The amp was listed as a 1952 model, There is a light bulb in front of the amp that is supposed to light up a missing Oahu sign, I want to have a technician remove it because of the noise it makes, I am collecting off-brand tube amps as a hobby and I also enjoy playing from blues to classic rock styles. The amp comes with 3 input jacks ties to one volume dialand a louder MIC input tied to another volume dial, The MIC input is louder than the other 3 inputs, There is also a TONE knob which also functions as the on/off switch for the amplifier. I use this amp while playing in my apartment, I haven't used it with a full band yet, I want to have a technician look at it first, The tube layout for the amp is 1(5Y3), 1(6SL7), 1 (1273???), 2 (6V6), The amp came with the original Rola speaker, I took it out an put in a Jensen, I was told the 1273 is a sharp-cutoff pentode loctal tube, another designation for the tube is 7AJ7 I was told, I'll have to order a replacement online, can't find it locally

I use a Gibson SG reissue, Gibson Nighthawk, and a G&L Legacy strat, The SG sounds muddy through the amp, if I plug it in the MIC input, I get a low-end breakup, If I try the Nighthawk which has a high ouput slanted humbucker, the sound overdrives a little more, the strat doesn't overdrive quite as much, by itself the amp is good for blues,
If I put a distortion box (like the Sansamp) the amp responds like any good tube amp, it gives a warm vocal sound, I can really hear the rectifier sag, for classic rock, I can introduce some treble and get dark Rolling Stones sounds, The Tone knob only sounds good being 3/4 to all the way up, anything less is just too bassy, I've been trying to overdrive the input by increasing signal without introducing distortion, the sound gets bigger with oodles of feedback while staying clear of distorted tones, Aside from the noise issue due to the light bulb, I could use the amp by itself with a full band if I had an effect driving the inputs, how long the amp would last I'm not sure

I really want to get a technician to look at this amp first, I notice the amps output increases after its been on for about a minute, I need to give the amp time to warm up, I replaced the 5Y3 and the 6SL7, I left the RCA 6V6's in there, I've ordered a couple of 1273's from a radio supply store in Florida, Well, the amp is older than me and still honks just fine

I've heard that Jester Enterprises has the Oahu name and they are trying to get the Supro name from the guys at Matchless, As for support I think I'm 30 years too late

I've been playing for 13 years, I started collecting tube amps in 1995, lately due to living arrangements, I started collecting off-brand combo amps, I like to play mic'd small combos in stereo live, I find that amps that compliment each other well, one amp is bassy and dry, the other amp has a high midrange, This amp would qualify as being bassy and dry definately, Once I get the light bulb removed hopefully the noise won't be much of an issue either

Well its pretty basic.3 instrument inputs and a mic input. 2 vol 1 tone knob. It puts out about 15 watts through a 12inch speaker. The tubes are 2,6v6's/1,5879/1,5u4gt/1,6sl7. Its a 1952 i think. It doesnt even have a board inside the parts are wired to eachother!!

Well here is the amazing thing. This amp has a sound that you have to hear to believe. It sounds killer with a my Les paul at full blast!!! And with my strat it has a real nice blues tone. It doesnt distort to much but the overdrive is the best i have ever heard. I have owned many amps from Older marshall, Mesa Boogie,Fender's And it smokes them all!!!
