Orange 1x12 cabinet, classic Orange look. Came with Celestion G12K-100 in 16 ohms. It was lighter and smaller than I though it would be. Two jacks for daisy chaining cabs.

It sounds boxy, emphasizes the mids. It needs to be turned up to get a better sound. I didn't like the G12K, so I installed a G12M Greenback. Improvement definitely but still boxy. I am a big fan of Greenbacks. The cab held up well at high volume with a Tiny Terror, I don't know how well it would with a 50W amp, I wouldn't try it with a Greenback.

Here is where I was disappointed. It came with only 3 screws holding the speaker. The 4th was stuck on the magnet and the washer was bent. This was built in China, and it shows. The tolex should have been put on better, it is coming loose on a couple of spots, and the overall construction is below average. In comparison to Marshall and Avatar, this is poor.

I have a Tiny Terror which is incredible. It was made in Korea but with the Orange name I had high expectations. So I bought the PPC112 cab with the same expectations, and it disappointed. I sold an Avatar cab to get this just to match the Tiny Terror, and I regret it. It is poorly made cab from China. I understand the 2x12 and 4x12 cabs from Orange are made in England, so they should be better, but you are better off buying an Avatar, a much better built cab, your choice of speaker and ohms and saving money to boot.
The only reason to get this cab is to have the Orange logo, no other reason. If the extra money and lower quality doesn't outweigh that to you.

The cabinet I am reviewing here is a Chinese made product, solid ply (NOT Birch like the UK built Orange cabinets !!) 60 watts at 16 Ohms, loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30 driver.
Closed back design with 1/4 " jack plate fitted with 2 sockets, allowing daisy chaining.
I bought the PPC112 as a space/weight saver for playing gigs in smaller venues, and it certainly does the job, having the same footprint as my Rocker 30 head (I beleive it is exactly the same dimensions as the R30 Combo)

The cabinet sounds terrific with the Rocker 30 head. I normally use my PPC212, which is a UK built cabinet, absolutely superb in all areas. The 112 acquits itself well, the sound is tight, accurate with no cabinet rattles. The 212 is rated at 120 watts, and copes all too easily with the cranked up Rocker. The 112 gets driven harder, and the sound actually benefits from this. I have not had it long enough to wax lyrical about the sound, as it will take a year or two of hard use before it reaches its best, but out of the boix, the sound is very nice.

No problems with reliability. After all, its only a box loaded with Celestion so it should be good.

No experience with customer support related to this purchase. I have emailed Orange about other issues and not got a reply. The jury is out on this one !

Good solid box, loaded with a top of the line speaker. Great sound, but I do have a few gripes:
I use Orange because they are a top of the range, professional amplification supplier. My UK built Rocker 30 head and PPC212 cabinet are uttelry superb in every category. The Chinese made PPC112 is a very different story !
The finish on the PPC112 is nothing short of dismal!
The Tolex is nowhere near the same shade as that of my PPC212 or the Rocker head. OK I am being fussy, but hey, this is supposed to be a top brand !
The Tolex is also very poorly finished at the joins. I will need to get the Evo Stik out to sort out the loose bits, try to make it look as though it were put together by a professional !
The speaker cloth is as loose as the skin on an elephants arse, with a plastic 'Orange' badge that looks like it came out of a Christmas Cracker.
The jack socket has been screwed on squint.
My message to Orange ??
I would have paid 50% more to get a PPC112 of the same quality as the rs=est of my Orange gear.
Either strt making these units in the UK again, or get someone over to China pronto and sort out some quality control. This is unacceptable !!
I will only keep the PPC112 because at this time there are no alternative UK made cabinets available new.
