very well. The amps does a great job at reproducing clean sounds.

Reliability : 9
I've only had the amp for 1-month but based on its age (20+ years) and what I have read about the reliability of these amps I expect to last me another 20 years. When I play out I'm always sure to take extra tubes as a precaution but this is expected with any amp. The amp weighs in about 50+ pounds but I think this speaks to the quality of the amp and the components used.

Customer Support : No Opinion
MM hasn't made these amps in years and can't say that I expect any customer service or technical support for it.

Overall Rating : 9
I think this is a great amp and enjoy the cool sounds I'm able to get out of it. If it were lost or stolen I would be pissed but would have to move on and by something else I guess.
