I bought this amp this year, and I really enjoy it alot. This amp has a:
headphone jack
reverb knob
low, mid, and high knobs
master volume
overdrive level
regular volume

the overdrive is engaged by pressing a button on the faceplate. I wish it has a speaker out, but it doesn't. I don't really see a point in having an effects loop in this amp considering it is a practice amp. I really love how this amp doesn't have built in effects besides the reverb. I think built in effects sound awful and fake, so this way you just get pure tone.

I use this amp in my dorm room in college, and it's the perfect volume. The headphone jack is especially handy for this, but I usually disregard my neighbors and turn it up :). The speaker is only 8", which is really small, but again, it's a practice amp, you don't need much more.

Sound Quality : 7
I am using a fender telecaster aerodyne, which has the normal tele bridge pickup, but has a p90 in the neck. The amp sounds great in all pickup positions, especially the middle position. It's a very quiet amp, and I have alot of electrical interference due to florescent lights and computer monitors.

I really love this amps clean channel, which is pretty much what I use the majority of the time. I am not a huge fan of the distortion though, it seems very fizzy.

Reliability : 8
I can depend on it, but I personally wouldn't gig with it, thats why I have a mesa f-50. The amp was having trouble when I first got it, the power cable kept coming loose, but it's all good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havn't had to deal with it...

Overall Rating : 10
I think it's a great practice amp, with great tone for the price. It's perfect for me being in college.

Orange is a good name for indy and alternarockers.. Unfortunately their main run of amps are a bit pricey for my budget, but i was in the market for a practice amp and decided to pick it up...
controls are straight forward (Low, mid, high, master volume, pre-gain volume, gain, and reverb) I personally feel the reverb adds alot to the amp as far as presence..
real easy to use..

Sound Quality : 8
ive been playing around with this amp for about half a year and i think the sound of the eight inch speaker is great.. crispy highs, singy mids, and gets real bassy for a practice amp.
the distortion on this amp has its own flavor (almost big muff ish in a weird way).. it caters to blues, indy, and alternative (NOT METAL IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM). I feel the dirt on this amp is pretty bright for an english amp, but im a big fan of a bright sound soo you wont hear me complain about it. I really think orange did a great thing by producing the crush line..

the only down side to this amp is that when pushed.. the clean can find some dirt, and when the overdrive is completely pushed the transistors overload and will hiss at you..

Reliability : 9
Built solid, does not rattle or buzz when im playing it..
I would never worry about this thing dying.. it has no tubes and the transistors wont crap out..
Its too small to gig so you dont have to worry about it dying on stage, but i would trust it on stage.. good quality materials surround this amp

Customer Support : 8
From what ive heard Orange is an extremely committed company who will make sure you are satisfied with their product. Warranty on the crush i think is a year.. could be more, gotta check on that again

Overall Rating : 9
Great bang for the buck.. would recommend it to anyone over all the other junky practice amps out there. This can be used for decent to good quality recordings and can hold its own with bigger more expensive amps as far as sound and build quality..
frankly im impressed with this little guy and its cheap enough for an impulse buy.. definitely worth a look

BEWARE OF THE SPEAKER!!!!!!!!
The amp is new.
It's not versatile as it's usually dirty, even on the clean channel (if you wanna call that a channel...it's more of a setting).
I'm not worried about the features since it's a cheap practice amp. It does have a headphone out which is what any bedroom practice amp should have.
I use this amp in the bedroom and it can wake the neighbors. I've used it at two different practices. Mid'ed as it can't really keep up. If you crank it don't expect to stay clean. I thought I was on the dirty channel when I first got it home but I was actually on the clean. I like there's two volumes and a gain knob. I'll give it a 7 for features since it has the knobs and headphone thingy.

Sound Quality : 8
It's a dirty amp. It's good for bedroom demo recording.
Yes, the clean channel is distorted at high volumes with just about any setting.
The distortion can be brutal or you can tame it down.
I'm mostly using my Epi Dot with this guitar...stock pickups. It's a creamy distortion sound.
I use it for alternative types of music...ya know, garage.
It can be noise. It can squeal if you crank the gain a lot and you have humbuckers.

Reliability : 2
I wouldn't depend on it. This is my second one as the first one the speaker rattled and it was unusable.
It took the shop six months or so to replace it.

WATCH OUT FOR THE SPEAKER!!!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I worked with the shop. They eventually replaced it. I don't know if the problem was on their end or Oranges. I tried not to be a jerk about it and waited patiently as I trusted the shop would eventually come through.

Overall Rating : 2
I don't care about the overall rating. I just wanted to post this review to warn potential buyers of the speaker. Don't just trust it. Try it out. I'm thinking of taking it back and getting something I can use in a live setting, but still practice with.

I would not buy another one if it was lost or stolen...and it'd be hard to lose since it's bright orange. I think I'm going to replace it with a Blues or Pro Jr. I have more faith in Fender products since I have a lot of experience with them and the company support.

I mainly play hard rock, metal and some stoner rock. Anything from AC/DC to Helmet to Boris. I wanted a bedroom practice amp with a very British sound for a bottom-feeder price. I got the Crush 15R based on reviews that said it came close to the Orange valve sound in a solid state package. The amp has basic treble, mid, and bass controls, reverb, overdrive (with a level control), plus volume and master volume. There's also a headphone jack for quiet practice. I believe the Orange Crush line used to be made in Korea, but they're now made in China. But after inspection and some playing time, it's quite well made with no QC issues. For very small, coffee-house type gigs, it has plenty of power, but for club shows you'd need 30 watts or more.

Sound Quality : 8
For such a small (8-inch, I think) speaker, this packs a nice punch and has good bottom end for a solid state amp. For a 15 watter it's plenty loud. I play through this with an HSS Strat and a Les Paul. With the Strat's single coils I can get a good variety of sounds, from blues to hard rock. But humbuckers are where it's at with this amp, though. I typically use a pedal board, but with the 15R, I'm enjoying playing with the guitar plugged straight in (which I almost never do), using just the amp's overdrive cranked to full. The overdrive is tasteful but not overwhelming, and I do admit wishing that the overdrive level knob could go to a darker side. The clean side is a little midrangey and polite sounding, but I can go from jangly to bluesy, and with the pedals I can go straight to an old-school, Sabbathy metal sound. And as mentioned by others, the reverb isn't of much use past about 10 o'clock. Add just a touch of reverb with this amp, or none at all. You won't get a rich, Lush-like reverb with the 15R, but it's adequate for the price paid.

Reliability : No Opinion
The amp is solidly built and has been perfectly dependable so far after a few dozen hours of use. Seeing as I'll never gig with this amp, reliability in a live setting will not be an issue.

Customer Support : 4
It took almost three months to get this little amp shipped from Georgia to California, so Orange definitely has some supply and demand problems to solve. The amp has a one-year warranty, and I figure it should last at least that long. As for dealing with customer service, it depends on how long the amp lasts. The longer it lasts, the more likely I would choose not to deal with their support if it fails.

Overall Rating : 8
I've played for about six years on and off. I'm mainly a "for myself" player. My other amps include a Fender Blues Deluxe and a couple of no-name solid-state amps. There are more versatile SS amps out there in the same price range than the 15R, but there's something about that Orange sound that would make me come back to it if I didn't have it anymore. As mentioned above, I wish the reverb was sweeter, and I wish I could crank the overdrive into, well, overdrive. But it's a great basic amp and a good introduction to the Orange sound. It isn't quite the full Orange valve sound, but it's pretty close, and without question it's worth the money spent.

Features include master, volume, treble, mid, bass, dirt channel. and reverb. I am a firm believer less is more lol... Also has a headphone out plug. I purchased this amp for my daugher, So it will be a bedroom amp. It has plenty of power and uses a 10" speaker, 15 watt solid state.

This amp, for a 15watt amp, sounds much much bigger.

All and all not to bad for a cheap starter amp...ok its a great starter amp...

Sound Quality : 10
Ok here is where I was surprized, pleasantly I might add. First it has a 110v chord that you plug into the back of the amp, when I plugged it in the panel kinda pushed in a bit, so my first though was oh great cheap cheap cheap..... But then I turned it on and played with the dials a bit.

The clean is super, nice and clean and has great volume potential. As you turned the thing up you would swear you wear plugged into a a expensive tube combo....realy! Add a tad of reverb and wow I was totally impressed and pleased. I tried out some of the similiar priced fender, crate, line 6 etc... You may get a few more features with those but for sure not the tone.

Ok, next I hit the dirty channel and again I was blow away....I have never ever heard a $119 amp sound so good... I mean really this is a 10" speaker solid state amp which sounds every bit like a 12" tube combo. I play through a Marshall JCM800 head with cab and have had Carvin and others..This amp may not get the total tone as those but this amp doesn't cost $1000.00 either

Did I mention I was using my daughter new Daisey Rock Elete guitar also? No kidding that thing is a whole nother story.... I plugged in my Blueshawk and Explorer and found about 2 full hours had blown by. I had not had so much fun playing in a long time...I was all smiles

Ok now for the flaw. Its minor and not realy a bad problem but nothing is perfect... the Reverb...if you go much beyond the 4th or 5th tick a nasty feedback builds in the amp.... To be perfectly honest I felt that the 2nd tick provide ample reverb anyway and number 3 was realy getting thick with reverb(I mean this in a good way)....

This amp would be great for beginners or say a dude just going through a nasty divorce who's wife took everything he has including his Mesa Lone Star or what ever..... You will never find anything in this sound for under a 120 bucks.

Reliability : 8
Can't really comment on this, because I just picked it up...I will update this in a few months though..

Earlier I mentioned plugging in the 110v chord to the back panel and it moved in a bit....That area of this amp was the only place that seemed...week if you will...overall this little amp seems built like a tank, it is really really solid.

Because of Oranges history I'm sure it will be fine in the long run... But because it is Made in China or wherever I will only give a 8

Customer Support : 10
My local music store has a fabulous history of backing everything and I know Orange is great also so...... 10 frkn 10!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing since...oh my god 1978.... I own an original Gibson Custom Edition Explorer 1983, Gibson Blueshawk, Gibson Les Paul, Fender Tele, Seagul s6. I've had a Marshall JCM800lead series head since 1982, with 2 MArshall 1922s. I have a Orange 30 head and have had a couple Mesa's, Peavy, and Carvin.. For pedals I use MXR 90phaser, Boss Blues Driver, Boss Chorus, Ibenez digital delay. I have Digitech JAM man, Tascam recording equipment, Meeks filter and other stuff......

Well this is my daughter Christmas gift and I'm certain if it is lost or stolen she'll want it replaced so yes we would get another.

Like I said earler, I compaired this to just about everthing in its price...hands down nothing compares to this thing, it is awsome. Look the little Fender, Marshall, Line 6, Peavy, etc amps are all ok starter amps. This amp has a sound that realy comes close to it bigger brothers...seek one out and go try it.

Although this is a smaller practise amp, there is a clean, overdrive and headphone channel and the equalizer enables you to change your low, mid and high frequency settings. These are very handy features and are certainly what you would expect from a much larger and more expensive amp. This is a transistor amp, however it's clean high end sound could make people mistake it for a tube easily! This amp has an absolutely amazing reverb function; sounds like a much larger amp! I use this amp mainly at home but sometimes for recording. You would probably want something a little bigger to play over the top of a drum kit, but if you are just using this amp at home or in a room, this amp will perform above your needs and expectations.

Sound Quality : 8
I use a 50th Aniversary Tele, EMG front and back pickups. Mainly play soft rock, indie rock and post punk-rock. It suits my style in the recording environment but even if run through a PA on stage, this amp would not suit gigs. Good response even from a low volume. The overdrive channel can produce a pretty dirty, heavy sound when set on full, however, can produce a cleaner more mellow rock sound when overdrive is turned down. The amp will produce great distortion untill about 3/4 of full master; this is when the amp may blear some feedback which is annoying, but the problem can be fixed by backing off the volume dial a little. The distortion overall is pretty powerful and some awesome sounds can be made by fiddling with the tone dial on your guitar.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable amp. No problems so far (had it for a year) and that is suprising because mine has been dropped, left on and beaten round so many times.

I have been playing guitar for around 2 years now and for size, this is definately the best amp I have ever used. I absolutely love the reverb on this little thing - it is easily better than my 60w fender and 200w hiwatt. I have compared this to I think 30w peavy amp and my Orange 15w sounded so much clearer and powerful. This amp is very, very resonably priced and sounds more like a 30w than a 15w. I would not use this for a gig, but it would be my only choice for recording.

15 watt closed cab solid state combo with reverb.
Headphone jack, reverb, low, mid, high, master, distortion gain, distortion/clean switch, volume. Basic stuff. What can ya except of an amp that costs 100 bucks? V-E-R-Y powerful reverb. I never use reverb level over 6. And of course the great color: bright orange!

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a ESP-LTD M-200 FM (go check review) through Ibanez SM-7 Heavy metal distortion and Dunlop DB-01 Dimebag darrel signature multi-wah to this amp. The sound KICKS ASS! It sounds like much bigger amp, and the sound is almost tube-like, especially when played at full volume (which is enough for a small gig!) though it can't played at full volume clean, it distorts a little at full vol.
Amp distortion is quite good, considering this is a solid state. You can get some tube drive style sounds and rock distortion as well. It's best when used little distortion after a distortion pedal.
The EQ works well. I keep it almost all the time in the basic scoop sound: Lo 7, Mid 0-2 and Hi 10 and no reverb. Very 80's. Rock rock. When I play clean, Lo 8, Mid 6, Hi 10 and reverb at about 5. Cool.
Suits almost any styles, I think, depending on your guitar, but I use it mostly for metal.
Sound compared to price, 10, absolutely!

Reliability : 10
Oh yes, it's very reliable, I've sat on it, it's fallen off it's 1 m high stand a few times, I've left it on for few days, I've played it full volume with all possible boosts on, I've spilled drink on it, works still perfectly, it's as new.

I've been playing 6 years, and this is my only amp, as I don't gig very much I don't need very much watts, and for recording it SOUNDS like some 100 watt amp, at least with my rig. If it were stolen, I would buy another. Definetely. Hope it would have effect loop and a footswitch, but you can't expect everything of a cheapo amp like this. For it's price, it's excellent!
