? Do you know what year the amp was made in?
Originally an early '70's Fender Super Reverb - completely rewired by Jim Price, and new Weber chassis in '05.

This amp is an absolute perfect match for my style. I love the tonal nuances of SRV (from Lenny to Texas Flood to House is a Rockin to later stuff) This amp can do it. I use mostly a Fender Lone Star Stratocastor, with all Texas Specials, as well a Mexican Stratocastor with a '62 reissue neck and Texas Specials.
Since this is now an amp head, I've been trying different speakers, Weber 15" California, Weber Blue Dog, some old Ampeg 12's, and so far the Eminence Cannibis Rex is working best to me with this amp. The touch of this amp is the most incredible...it's all about attack with this amp. The touch is just amazing. Play soft, and it's sweet and clear, breathes...hammer the strings and it growls and screams..without geting muddy on the low strings, and without drastic volume level changes.

? How many channels? Does it have channel switching? Effects loops? Headphone jack?
I'm a pretty simple guy, and with just a Tubescreamer and a Weber MiniMass. It still has the 2 channels, Jim told me he wired as the non-reverb as a Trainwreck circuit, and the reverb channel as a Dumble Steel String Singer. I mostly use the reverb channel (Dumble SSS modded circuit). Jim will wire up a footswitch or whatever you want to do whatever channel switching duties you need. The guy is a great person to work with and a tone perfectionist. He seems to be always available to answer any questions I have, and cranked this amp out in just 1 week after receiving it from me. (I hope Jim makes a great living off of his talent, but also hope he is still available to us little guys when it does happen!)

? Sounds
To be honest, I am thrilled with this amp. Jim did a fantastic job with it, and at a price about 1/3 less than what a local 'guru' quoted me. It keeps amazing me every time I change the knobs. The tone and volume knobs do interact with each other a little, so that keeps the tone variety endless. With this amp I can really hear the differences in different tubes, and the tone is much more sonic now...more musical. The tonal harmonics really step out of the speakers and fill the room. It's just got a very nice, musical sound, even when playing some heavy gain stuff. I don't use the reverb as much as I thought I would. And I mostly use the reverb channel (Dumble SSS circuit). Between the treble, the bright switch and the tone dial on the Tubescreamer (and level of attack), I can get sweet/silk to scream/scratch on the highs, with endless upper mid nuances.

? Reliabilty / Customer Support:
I have total faith in Jim and the work he does. As I wrote above, he seems to be available every and any time I've called or emailed with a question. Alsys eager to help or assist. I wish all my "busines" experiences were this good. (Now if I could ever get Sultone cabinets to ship my Blues Jr cab I'd be happy too...)
As far as his work on the chassis, I can say with my moderate skills at parts changing in tube circuits, his work is very clean and professional and well laid out. I don't look at the inside of the chassis very much anymore, since I enjoy playing it much more often now.

What I had was a plain jane blues deville with two footswitchable channels. One UGLY clean and one LIFELESS drive. I play mostly blues and rock so it was either get more tone or a new amp. Jim completely rewired the preamp and added another footswich to give a boost. He also hooked me up with a new set of preamp and output tubes. Replaced preamp 12ax7's and upgraded to KT-66 output tubes. LOUDEST 2X12 I'VE EVER HEARD!! Tons of headroom! You could cover any style of music with this sweet tweed now!! From Blues,Jazz and Country to metal if you want! Put an effects processor in front of her and you can do what ever! I don't think there are any limits.

Sound Quality : 10
I play strats mainly, one with noiseless PUPs, one with TEXAS SPECIALs and one stock squire(right now). One thing that really inpressed me was that I couldn't tell much difference between the noiseless and the Texas Sp because there was hardly any noise! even with the TexSp's!! Stop playing, mute the strings and there was nothing! no buzzing at all! Those noiseless will be on ebay in no time!!! I plug my strat straight into the amps clean channel with a TS9 modded to 808 and am instantly in SRV heaven. Switch to drive channel and BOOM!!! you're on stage with stevie himself. All you need is a strat and a really good Tubescreamer! Add a compressor if you want. Thats it, nothing fancy with this puppy now! The heavier the strings, the heavier your tone will be!! There is no substitute for an amp with awesome TONe!!!!

Reliability : No Opinion
I haven't road tested the amp yet but I am sure she will continue to smoothly pour out awesome tone for years to come.

Jim Price is as good as it gets when it comes to customer support. we were constantly in touch via email and phone. he kept me up to date with his progress. LED on the boost switch never lit so he is taking care of that at no cost to me. Jim is really out to make sure that his customers are happy with what he delivers. I WILL work with jim again in the future.

I've been playing for 12 years and 5 out of those 12 years have been looking for TRUE SRV tone. You can't substitute good tone with effects. If it were ever lost or stolen I would replace it. I have played through countless marshall's, fenders and this amp has the most pure tone. Its Awesome! If you have an old fender BF, SF, deville, send it to Jim and let him work his majic! He is a genius! IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS, DON'T ANYMORE! GET THIS DONE!!!

What we HAD here, was a 71 Band Master Reverb chassis, pretty much original, except caps, and tubes. When I bought the amp, it was in a Crusty Cabs 210 loaded with 2 Weber Fero Max 10s. The amp sounded pretty good, but nothing special. It was then I heard about Omega Amp's SRV mod. It can be done to about any BF, or SF Fender, from Bassmans, to Deluxe Reverbs. I chose to use KT 66s, due to my preference to them in amps gone by. When Jim (CEO, Omega Amps)finished with my SRV mod, I was peeling paint instantly! There are a dozen sounds that can be dialed in within the amp (having given me an OD channel in the "normal" side with reverb, two gain controls, and a master vol for killer OD at low vols!) Try to get that from a production amp. Before we started, we discussed what I was after. Jim suggested the SRV mod. When he was finished, he called me up, and told me to bring my guitar, and come over to make sure I was totally satisfied before we called it done. Thats customer service! My amp is now a swiss army knife of tones, and I can lighten my pedal board by about 10lbs, and use an A/B box between the normal, and vibrato channels. I highly recommend this to anyone with an old Fender they gig with. Jim's work looks like a surgeon did it. Very pretty.

Blusey tone abounds. I use Fender Thinline (72) teles, a Burny LP, and strats, playing mostly blues. The clean tone is fat, bottomy, with high end sparkle....just like I like it. The OD is NOT cheezy at all, but very tasty, and remains tasty at low vol if neccessary for smaller venues. It can have teeth if dialed up into Boogie territory.

Reliability : 9
Old Fenders are, well, old Fenders, but if you let Jim go thru it, I feel it will serve you well in battle, with no problems. I would trust it without a backup.

Great...lifetime warranty...how can you beat that?

I have been playing since the 70s,(47) and have owned Dr Zs, Tone Kings, Boogies, many old Fenders, Kendrick, Holland, and probably others I can't remember. If it were stolen, I'd replace it. Herein lies the beauty....this can be done by the Omega Man to any old Fender. The mod is in his head! You can't argue with good tone. You can pick up a POS old Fender fairly cheap, and have Jim Price bring it back to life beyond your wildest dreams!

After hearing several good comments about Mr. Price's work, I approached him about working on my '66 Fender Bandmaster which has seen it's better days visualy and audibly. Now with a cleaned up look and some work, I have an amp with 4 channels of glory, high and low gain stages on 2 inputs of the original 2 channel amp. Awesome!

Sound Quality : 10
I am a BIG Stevie Ray Vaughan fan which makes for an almost immposible tone to try to copy but now armed with my trusty Statocaster (strung 13-58 with 6100 frets) and my TS-808 ,I can get the lost tones from "Texas Flood" to the mellow song "Lenny". It just doesn't get any better than that!

Reliability : 10
With a background in electronics, (not amp technician) I see the quality in the work. All componets selected by Jim were top quality and soldered with perfection along with clean, neat wiring. No birdnest wiring here. This amp is in better shape than it was in 1966 and I see no reason why this will not be still kicking out great tones for the next 40 more years.

With a lifetime warranty I feel great about the future of my amp. As for customer service, Excellent! I live about 25 miles from Mr. Price which makes best even better. Mr. Price and myself sat in his workshop after the amp was modded and fine tuned my amp using my guitar. I played tunes while he dialed in the sounds according to my feedback to make sure I was 100% without a doubt satisfied with my amp. That's customer service at it's best.

Overall Rating : 10
I am extremely pleased with my amp and will be doing buisness again with Mr. Price. I reccomend him for all your amp needs. Thank you Jim! PS. My amp is NOT FOR SALE!!!
